The Final Word

As of this update it is completely unclear as to who will win the NFC South division title. It will likely be multiple weeks before the picture comes into focus slightly. The heavy favorite to win the division title is the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Having a hall of fame quarterback and a stable of offensive weapons makes the offense very potent and able to pile on points while the defense has been better than average, showing a knack for clogging up rushing lanes. The other three teams will have to pull out a miracle in order to be mildly relevant. Each team has some bright spots but at the end of the day none look poised to head the division this year.

Currently all teams in this division are tied for the lead spot. Looking to the NFC Wildcard spots, all teams are tied with 0 wins while only the Los Angeles Rams are 0,5 games behind in the race following a loss in week 1.

The Current biggest headlines for the NFC South:

- Tom Brady unretires and returns, looking to add to his Super Bowl totals.

- Chris Godwin will be a gametime decision to play in Week 1 as he recovers from an injury.

- Baker Mayfield will be playing against his old team in week 1 and will be playing with a chip on his shoulder.

- Ex NFL coach Sean Payton picks the New Orleans Saints to win the division, not surprising since it is his old team.

- Approximately 72 percent of analysts have picked the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to win the division.

-Analyst Kyle Brandt surprisingly chooses the Carolina Panthers to win the division.

- Christian McCaffrey appeared on the injury report for a cut to his leg. The report has been merely protocol according to those close to the organization as all injuries must be submitted or fines will be distributed.

- C Eric McCoy has agreed to a 5 year contract extension with the New Orleans Saints.
