Wisdom for Creativity
“I wisdom dwell with prudence and find out knowledge of witty inventions”
Creativity (which also means originality, imaginativeness, Inspiration, Ingenuity, Resourcefulness etc.) is the ability to originate new ideas for outstanding results. It is the innovative and imaginative functioning of the human mind for exploits, which is the cream of distinct and excellent living. It is also the creative ability of God planted in the spirit of man, which has its root in the covenant relationship with God. It finds expression when it encounters the wisdom of God.
Wisdom is the key to the discovery of the hidden treasures of knowledge and divine creativity. It is sad to see Christian businessmen and women, artisans etc. groping in darkness and struggling with failure and its twin sister frustration, simply due to lack of ideas and innovation.
When you lack ideas in life you become idle and that idleness breeds insignificance. You will not be insignificant, because there is a flood of innovative ideas and divine creativity available to you as a covenant child of God. This avalanche of ingenuity can only be contacted through the wisdom of God. No wonder the Bible says: “Wisdom is the principal thing, therefore get wisdom and in all thy getting get understanding
Life in God without the wisdom of God is like a man standing before a locked door with all his lifetime provision behind that door but without the keys. Without wisdom, it is impossible to access the deep things and treasures of God. Bible says:
“And wisdom and knowledge shall be the stability of thy time, and strength of salvation: the fear of the Lord is his treasure.”
“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.”
The above scriptures logically imply that the fear of the Lord produces wisdom and wisdom gives us access to the treasures of God.
I want this fact to be registered and established in your spirit and mind that true creativity only answers to the wisdom of God. Anything short of that will be a mal-adaptation and will be short-lived.
The deep things of God and treasures of the kingdom, though free, yet not obtained on a silver platter, neither are they on display for any reckless kingdom ignoramus to access them. They are concealed from the natural eyes and mind and only accessible by the spiritual exercise of the mind in the word of God. Bible says in Proverbs 25: 2 that
“It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honour of kings is to search out a matter.”
Searching may lead to discovery, but outstanding searching may lead to outstanding discoveries.
By what means do kings search out a matter? Listen to what the wisest king that ever lived and walked on the face of this earth has to say.
“I the Preacher was king over Israel in Jerusalem. And I gave my heart to SEEK and SEARCH OUT by WISDOM concerning all things that are done under the heaven…”
Ecclesiastes 1: 12, 13
So then, the key to searching out and accessing the depths of God is wisdom. You cannot be ignorant and make any meaningful impact in life. ‘Wise up’ and become the envy of your generation.
I see God in these end times empower the children of the kingdom with cunning and insight for divine creativity. I see new inventions and discoveries in the fields of medicine and information technology spring forth by scientists who have contacted the wisdom of God.
I see businesses of believers flourish through contact with this ‘strange’ wisdom of God. Marriages and families that were hitherto heading towards the rocks are going to be revived as the people of God contact the wisdom of God for creativity. You will not be left out of this outpouring of divine creativity for a colourful destiny in Christ.
We have, so far, been establishing the fact that there is a direct, positive, correlation between wisdom and creativity. I now have the singular pleasure to take you on a prophetic excursion through the scriptures as we investigate the practical working of the above established fact.
May we begin by looking at the source of the creative power of the master creator himself. God is the creator and originator of all creativity. He is the sole copyright owner of both divine creativity and human ingenuity.
Genesis 1: 1 says “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.”
Hebrew 11: 3 also says “Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear”
The two scriptures above tell us how God created all things but what they didn’t tell us is the source of the skill and ingenuity that was responsible for the order and beauty in God’s perfect creation.
I believe God sat down and figured out the whole of creation systematically before going into action. If not, he would have finished creating the animals before remembering that there was no provender to feed them. However, because God possesses infinite wisdom in which lay his creativity, his creation was without flaw, and has been intact to date. God’s creativity is rooted in his infinite wisdom, from which he drew his creative power and skill. This is evidenced in the following scriptures.
“O Lord, how manifold are thy works! In wisdom hast thou made them all: the earth is full of thy riches.”
Psalm 104: 24
“The Lord by wisdom hath founded the earth; by understanding hath he established the heavens. By his knowledge the depths were broken up, and clouds drop down the dew.”
Proverbs 3: 19, 20
“I WISDOM dwell with prudence and find out knowledge of witty inventions…
The Lord possessed ME in the beginning of his way, before his works of old I was set up from everlasting from the beginning, or ever the earth was… Then I was by him, as one brought up with him: I was daily his delight, rejoicing always before him.”
Proverbs 8: 12, 22-30
God’s all-surpassing and incomparable ingenuity as we have seen is rooted in his divine wisdom. This simply tells us that if we are armed with the wisdom of God, we are capable of achieving anything our minds can conceive and believe.
Dear friend, it is the era of wisdom for exploits and you will not be left out in this revolution of creativity. You are set for exploits and you cannot, but shine and excel in your generation. Arise therefore and shine, for your light is come and the glory of the Lord is risen upon you.
The Fathers of our faith, the Patriarchs of old, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob were great achievers with mega results that greatly influenced their generations.
Father Abraham, until his encounter with God, was a peasant farmer with no significant attainment or impact in life. However, after his encounter with God and subsequent obedience to the call, Abraham through his contact with the wisdom of God became hyper-creative in his profession as an agronomist.
