Glory Kickboxing was founded in 2012. It is "the world's premier kickboxing league". The events can be watched live online.
Glory maintains six different weight classes. The biggest stars of Glory are the heavyweights Rico Verhoeven (the Netherlands), Badr Hari (Morocco) and Jamal Ben Saddik (Morocco). One of the biggest events in the history of Glory Kickboxing was "Glory Collision 2: Rico Verhoeven vs Badr Hari" on December 21, 2019. It took place in the sold out GeldreDome Stadium Arnhem (the Netherlands), in front of 30.000 fans. In the Netherlands it drew more 3,5 million live viewers on tv. Rico Verhoeven won by TKO (Technical Knock-Out) because of an injury of Badr Hari.
Rico Verhoeven: King of Kickboxing
Ricardo (Rico) Verhoeven was born April 10, 1989 in Bergen op Zoom (the Netherlands). He holds the Glory Kickboxing Heavyweight World Title since 2014. The nickname of Rico Verhoeven is The King of Kickboxing. His professional kickboxing record is 57 wins (17 KO's) and 10 losses. His height is 6 feet 5 inches (1.96 m), his weight is 261 lb (118.2 kg) and his reach is 77 inches (196 cm).
The main rivals of Verhoeven are the Moroccans Badr Hari and Jamal Ben Saddik. Rico Verhoeven would fight a trilogy match with Jamal Ben Saddik on 30 January 2021, but Jamal withdrew due to a back injury.
Badr Hari: Golden Boy and Bad Boy
Badr Hari was born December 8, 1984 in Amsterdam (the Netherlands). His parents are from Morocco. Badr Hari is regarded as one of the greatest and most spectacular kickboxers of all time. One of his nicknames is The Golden Boy. His kickboxing record is 106 wins (92 by knock-out), 15 losses and one no contest.
Badr Hari is a controversial figure. He has been arrested multiple times on various assault charges. Hari was sentenced two years in jail for his rol in an assault. He left prison in the autumn of 2017.
Badr Hari failed a drug test in the spring of 2018, prior to his "Glory Comeback Event: Badr is Back". He was issued a 19-month suspension.
Jamal Ben Saddik: The Goliath
Jamal Ben Saddik is a Belgian-Moroccan kickboxer. He was born October 3, 1990 in Antwerp (Belgium). His height is 6 feet and 9 inches. The nickname of Jamal is 'The Goliath'. His kickboxing record is 36 wins (29 by knock-out) en 8 losses. Jamal Ben Saddik has won the 2018 Glory Heavyweight Grand Prix.
How to watch Glory live?
The events of Glory were on tv for many years. In December 2020 however, Glory decided to change their broadcast strategy. Most big events in 2021 are exclusively available live online on PPV (pay-per-view). A live stream of each event can be purchased on the websites of Glory Kickboxing and their official broadcast partners.
Global live stream FITE Tv (English)
FITE Tv is the official global distributor of the Glory premium pay-per-view events. Kickboxing fans around the world can purchase an English PPV-livestream of these events on the FITE-website. They can watch the live fights on many different devices, including smartphones, laptops, tablets, Smart Tv's and game consoles.
Spike: Dutch live stream
Spike Tv Benelux is the distributor of the official Glory-livestream in the Netherlands and Flanders. The Glory Kickboxing fans can purchase the Dutch PPV-livestream of the events on the Spike-website. This stream contains Dutch commentary and analysis.
Live stream La Sueur (French) or Sport Extra (Romanian)
La Sueur is the distributor of the official French live stream of these kickboxing events. La Sueur is a French online lifestyle magazine with much attention for combat sports (like the UFC and Glory Kickboxing). This stream contains French commentary.
Sport Extra is the official distributor of the Romanian live stream of Glory Kickboxing. Sport Extra is a Romanian sports platform (tv and online), with much attention for kickboxing (Glory, WLF, One Championship, Dynamite and Colosseum) and MMA (Bellator, RXF, One and UCMMA).
Live stream Kijk or UFC Tv? No, not anymore
For several years there was an official free live stream of Glory Kickboxing-events available for the Dutch fans on the website of Kijk (Talpa). They also had a free live stream for all of the European Union on their Kijk-app. This contract has ended in the summer of 2020. The events of Glory in 2021 can't be watched on Kijk.
There used to be an official live stream of many Glory-events available on UFC Tv (Fight Pass). This contract also has ended in the summer of 2020. The events in 2021 can't be watched on UFC Tv.
