The Fastest Rising Stars in the Early Days of All Elite Wrestling (AEW)

All Elite Wrestling is a new upstart promotion owned by Tony Khan and headed by Cody Rhodes, Brandi Rhodes, The Young Bucks and Kenny Omega.

Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D.

Britt Baker was the first ever female talent that All Elite Wrestling ever signed.

In a way being a dentist is part of her gimmick but outside the ring she is indeed a certified Doctor of Dental Medicine. She works for Town Park Dental which has a clinic in 12950 East Colonial Drive Suite 124 Orlando, FL 32826.

She works four 10-hour days at her practice and is closed on Wednesdays for AEW Dynamite tapings.

Baker credits AEW for letting her do dentistry as well as wrestling.

Britt Baker was initially a babyface.

She broke out when she had a heel turn and became a dentist with a "better than you" gimmick. She became the "role model." She pictured herself as the perfect person and made fun of her opponents and Tony Schiavone.

Her finisher is called the lockjaw and is a version of the mandible claw.

Though Britt is still a bit green, she has shown tremendous improvement as she has been coached by her boyfriend Adam Cole and by Chris Jericho.

She eventually captured the AEW Women's World Championship on May 30, 2021 by dethroning Hikaru Shida. She has maintained an iron grip on the title with the help of her flunkies Jamie Hayter and Rebel.

Darby Allin

Darby Allin's story is actually tragic. A young Darby was involved in a traumatic vehicular accident where his uncle was intoxicated and died while drunk driving. Fortunately Allin survived.

He commemorates the event with a skull designed face paint on half of his face as he was scarred by the incident.

Darby has drawn comparisons to fellow daredevil Jeff Hardy.

Despite being only 5'8" and weighing less than 200 pounds, Allin has become a larger than life character.

He has had some epic matches with Cody Rhodes and was TNT Champion for half a year before being dethroned by Miro.

Darby was placed under the Icon Sting's tutelage and this has helped propel this young man's career.

"Jungle Boy" Jack Perry

"Jungle Boy" Jack Perry is the son of actor Luke Perry, who was most famous for portraying Dylan McKay in the hit series Beverly Hills, 90210.

Even as a young boy, Jack was a wrestling fan. There are even pictures of him in/ WWE events with his family.

Jungle Boy is over with the crowd for his wrestling style and charisma. He has a long way to go in terms of developing good promo skills though.

He could often be seen with his cohorts in the Jurassic Express namely Luchasaurus and Marko Stunt. Jungle Boy would often be on top of Luchasaurus' shoulders looking towards the ring and the crowd.

Tony Khan saw tremendous potential in the twenty something year old wrestler and even gifted him with licensed music "Tarzan Boy" by Baltimora. This was the same music he used in the independent scene.

Jungle Boy is an extremely athletic wrestler who can do acrobatic moves as well as submission moves.

He will be a big star someday once he develops promo skills or gets a credible mouthpiece.

"Hangman" Adam Page

"Hangman" Adam Page was a known wrestler even before he stepped into AEW as he had stint with Ring of Honor, New Japan Pro-Wrestling and Pro Wrestling Guerrilla.

He was also one of the prominent members of the Bullet Club.

When AEW started in 2019, they needed a credible champion who was a household name so the inaugural champion was Chris Jericho. Hangman was the runner-up though.

This loss made Page's character an alcoholic and he spent his early run in AEW as a tag team specialist with his friend Kenny Omega.

Page is depicted as a cowboy on television but was once a high school teacher before wrestling full time.

Hangman had another great chance at the title when he wrestled Kenny Omega for a title shot at John Moxley. He lost to Omega and Omega went on to become champion.

After two years, everything came full circle where Hangman beat Omega for the AEW title.

Page's time took two years but the wait was well worth it.

Maxwell Jacob Friedman (MJF)

Maxwell Jacob Friedman is perhaps the guy with the highest upside among all of the homegrown AEW stars.

He has drawn comparisons to The Miz due to his looks as well as his mic skills.

MJF is oozing charisma and has an awesome heel character.

He is so good that even AEW detractors such as Jim Cornette are praising him.

MJF is one of the few wrestlers who stay in character even when off television. This adds to his credibility.

Despite being only in his twenties, MJF has held his own against the best promos in the business such as Chris Jericho and CM Punk.

WWE actually had a chance to snag Friedman as he had an audition tape for Tough Enough and was an extra in WWE television as security for Samoa Joe but they never capitalized on the chance.
