The Sassiest Season Is Back
If there’s been one fashion lesson learned during this pandemic, it is that individual bravura doesn’t disappear in difficult times. People must have stayed home during the lockdown, but they still have celebrated the joys of clothing irrespective of the season; and if you are anything like me and love everything about the spring season, from weddings to attire; you must have already packed away your coats and jackets to reunite with your favourite spring staples!
Sure, from the sartorial point of view, winter isn't so nasty. After all, my post–lockdown closet has already been met with most of the Autumn-Winter trends for making that societal comeback- (Yes, the social and sartorial hiatus is officially over). Well… but, let's be genuine, there is nothing that can truly replace the happy-go-lucky summer wardrobe.
As lockdown limitations are slowly starting to lift and the future is beginning to look a little more promising, it’s time to flaunt your bodies that lockdowns kept unseen at home for far too. So, think short or sheer-The attitude? Little fashion, more skin.
The Spring-Summer Trends
The spring-summer trends this year look a whole lot more steamy, joyful and festive than we have seen for quite some time. Dressing more is the new movement, minimalism is gone, skirts are small and heels are huge.
The spring trends have already provided plenty of inspiration to all of us for how to upgrade our closet at home. We have got a whole new outlook on getting dressed. In addition to surprising silhouettes and shocking color combinations, this year emphasizes the importance of thinking globally.

Styling Holiday Looks
We have already fallen in love with Anna Sui’s spring collection that showcased key vacation-ready looks, in the form of classic cuts. Crochet tops, boho-chic dresses, and printed separates in fabrics like cotton are the main pieces that are stemming the trend. Ranging from pleated miniskirts in statement hues, brightly saturated tunics to artfully embellished maxi dresses; it is all about those wanderlust vibes.
This spring, elusive sex appeal comes in the form of definitive cuts and silhouettes that are meant to turn heads. After a long period of protective layering, this season calls for some skin show. Down-to-there necklines, flirtatious silhouettes that reveal snippets of the midriff and thigh-high slits are proving to be far more of a long-term look.
All About Glamour
Floral dresses with form-fitting tops and puff sleeves, Feminine suiting beautified with pointed-toe heels and gems, and decorated bubble hems paired up with studded earrings, offers all the glamour along with a dash of romanticism. Hues like pastel, rose, fuschia in supersheer fabrics are having a real moment this spring.
Moreover, feminine and delicate embellishments such as lace will play a major role to provide all the seasonal softness. It’s time to raise the temperature (and hemlines)!
Back to Basics
Next season is all about the basics minus shiny sequins. Get back to well-tailored suits, button-down shirts, and clean line trousers in a neutral color palette. The Spring season sees the return of unadorned white suiting which have been off the sartorial radar for quite some months as most of us were glued to our laptop screens, working from home in comfy loungewear.
This year, stripes in the classic horizontal pattern is also getting a makeover with new distinctions of hues, thickness, and proportions to offer more formal look.
Flounce that Frill
Now we all have to agree on this- Playful fringes can transform any outfit’s mood instantly without leaving that sophisticated touch. This spring season walk in full confidence in that full fringe skirt or top with tassels and be blissful.
Go Bold with Brights
Set your sights on bold hues for spring. Lively and fresh colors are already making their mark strong. Neon yellow and pinks are among the hottest shades to wear (even when worn head-to-toe). Beige and pastel aficionados are you even listening!
Embrace The Straps
Whether it's a fitted top with multi-straps across the shoulders, trousers with a strapped criss– cross waistband; strapped intonations are all going big this season.
Crochet is a major spring trend for a reason. Whether you are walking along the beach or getting ready for that perfect date night, you will find never run out of excuses to flaunt your crochet design. From tops, dresses, skirts, and even bags; we are getting all-things-crochet!
Bulky Bags & Beaded Jewelry
People like me; who constantly struggle to stuff ‘’ endless essentials’’ in our teeny tiny bags over recent years are finally relieved as this spring season brings back all those bulky bags, totes, (my sincere apologies to micro bags). For those who are looking for more of a playful look on weekends; lively beaded jewelry and hats are the perfect yet practical wearable pieces.
Pump Things Up
From platform, loafers, clogs, sandals to flip-flops; The spiraling shoe trend applies to every aspect. There is something for everyone — rougher soles for those pragmatic ones and more sophisticated, strappy high-heeled kinds for those who prefer a more feminine look.
This spring season is all about creating stylish yet practical looks- the utilitarian pieces you can buy now and undoubtedly wear later. The much-needed spring staples with those ‘fresh-never-boring’ vibes.
It’s time to get all the inspiration from these latest spring fashion trends to create your fashion moment. Ready to plan your spring closet?
