Week 18 has concluded in the NFL. We saw a lot of teams lock in their playoff positions while we saw a lot of them get sent home to the couch. We saw some high quality games this week as the Jags ruin the Colts playoff hopes, the SF 49ers continue to own the Rams, the Chargers and Raiders go to OT with the fate of theirs and the Steelers playoffs on the line. Let's get it started!!!
Upset of the Week (JAX 26 IND 11)
The Colts were riding high into this game. They beat the Bills, Cardinals, and Patriots and they had a lot of teams scared for them in the playoffs. Fast forward to now they have been eliminated from playoff contention. All they had to do was beat the lowly Jacksonville Jaguars. Trevor Lawrence had one of his best games of the year and of course it happens without Urban Meyer. The Colts had the most pro bowlers in the NFL including a MVP candidate in Jonathan Taylor, one of the best O-Lines in the league, one of the best defenses in the league, and Carson Wentz who was having a good season. Another disappointing season for INDY.
Game of the Week (SF 27 LAR 24)
THE SAN FRANCISCO 49ers OWN THE LOS ANGELES RAMS!!!!!!! Deebo Samuel had himself a game to help San Fran earn a playoff berth and a date with the Dallas Cowboys. The Rams was even leading after halftime which Sean McVay is undefeated after leading after the first half but not anymore. The defense the second half held the Rams in check and the Rams had no answer for San Fran's run. SF could be a very sneaky team in the playoffs.
Dummy of the Week (Miami Dolphins)
There was plenty of candidates for DUMMY of the Week like the Colts or Chargers but the DUMMY OF THE WEEK made themselves known a day after the regular season ended on Black Monday where NFL Coaches get fired. MIAMI FIRED BRIAN FLORES. He had two winning seasons for his last two seasons. The best two seasons Miami had in a while. 19 wins to be exact which is better than a lot of their previous ones. The players loved him and so did the rest of the NFL. He even had a 4-2 record against his former mentor Bill Belichick. Wherever he goes he will be great. Miami ownership needs to be questioned and held accountable because this makes no sense.
Hero of the Week (Rich Bisaccia)
Not only does Rich Bisaccia deserve hero of the week but he may deserve hero of the year as well. With all the drama and distractions the Raiders had this year they somehow managed to get into the playoffs and Darren Waller missed a number of games as well. The former special teams coach led this team to a clutch Sunday Night W against the Chargers to clinch their playoff berth. They may not have had the best record but with all the circumstances the Raiders were supposed to be dead in the water but here we are. Bengals vs Raiders up next.
