Underarm (Armpit) Sweating Solution

Armpit Excessive Sweating

Do you suffer excessive sweating under your arm? you are not alone, Keira Knightly, Nicole Kidman, Kim Marsh, Halle Berry, Marisa Miller, Cameron Diaz and a long list of celebrities, all suffer from excessive sweating. It is a part of the normal mechanism of the body to lower its heat, yet presence of fatty sweat in this hairy area almost creates a big problem, as bacteria present over the surface of the skin break down that fluid producing a strong - sometimes nasty - odor. This situation may present a barrier to social communication and creates a psychological burden on the afflicted person, specially if she is a female. The good news is that today I will present to you the complete solution of this small sized big problem.

Underarm Odor

If you are the person with a good health, shower repeatedly, use many soaps, antiperspirants, powders, but you suffer the problem of armpit smell, then you should know you are a normal person and here is the full story of your armpit odor.

the whole body is covered with sweat glands , these glands are called eccrine glands and are not only associated with hair as do the apocrine glands which are restricted mainly to the armpit and groin. Apocrine glands are very active after puberty and secrete a fatty liquid in response to stress stimuli.

The composition of sweat is similar to that of plasma except that it does not contain proteins. It contains electrolytes(such as potassium, sodium, and chloride) and metabolic wastes (like urea and lactic acid).

Sweat secreted from apocrine sweat glands contains numerous substances, which are most likely the precursors for forming odoriferous compounds, even although these precursors are odorless, examples of these products are volatile odor-producing steroids [e.g. dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA)], nonvolatile steroid sulfates[e.g. dehydroepiandrosterone sulfate (DHEAS)], volatile short-chain fatty acids, sulfur-containing amino acids, and cholesterol esters.

Bacteria on the skin metabolize these fatty substances present in the sweat, producing substances like, isovaleric acid, volatile sulfur-containing compounds (VSC),3-methyl-2-hexenoic acid, which together with the steroids and their products give rise to the charecterestic smell underarm.

Can We Stop Armpit Sweating?

Surgery :
British surgeons are offering to permanently treat excessive armpit sweating with the aid of a new 60-minute Laser Sweat Ablation, which will cost around 3,500 pounds. Is there a guarantee that armpit sweat problems will actually improve following surgery? I don't know.

Botox :
Stories about botox are common in the press, and despite the hype, bad publicity is all too common due to high failure rates. Furthermore, safety is not a guarantee!

The Solution of Armpit Sweat Problem

Dry up Armpit Sweat Completely Every 3-4 Days

Most of the research done to resolve this problem, by the cosmetics industry, has been aimed at preventing the smell from being noticed. This is accomplished in two ways, through the application of either antiperspirants or deodorants.

The solution? drying up the water will kills the bacteria. Incorporating Epsom salt with any ointment base will dry up your skin safely and effectively, adding some herbs known to kill bacteria is a complete solution to the problem. Here is how you can do that as I personally prepare them. You just dissolve the Epsom salt in 1 TSP of water and mix them with other ingredients:

Zinc Oxide Modified Ointment

• Zinc oxide ointment............... 100 grams

• Epsom salt ....................... ...1 teaspoon

• Thyme oil ............................. few drops

This will also soothe the skin any time there is an irritation.

Homemade Vaseline Ointment

Homemade Vaseline Ointment

• Homemade Vaseline* ................ 50 grams

• Epsom salt ....................... 1/2 teaspoon

Scroll to Continue

• Glycerin ......................... 1 teaspoon

• Tea tree oil ..................... few drops

* To make homemade Vaseline, microwave 1 tablespoon of grated beeswax admixed with 1/4 cup Almond oil for 2 minutes and, then leave to cool.

Sage Oil Ointment

• Vaseline petroleum jelly ......... 100 grams

• Epsom salt ....................... 1 teaspoon

• Sage oil ......................... few drops

• Violet oil ....................... few drops

Prepare in the usual way.

You can scent any of the preparations the way you like, and you can also search the web for herbs with antibacterial properties, but as long as you apply Epsom salt you will not need any of them. Use them in whatever frequency makes you feel comfortable about the results, they are completely safe. These same treatments can be implemented to get rid of groin sweating.

Hi Emily,

Yes it is already tried.

Does this really work?

elqalatawy (author) from Egypt on May 27, 2013:

Hi Rak,

You form a water in oil emulsion. Water and oil can form either water in oil emulsion (w/o), or oil in water (o/w) emulsion by the use of soap-like substances (surfactants).

Rak on May 27, 2013:

I thought you couldn't mix water into Vaseline, isn't petroleum jelly supposed to keep water out?

How will you get it to mix??

If you have sweaty armpits, consider yourself lucky. Let the armpit hair grow naturally, it will drain the sweat and retain the natural smell of a woman. Be proud to wear sleeveless tops and display your natural hair with pride. Hair showing from your bikini will drive men wild.

I have had this problem for around 10 years of my life. I started using an Argentinean product named ALUMPACK which is a solution used as a deodorant. IT COMPLETELY FIX THE PROBLEM. Ten years later I sweat like a normal person or even less. The product is used for around two weeks. I was on my way to get surgery when a dermatologyst suggested that. I think the comparison in the US would be a deodorant that has a concentration of aluminium in a higher percentage. do research.

Hi wbindr,

Thanks for your stopping by.

After about 1/2 an hour Magnesium sulphate would be absorbed leaving only fat on your skin, you may wipe it using towel or cotton.

As long as you do not find sweat you do not need to use it, it is supposed to work for more than 1 day. By the way, if you are not satisfied with the results, just increase the amount of Epsom salt a bit (add 1/2 gram more).

wbindr on September 01, 2011:

Also, is it possible for me to not incorporate any oil into the mixture? Surprisingly, I can't seem to find any of the oils you mentioned at the local market. And i'm kinda DESPERATE to give this a

Hey elqalatawy,

Thankyou for this helpful information. However could you elaborate on the preparation and application method, please? Is the solution supposed to be washed off at any point after the application or is it essentially an alternative to an anti- perspirant? How many times a day should it be used etc. Thanks again!

Hi elqalatawy,

I liked your tip about using Epsom salt and your suggestions for mixing with oils and vaseline. I will be intrigued to find out if this really helps. Thanks for the suggestion.
