NFL season is right around the corner!!!!!!!! So before the season gets started we will be giving you our AFC and NFC thoughts. As well as awards and Super Bowl predictions. We will not waste any more of your time with an intro so lets get started with the AFC!!
As it is sad for me to say being a Patriots fan with all their additions this off season and draft my pick to win the AFC East is the Buffalo Bills. They have a very good offense led by Josh Allen and Stefon Diggs. All they have to do is get that run game started and they could even be more dangerous. Also they need to strengthen up their defense to what it was a couple years ago before Diggs was in town. They combine that defense plus their already great offense and the Bills will be breaking tables all over the playoffs.
I want to go with the Bills as well. But there's a little voice in the back of my mind that's saying "pick the Dolphins." Now the question is, do I listen to the voice? You know what? I feel like taking a risk so I'm going to do just that. I'm saying the Dolphins will be the team to beat. They have the threats to do it with Devante Parker and Will Fuller (after this suspension). But if they can get all their pieces working in synch, they can be a problem.
CLEVELAND THIS ONE IS FOR YOU!!!!!!!! I was such a huge fan of Cleveland last year and with all of the improvements they made in the offseason plus getting OBJ back I am picking them to win the division this year. They have an amazing O-Line, a growing QB in Baker, one of the best RB duos in Hunt and Chubb, decent pass catchers in Landry, OBJ, Hooper, and Njoku, and the piece to finish this is their amazing defense who added pieces in John Johnson, Greg Newsome, Jadeveon Clowney and more. Look for the Dawg Pound to make some noise this year.
Even though I'm not a Cleveland fan, I am going to have to agree with Phil on this one. I just think they have all the parts of a team that could really make some waves. It's just a matter of whether or not they can stay healthy and consistent in their playing.
There is only one obvious pick here. The team from Missouri. The Chiefs have represented the AFC in the Super Bowl in the last two years and will do so until they convince me otherwise. They will also continue to dominate their division until they continue to convince me otherwise. They fixed their biggest problem in the Super Bow in the offseason by bolstering their O-Line by trading for Orlando Brown, adding Kyle Long out of retirement and signing Joe Thuney from the Patriots. They look even more dangerous than ever with a way better O-Line.
Of course I'm going with the Chiefs. I think everyone, including the people in the division are also expecting them to win. There's just too many things right on that team for them not to walk away with it. They have arguably the best QB in the league, and he has some really really good people to throw the ball to. Kansas City for the win!!!
RUN HENRY RUN. The Titans are the favorite to win this divsion and deservedly so. This division will come down to the Titans and Colts. The Colts have a great defense but a lot of questions on offense including QB Carson Wentz. He could be amazing or played how he did in Philly. The Titans have one of the best offenses in the league with Julio, Henry, and AJ Brown leading it. The defense just has to perform better and they could be a problem.
At this point, its Tennessee's fight to lose. They are the only team I think that have the tools to make some noise in the division. Jacksonville isn't expected to do much. Indy is...well... And Houston isn't much of a threat to anyone other than themselves at this point. So RUN HENRY RUN!!!
AFC Wild Cards
These are my three wild card picks. Ravens will secure the first wild card in my opinion because they will be in a back and forth battle with the Browns for the division but the Ravens will get the consolation prize. They traded Orlando Brown and didn't make any significant changes on offense so I don't expect them to win the division. The Chargers are a huge dark horse team for me. Justin Herbert showed flashes last year and I believe will have a great season and if the defense could be decent which I expect them to I see them getting a playoff berth. As for the Patriots I see them sneaking in the playoffs barely. Do not ask me why or how but I just do. (BIAS PICK) It all falls on the QB play for NE. Will it be Cam or Mac we will find out this upcoming season.
I think the Chargers have a real shot at sneaking in the wild card. Herbert showed flashes of being capable of leading a team. And with Ekeler and Allen on the receiving end, they have weapons to move the ball down field. The Ravens have to prove to me that Lamar Jackson can do things with his arm on a more consistent basis. And they have to get some more people involved in their offense. I'm picking the Steelers to take the last spot because they ended up winning the division last year. I don't see this happening again but I definitely think they will have a decent enough team to get some people talking.
Those are our picks for the AFC this year make sure you stay tuned for out NFC picks!!!!!! We are very excited for the NFL to be back!!!!
