Author is a football lover and is playing the FPL game since the last 3 years
Another double gameweek, starting this Saturday. As the premier league moves into its 2/3rd of the schedule, a few matches have been added this week which were lost due to a covid 19 outbreak at some clubs. A number of teams will be playing twice between this Saturday and the 4th of March which will make the choice of scouts even more confusing. Following are the fourteen teams that will be playing twice this week :-
1) Goalkeeper - Kasper Schmeichel
Leicester City's captain Kasper Schmeichel's brilliance is well known to everyone who is following the premier league for some years. With 101 FPL points this season so far, he's the 4th highest scorer in the goalkeepers tally. This week Leicester city will be up against Arsenal and Burnley with two more opponents in the coming week are a bottom five side. If you want to change your goalkeeper and keep someone for a longer period, the 5.5M priced Denmark goalie can be a good option to get in.
2) Defender - John Stones
With so many options Pep Guardiola has in his Manchester City side, it is always a risk to put in a city player and be safe from the infamous "Pep Roulette". John Stones' chances to start in both of the games this week increased when he was benched in City's UCL match this Wednesday night. Ruben Dias has got most of the headlines and without a doubt has transformed City's defense into a rock but let's not forget John Stone's contribution who kept 12 clean sheets out of the last 13 with Dias as partner and Ederson in goal. Priced at just 5.2M , he's also cheaper than Dias and if you are loading your team with high budget attacking players, someone like Stones in defense can be a very valuable asset to have.
3) Midfielder - Bertrand Traore
Aston Villa will be without their star playmaker Jack Grealish in atleast one of the two games they play this week. Their second most impressive player in the midfielder Bertrand Traore will have a huge responsibility to play a pivot role with Ross Barkley and trouble the opposition backline. Coming off a goal against Leicester City last week, the manager Dean Smith and the Villa fans will have a lot of expectations from the midfielder priced at a mere 5.9M. Villains are up against Leeds United who are not known for their defensive prowess and the bottom ranked team of the table Sheffield United this week which can tempt you to give The Lions midfielder a go.
4) Forward - Dominic Calvert - Lewin
The Evertonian striker has been the most important player in his team's successful campaign so far. Priced at a mere 7.7M , Calvert-Lewin has earned 124 FPL points so far which are just 2 shy from his total points tally of the last season. Although he's coming back from an injury but should be fit enough to start in both of his games this week. His two opponents are Southampton and West Bromwich Albion, two teams which are infamously famous for conceding a lot of goals this season. A clinical striker like Calvert-Lewin can really make the errors of a vulnerable defense pay and in my opinion is a strong contender to be given the captain's armband this week.
5) Forward - Harry Kane
The star English forward started the season with a bang and at one point of time looked a certain contender for the Golden Boot title. An injury halted his season then he got into a little rough patch. This week's fixtures ,for the striker who is priced at 11.1M , might bring his golden run back again. Spurs are playing Burnley at home and Fulham away, these two teams play the low block well but are also in the bottom 6 teams of the table. Jose Mourinho will definitely look at an experienced and lethal forward like Kane to put the ball back into the net whenever they create a chance. Son & Kane's partnership got many FPL managers so many points in the beginning of the season and this week can be a restart of all that.
