Free agency has now been going on for more than a week now and a lot of moves have been made. Players getting contract extensions, players getting traded, and players signing with new teams. We will be giving you our two teams each that we believe won and lost free agency. There is still plenty of free agency left so we are going off of what we know now.
The Boston Celtics made some moves early with trading away Kemba Walker for basically Horford and trading for Josh Richardson. After that they were really quiet as well as rumors running around about Marcus Smart's availability. They brought back Enes Kanter to help with depth at the big man position but they still stand with problems at their PG an C position. They are rumored to be talking with former Lakers G Dennis Schroeder but he won't help as much after an abysmal year last year.
This is basically the same team the Blazers had last year minus Enes Kanter. The Blazers did nothing to help prove to Damian Lillard that the Blazers are competitive and that he should stay. So with no moves to improve their roster this just gives Dame more ammo to leave. Expect Dame to have a frustrating season.
Los Angeles Lakers
Lakers unexpectedly got sent packing in the first round with an unhealthy AD and Lebron. After that they send a lot of players packing and send in a new regime but very familiar. They also traded for Russell Westbrook. They signed a bunch of former Lakers in Wayne Ellington, Trevor Ariza, Dwight Howard, and others. Also to solve their shooting problems they signed Malik Monk, Kendrick Nunn, and Carmelo Anthony. Their has been a lot of doubt about this team's age and floor spacing ability but if anyone can make this work it is Lebron James.
The Bulls have had the busiest year. The traded for All Star Nikola Vucevic before the trade deadline. To match that they sign Lonzo Ball, DeMar Derozan, and Alex Caruso. A lot of people are loving the Bulls offseason including Baller Central. Lavine and Vuc have a reliable PG that can make the offense flow and can hold his own on defense. Plus they are adding a third scoring option in Derozan plus a decent scoring and defensive guard in Caruso. The Bulls are looking to get back to being relevant and with these moves the wait could be a lot shorter.
Those have been our winners and losers for NBA Free Agency. Did you agree with us or disagree? Who did your favorite team sign? We are in the beginning of Summer League so you know that means we are one step closer to NBA Basketball once again. Feel free to enjoy some of the best nba signings of all time.
