Passionate cricket lovers will remember Andre Fletcher's dismissal of Brett Lee in the company of Chris Gayle at The Oval in the second T20 World Cup. Chris Gayle is an explosive batsman, this is well known and true to his reputation, Lee was kicked out of the stadium twice. But the bridge pulled by his young partner caught the attention of the audience. The infallibility and lack of fear and respect for a bowler of Lee's stature and pace was really impressive. West Indies won the match on a strong first wicket stand and it can be safely said that the stakes on Fletcher's popularity went up.

An opener with a solid technique, Fletcher is one of the few cricketers to come from the island nation of Grenada. Having extra wicket-keeping abilities, he was dropped in the West Indies squad without any first-class experience. As is the case with such talented youngsters, he impressed in the initial few essays, the aforementioned knock against Australia in a T20 World Cup, but was later flattered to cheat

West Indies is a hotbed of talent; But sadly, a huge chunk of that talent gets attracted towards T20 and eventually gets bigger in different leagues across the world. However, Roston Chase is different. The off-spinner bats low down the order but has shown in his short career so far that he can bat for a draw - a feature the Caribbean island is lacking in. Chase got his first Test call-up for the series against India in 2016 and returned with figures of 5/121 in his second Test before scoring a rearguard ton (137) on the final day to draw the Jamaica Test. This rare feat made Chase only the fourth West Indian, after Dennis Atkinson, Colley Smith and Sir Garfield Sobers, to take five wickets and score a century in the same Test match.

It was not an innings effort. The following year, his two centuries almost saved a home series against Pakistan - only for his team to lose the final Test and the series in the final over of the match. In the West Indies team crying out for quality, Chase has shown he has what it takes to build an outstanding Test career - despite blooming late

In a largely mediocre West Indies team who have suffered due to the the absence of their stars thanks to the conflict with the the board, Ravi Rampaul has stood out with consistent performances. With a simple, fluid action Rampaul troubles the batsmen with both pace and accuracy.

Rampaul however struggled to live upto his expectations during the initial stages of his career. After being handed his international debut in 2003 in an ODI against Zimbabwe, Rampaul struggled to make an impact for his side. He averaged in excess of 1 wicket per games only once in his first 6 years when he picked 13 wickets in 10 matches in 2007. Rampaul was also notorious for giving away far too many extras a problem he has cut down with good effect in recent times

Odean Smith is a right-arm medium pace bowler who made his debut for the Windies in the bilateral T20I series against Pakistan. He proved to be extremely expensive in both the matches he played and since then he has not featured for the Windies.

He was picked by the St Lucia Stars in this year's CPL but did not get enough opportunities to showcase his talent.

A tall, sturdily built structure ensures that Romario stands out in a group. An all-rounder who can bat down the order and eliminate hostilities with the ball, Romário does his business in Guyana.

After playing for the Guyana under-17 and under-19 teams in 2012, Romario turned to the Berbice under-19 team in 2013. Consistent performances with both bat and ball meant that Guyana earned him a place in the 2016 Nagios Super 50 tournament. In his first game in 2008, the speedster took 3 for 37 against the Leeward Islands and won the man of the match award.
