Fantasy Football Players to Draft

Welcome to Baller Central!!!! Basketball and Football articles created by Phil and Akeem

NFL season is right around the corner and you know what that means. FANTASY FOOTBALL IS OFFICIALLY BACK!!!!!!!! We here at Baller Central are huge fantasy football fans as we have been in the same league for years now. Also we will hold a fantasy football league of our own as well so make sure you guys stay tuned to that. For this article we will giving you each a player you should consider drafting this year. This won't be the obvious ones so if you are wondering where players like Mahomes and Hopkins are they are the obvious ones. Let's get into it!!!

Quarterback

The QBs are known to get the highest amount of points in fantasy football.

Phil's Pick

My pick to consider drafting as a backup or maybe a QB1 if you don't have any options is the new Carolina QB in Sam Darnold. He is finally free from the NY Jets and immediately is getting better weapons. Plus he will be reuniting with former teammate Robby Anderson. DJ Moore is no slouch either. He is also getting a wayyyyy better RB in CMC so expect a lot of RB screens that can explode for more yards or even a TD. He is my dark horse pick to be a top 5 or 10 QB this year fantasy wise.

Akeem's Pick

I was going to go with Mahomes. Not even going to lie. But because I'm in a good mood, I'm going to go with my teams QB, Dak Prescott. He was on pace to shatter records last year before his injury. And with him coming back with something to prove, it'll be fun watching him do so. He has plenty of receivers at his disposal so expect him to put up some big numbers.

Running Back

RBs are one of the most coveted spots in fantasy football always one of the two positions drafted first.

Trey Sermon from San Fran could be a very sneaky late pick. This man has workhorse potential and has one advantage over a lot of RBs. He has a lot more health than most RBs because he wasn't used as much during college so he has less wear and tear and a lot more miles left in him. He could possibly steal the lead role in San Fran and potentially be a league winner.

Akeem's Pick

Because I drafted him, I'm going to go with Tony Pollard. Wow... Way to be diverse with your team selection here. Sorry guys. But you can't deny that he's a good handcuff to have especially if you drafted Zeke early, which in one of my leagues, I believe he was 2nd or 3rd to go. So although Pollard may not play a big role, he will definitely see some time and more depending on how Zeke holds up this season.

Wide Reciever

WRs are the second position usually drafted in leagues.

Jerry Jeudy is for sure a player that you need to monitor. He struggled a bit last year with drops but this year is different. He has more chemistry with Drew Lock now and Courtland Sutton will be back so all the heat from CBs won't be going to him. He is an amazing route runner and just had a rough rookie year like most players do. Team's will be more focused on Sutton so expect Jeudy to take advantage. All he needs is better play from Drew Lock and he should be in for a fun season.

Akeem's Pick

Will Fuller. You've heard his name before. And at one point he was winning everyone games because of his explosive ability. And with him being on Miami, we know that health isn't a guarantee so he's poised to be one of the top targets. Especially if Devante Parker struggles with his injuries again. We won't be able to see until after his continued suspension is done (week 1). So if you draft him keep that in mind.

Tight End

Tight ends are very important because there are only a few productive ones.

The Saints are down an elite pass catcher as Michael Thomas is out with an injury for a while so what does that mean? Enter Adam Trautman. Young TE that will get a lot passes thrown his way as being a security blanket with no Michael Thomas. Alvin Kamara can not do it all and TreQuan Smith is your next best option so expect Trautman to be heavily involved.

Akeem's Pick

I would have to go with Jared Cook. Hear me out on this!!! I know he's 36 now, which for any football player is well into their career. But with him going to the Chargers and them no longer having Hunter henry, that leaves a massive gap in the position that's going to have to be filled by someone. I obviously don't think he's going to be a TE1, but he has potential to be a TE2 with enough targets.

Those are our picks for players you should draft this year in case the obvious ones are gone. We will be doing the opposite version of this article with players you should avoid. Good luck to all of your fantasy teams and hope all of your players you want you get to draft. Happy drafting everyone!!!!
