Welcome to Baller Central!!!! Basketball and Football articles created by Phil and Akeem
The NBA season has concluded with the Milwaukee Bucks being crowned champions!!!!!!! Giannis Antetokounmpo was crowned Finals MVP as well. Now with the season wrapped up we can give our review of how the season went. We will be giving you three good things and three bad things we saw in this past season. This season had it's ups and downs but nonetheless another season is in the books as a new season approaches as the NBA Draft is coming near.
Fans were Back!!!
After a season where Covid struck and the playoffs went through the Bubble fans were back at limited capacity then at full capacity. Players missed the fans and fans missed the players. There was an energy missing from the playoff bubble and it finally came back. Of course there were some fans who took advantage of that and acted like idiots but there were also some iconic fans moments like the Suns in four guy.
This year's rookie class was led by LaMelo Ball, Anthony Edwards, and James Wiseman. Eventually LaMelo Ball won rookie of the year but there was plenty of great moments from this class. Anthony Edwards had a dunk of the year moment and played great for Minnesota. James Wiseman had his moments but cut short due to injury. Also Tyrese Haliburton was the third best rookie in our eyes as he played alongside Fox.
New Faces Part Two
Not only there was the rookie class but we saw a lot of new teams winning and showing up in the playoffs. We saw the Knicks have a great season exceeding expectations and claiming the fourth seed. We saw the Suns who were mediocre make it all the way to the finals with the addition of Chris Paul. We also saw the Bucks make the finals and win it after 50 years since 1971. The LA Clippers made the conference finals after a second round knockout curse was lifted. It was just nice to see new faces in the playoffs and not the expected Lakers vs Nets Finals that everyone was saying.
The covid protocol was not only trouble for fantasy teams but it was also trouble for the NBA teams. For fantasy there were times where star players were in protocol and cost fantasy owners matchups and fantasy matchups. As for the NBA teams it messed up team's chemistry and their momentum. Plus it takes away the player's momentum to try to get back into playing shape and stamina.
All Star Weekend
All Star Weekend/ Day just felt rushed, packed, and not necessary. Dunk Contest felt underwhelming and the only good part was the three point contest. This just felt like a cash grab to make up for last year. This should have been spent as players spending time with family or vacation instead of forcing an all star day on us.
One of the biggest problems of this season was injuries. We lost a lot of players in the regular season and a record of players being injured or out in the playoffs. An early start to the season after the bubble and players were not physically ready and it shows. At the end of the day the show and game does go on and you got to work with what you have and the Bucks and Suns took complete advantage of that. They mostly stayed healthy and played well and made it to the finals. Let's hope that everyone comes back healthy next season and they get a good amount of rest. We want every season to be better than the last and health should be the top priority to do so.
Those were our thoughts on the past NBA season and we are looking forward to the upcoming one and hoping it goes better than the last one. To end the article make sure you check out the funniest moments of the season in the video down below. Cheers and congrats to the Bucks and we are already excited for next season.
