NFL Awards Predictions

Welcome to Baller Central!!!! Basketball and Football articles created by Phil and Akeem

We have released most of our predictions for this up and coming NFL season. You know we couldn't forget about the awards!!!! There is a lot of talent in the NFL so it will be hard to narrow some down but we chose these 6 awards to predict the winner from. Let's get started!!!

Coach of the Year

Coach of the year award last year was Kevin Stefanski of the Browns

Phil's Pick

I am going with the Bills head coach Sean McDermott. The Bills were one game away from the Super Bowl last year and I believe they will be better this year. I expect Josh Allen to have a MVP type year and Sean McDermott will be a factor why. Expect the Bills and Sean to make some noise this year.

Akeem's Pick

I'm going to say Mike Vrabel, coach of the Titans. I feel like with the new addition of Julio Jones and the massive talent that is Derrick Henry and AJ Brown, they may have what it takes to do something this year.

Comeback Player of the Year

Last year's award winner was QB Alex Smith.

Phil's Pick

The Calfmaster himself Saquon Barkley will win comeback player of the year after tearing his ACL the year before. He will have to carry this Giants offense especially if Danny Dimes doesn't show up so expect him to put his team on the back. I see him rushing for 1000+ yards and having 20+ total TDs.

Akeem's Pick

I'm going with my teams QB. He's coming off of a gruesome injury to his ankle. Whether you like the team or not, no one wants to see someone go down with an injury like that. It was great to watch him start the season off with such promise. And now with him making the money he should, watching him play under Mike McCarthy, should be even more fun.

Offensive Player of the Year

Derrick Henry was last year's Offensive Player of the Year.

Phil's Pick

We got to LA to find the Offensive player of the year. Justin Herbert will have a huge second year just how most do in the last couple of years. Count on him to continue the trend. He has great weapons in Mike Williams, Keenan Allen, and his RBs. He already had flashes last year this is the year he makes a case for OPOY.

Akeem's Pick

I would actually have to agree. And it's nitmjust because I drafted him in one of my leagues. I really feel like with the options he has as far as weapons on the team, he's pissed to have a great year.

Defensive Player of the Year

Aaron Donald was your winner last year.

Aaron Donald was your winner last year.

Phil's Pick

TJ WATT FELT DISRESPECTED LAST YEAR!!!! This will give him the motivation to steal one away from Aaron Donald this year. He is the lead of the Steelers defense and with the offense looking worse and worse he will have to do whatever it takes to keep the Steelers afloat. Keep an eye on TJ this season.

Akeem's Pick

While I do agree with Phil on TJ Watt having a cup on his shoulders. I will have to respectfully disagree on him getting his revenge this year. I'm going to have to go with Myles Garrett. The Browns had flashes of a team with potential. So I feel like what isn't getting done on offense, the defense is responsible for picking up the slack. And since he's the star, it's gonna restmon his shoulders.

Rookie of the Year

Justin Herbert claimed the award last year.

Phil's Pick

Trevor Lawrence is my pick if it was not obvious. He has some decent weapons in DJ Chark and Shenault. Plus he has second year RB James Robinson and his teammate Travis Eitienne from Clemson. He has the tools to have a decent rookie year it is up to the O-Line and defense to give him time to do so.

Akeem's Pick

I'm going to have to say Trey Lance. I'm really interested in seeing how his season shapes up. With one of the best tight ends in George Kittke he definitely has a great option for yardage is concerned. The development that can happen is crazy.

MVP

Aaron Rodgers claimed the award last year.

Phil's Pick

I have for my MVP pick the man from Buffalo. I am going with Josh Allen. He has improved every season since coming in the league and will have his break through year. He has a phenomenal WR in Stefon Diggs plus a lot of complimentary pieces they just got to get the run game going. I have him having amazing stats this year as they go for a SB in Buffalo.

Akeem's Pick

Is it possible to have my comeback and MVP be the same person? Well, I'm doing it anyway. I'm grown. But yes, I think Dak will have an amazing year. As previously stated, he has a lot to prove. Coming off injury and just the general gripe of being on the cowboys. So I’m all in on Dak. And even if he doesn’t have an MvP worthy season, he’s still going to be my QB.

Those are our picks for what we believe are the most important awards for the season!!! Let us know how we did. Did you agree with us or disagree? How many do you think we will get right and wrong? We will find out soon enough.
