Paul Eells - Beloved Voice of the Razorbacks

September 24, 1935 - July 31, 2006

A hub to remember a unique man who felt like everyone's friend and who will be remembered and honored forever by everyone whose lives he touched.

He was a sportscaster for the Arkansas Razorbacks, or better known as, "The Voice of the Razorbacks," announcing play-by-plays to many enthusiastic sports fans.

Paul will be remembered for his phrases:  "Touchdown, Arkansas!", "Oh, My!", and "Holy Smokes!"

Paul's life unexpectedly ended on 7-31-06 in a car wreck on I-40 in Russellville, Arkansas.  It may never be known the extent to which his death affected Arkansans as they mourned his loss and still mourn, almost 4 years later.  It's been hard for many devoted Razorback fans to hear anyone else announce the plays.

After his death in 2006, Paul Eells was inducted into the Arkansas Sports Hall of Fame and Governor Mike Huckabee made September 2 "Paul Eells Day."
