Independent Female Wrestlers
I have a Hub about the Classic era of Women's Pro Wrestling, the ladies that blazed a trail for the WWE Divas and TNA Knockouts of today.
But outside of WWE and TNA there are wrestling promotions that have ladies work for them that hearken back to the days of Mildred Burke and June Byers.
The ladies of Independent wrestling.
They don't get the glitz and glamour that the female wrestlers of the major promotions get.
Some of these women work 9 to 5 jobs, then load up a car, drive hundreds of miles and wrestle just one match for very little pay.
And at times great physical risk.
Well some do it because they want to get noticed by the major leagues.
Quite a few have.
But most do it because they love wrestling.
It really is in their blood.
Madison Eagles is well on her way to becoming a wrestling legend.
This six foot one, 155 pound Australian beauty started her wrestling career at the age of 17.
Since her debut she has worked for promotions like International Wrestling Australia, New Horizon Pro Wrestling, Pacific Pro Wrestling and Shimmer Women Athletes.
Madison is regularly in the PWI Female 50 list and in 2011, she was number one, beating out WWE Divas and TNA Knockouts.
She is married to pro wrestler Ryan Eagles (Doug Ryan) and they have three children.
Madison trained fellow Aussie wrestler Jessie McKay aka WWE NXT Diva Billie Kay.
Nicole Savoy is a wrestler full of contradictions.
I have seen her birthplace listed as Pulaski County, Missouri and as Elk Grove, California.
I have seen her real name listed as Nicole Matthias and as Kianna Rivera.
What everyone seems to agree on is that she made her wrestling debut on November 5th, 2011 and that she was trained by Michael Modest, Rich Myers, Earl The Pearl and Oliver John.
Nicole has worked for Queens of Combat and SHIMMER Women Athletes.
On the 2016 PWI Top 50 Females list, Nicole came in at number 13.
Not bad at all.
Canadian pro wrestler Nicole Matthews was born on January 15th, 1987 in Coquitlam, British Columbia, Canada.
She was trained by Michelle Starr, Scotty Mac, Vance Nevada, ECCW Heavyweight Champion Aaron Idol and Halo and made her pro wrestling debut in February of 2006.
Nicole has worked for Extreme Canadian Championship Wrestling/Elite Canadian Championship Wrestling, Pure Wrestling Association and Shimmer Women Athletes.
She also worked for Wrestlicious, where she was called Hope and forms the tag team "The Naughty Girls" with partner Faith, who was played by her "Canadian NINJA" tag team partner, Portia Perez.
By the way, The Canadian NINJAs stands for "National International Nation of Jalapeño Awesomeness".
Although Kimber Lee is an Indy wrestler, she was just recently signed by the WWE.
So she may soon be a WWE Diva.
Kimber was born on June 27, 1990 in Seattle, Washington.
She has worked for Combat Zone Wrestling, Women Superstars Uncensored, Shine Wrestling, Shimmer Women Athletes and Chikara.
In Shine she teamed up with Cherry Bomb (TNA Knockout Allie) and formed The Kimber Bombs.
Before signing with the WWE, she appeared on NXT on December 7, 2016 in a losing effort against Ember Moon.
Kimber was trained by the Combat Zone Wrestling Academy and Drew Gulak, and she made her wrestling debut in 2011.
Candice LeRae was born Candice Dawson on September 29, 1985 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.
She was trained by Bill Anderson, Jesse Hernandez and T.J. Perkins and made her wrestling debut in 2002.
So far she has worked for wrestling promotions like Pro Wrestling Guerrilla, Combat Zone Wrestling, Alternative Wrestling Show, DDT Pro-Wrestling, Family Wrestling Entertainment and Smash Wrestling.
She tag teams with Joey Ryan as The World's Cutest Tag Team, and they also have a weekly YouTube show called "The Candice & Joey Show".
Candice is married to Johnny Gargano, who you may know as one half of the current NXT Tag Team DIY, with Tommaso Ciampa.
Female wrestler Dori Prange is better known by her ring name Heidi Lovelace.
Heidi was born on January 9, 1991 in Edwardsburg, Michigan.
She was trained by Billy Roc and Ohio Valley Wrestling and made her pro wrestling debut in 2010.
During her career, Heidi has worked for wrestling promotions like Shimmer Women Athletes, Shine Wrestling, Chikara, Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW) and Stardom in Japan.
The WWE announced on January 4th, 2017, that she had signed with them.
Cheree Crowley was born on May 6th, 1988 in Auckland, New Zealand.
In wrestling circles, this five foot six, 132 pound beauty is better known as "Evie".
Evie started wrestling in 2007 for the Auckland wrestling promotion Impact Pro Wrestling.
Since then she has worked for Pro Wrestling Alliance Australia, Shimmer Women Athletes, Shine Wrestling and World Wonder Ring Stardom in Japan.
You'll be seeing more of Evie here in the States though.
On December 15, 2016, she signed a contract with the WWE where I think she will be billed under her real name, Cheree Crowley.
You may have never heard of this lady, but she is a wrestling legend.
Melissa Anderson was born on August 17, 1982 in Los Angeles, California.
She is better known as Cheerleader Melissa, or Alissa Flash and Raisha Saeed from TNA.
Although you may know her as the masked luchadora Mariposa on Lucha Underground.
Melissa was trained by "The Fallen Angel" Christopher Daniels, Billy Anderson, Robert Thompson, Daniel Bryan and Mariko Yoshida.
She made her pro wrestling debut on August 17, 1999 and has gone on to work for just about every major wrestling promotion in the world.

Five foot five, 150 pound Toni Rossall was born on October 19th, 1995, in Auckland, New Zealand.
She is better known by her ring name Toni Storm.
Toni made her wrestling debut at the age of 13...then moved to England where she was trained by Dean Allmark.
Since her debut, she has held the All Action Wrestling Women's Championship, the British Empire Wrestling Women's Championship and the World Wonder Ring Stardom World Championship, among many others.
In 2014, 2015 and 2017 worked for the WWE, the last time being a contestant in the Mae Young Classic.
