Why The League Flirting With Disaster

Sports has changed drastically because of the Pandemic. Now that things had let up over time it seems like things was going back to normal. Until Omicron Variant has surfaced making things more complicated in the world sports. NHL halted games , and caused to cancel all there games, over 100 games been cancelled in the NCAA, Football team likes Texas A&M had paused as well because of Outbreaks of the Covid 19. These Situations make you're wonder about how the NBA will take there approach towards outbreaks, and how will they keep players and fans safe during these uncertain times. Will The NBA flirt with the idea of a disaster, by continuing games, or will it be like other Sports organization, cancelling games to reinvent a strategy.

NBA has been taking precautions doing all they can to make sure that the well being of fans and players are safe. They implemented ten day hardship to teams who lost players to health and saftey protocol. Which made a impact into NBA teams competing for a title . Below are Notable Stars who has been placed in 10 day isolation due to protocol.

Notable Players

  1. Kevin Durant
  2. LeBron James
  3. James Harden
  4. Draymond Green
  5. Zach Lavine
  6. Jason Tatum
  7. Lonzo Ball
  8. Trae Young
  9. Luka Doncic
  10. Deandre Ayton

There are more than 100 players that are included in the protocol and nothing less than 60 players for other games because of that the NBA is doing exactly what they need to do to make sure they can avoid postponing games. So far this season 9 teams cancel games. To avoid that, hardship is mandated for teams to keep rosters afloat.

In retrospective, the NBA dealt with this last season through a bubble and it seem like it was enough to a point. This year will the methods the League using be actually enough to stop another outbreak from happening, and can it keep the NBA active and complete a full NBA season. Not to long ago the League but it's teams inside of the Bubble to maintain its season and prevent an outbreak. But research has proven that another outbreak could likely at a 2% chance each year and at a 38% chance in a life time. According to William pan who stated, "The most important takeaway is that large pandemics like COVID-19 and the Spanish flu are relatively likely,”. Having a pandemic is possible and can be deadly to degree, but will the NBA flirt with the idea and push the envelope to maintain its Business? Only time can tell, but with all The NBA letting there players back to the floor after six day instead if ten can raise questions for the will being of are players fan and communities. The NBA is the most polarized sport in the world, and fans would be devastated to experience another cancellation if a season. So taking the approach to keep players safe by putting them in protocol, constantly testing, making sure they are encouraging individuals to be vaccinated, can be a great method to maintain the season , but is it worth it at the end , and is it worth the vigorous efforts, or should the season like other sports organization s shut down and reproach this with another lens to prevent another disaster.