This contact with divine creativity changed the social and economic status of Abraham from a mere subsistent farmer to a commercial agronomist with outstanding mind-blowing success. Bible says: “And Abraham was very rich in cattle, in silver and in gold”
Abraham’s senior steward, Eliezer puts it in a more colourful way like this: “And the Lord hath blessed my master greatly, and he is become great: and he hath given him flocks, and herds and silver, and gold and menservants, and maidservants and camels, and asses”
Genesis 24: 35
It is interesting and worth noting here that after encountering the wisdom of God, Abraham’s status changed so dramatically without a change of occupation.
Many folks today think the source of their woes is the job they find themselves in, and so you will meet a man who has changed jobs for about three or four times already, yet his story remains unchanged. As much as I do not dispute the fact that one can find him or herself in the wrong job, the fact still remains clear that the solution to your insignificance in life may not be attributable to your choice of job, because your next door neighbour is doing the same job and progressing amazingly.
I believe you are getting convinced now that your problem is not your job or geographical location but an idea and creativity problem. You simply lack the creative ideas that add cream and colour to one’s life. You must however, note that the creative ideas we are talking about come neither with age, nor by experience on the job through long service. They can only be contacted through divine inspiration by the wisdom of God. Look at what the Bible says:
“I said, Days should speak, and multitude of years should teach wisdom. But there is a spirit in man: and the INSPIRATION of the Almighty giveth them understanding. Great men are not always wise neither do the aged understand judgement”
Job 32: 7-9
I see you being changed into a different man and a different woman right now in Jesus name. Your story and testimony are changing and I see your life take on the true colour and flavour God has ordained for you.
Put your right hand on your head right now and pray this prayer for the inspiration of the Almighty God to come upon you for the stirring of the waters of understanding for the release and flow of divine ideas for creativity.
“Dear Holy Spirit, move strongly in my mental regions right now with divine inspiration for the supernatural release and flow of creative ideas to dissolve mysteries and solve every human problem in my life, in Jesus’ name Amen!”
You are set for a flood of creative ideas in every area of your life and you will not miss this visitation from heaven in Jesus’ mighty name.
“And there was a famine in the land, besides the first famine that was in the days of Abraham. And Isaac went to Abimelech king of the Philistines unto Gerar. And the Lord appeared unto him, and said, Go not down to Egypt; dwell in the land which I will tell thee of: Sojourn in this land, and I will be with thee and bless thee; for unto thee, and unto thy seed. I will give all these countries, and I will perform the oath which I sware unto Abraham thy father;
Genesis 26: 1-3
And Isaac dwelt in Gerar: Then Isaac sowed in the land, and received in the same year an hundredfold: and the Lord blessed him.
And the man waxed great, and went forward and grew until he became very great, for he had possession of flocks, and possession of herds, and great store of servants: and the Philistines envied him
Genesis 26:6, 12-14
Isaac was the legitimate son of promise to Abraham in whom the covenant of God with Abraham was to be fulfilled. He was to continue the lineage of the Abrahamic Covenant and therefore became the sole heir to his father Abraham, amidst seven other sons by Abraham’s concubines.
“And Abraham gave all that he had unto Isaac. But unto the sons of the concubines which Abraham had, Abraham gave gifts, and sent them away from Isaac his son, while he yet lived, eastward, unto the east country.”
As much as we can attribute the source of Isaac’s wealth to Abraham’s wealth he inherited, it is worth mentioning here that Isaac did more to consolidate and multiply the wealth than just living on the inherited wealth. Bible says “An inheritance may be gotten hastily at the beginning; but the end thereof shall not be blessed.”
The above scripture implies that inheritance in itself does not guarantee wealth at the latter end of an heir. I have seen many people who inherited great wealth from their parents or relatives but are a reproach and a by-word today. Dire poverty shall be the companion of a fool who is an heir to great wealth. Isaac was a prodigious accumulator of wealth.
“And the man (Isaac) waxed great, and went forward and grew until he became very great. For he had possession of flocks, and possession of herds, and a great store of servants: and the Philistines envied him. And Abimelech said unto Isaac, Go from us: for thou art much mightier than we.”
Genesis 26: 13, 14, 16
The above description is not that of a spendthrift inheritor of wealth but that of an arduous and sagacious heir, who knows what to do with an inheritance for it to outlive him and his generation.
What accounted for this awesome success story of Isaac? One may say the inheritance. Well, as much as one does not completely disagree with that fact, my personal conviction is that Isaac’s awesome wealth was the product of his encounter with that wisdom we are calling divine creativity.
Bible records in Genesis 26:12 that Isaac sowed in a drought stricken land and received a hundredfold yield in the same year. The misconception here is that one could easily be made to believe that after sowing the seed in the hard, dry and moisture-less ground, Isaac went and slept and God just performed some strange miracle out of the blue for the seed to grow.
I would like to open your eyes here to see what really accounted for the hundredfold yield. When God spoke to Isaac not to go down to Egypt but to stay in the land which He the Lord will show him, he didn’t fold his hands to sit down and wait for manner to fall from heaven. Rather, he went to God in prayer to find out what to do to survive in the midst of the famine due to the prolonged drought, and God gave him the creative idea of irrigation farming with God himself being the first irrigation farmer of all times.
“These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the Lord God made the earth and the heavens. And every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every herb of the field before it grew: for the Lord had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and there was not a man to till the ground. But there went up a mist from the earth, and watered the whole face of the ground.”
Genesis 2: 2-4
From the above scripture, we see that before ever there was rain upon the face of the earth, God utilized the underground waters to cultivate his first plantation.
We also see in the verse 10 of the same chapter that God caused a river to run through the Garden of Eden to water the garden. “And a river went out of Eden to water the garden.”
In the absence of rain and surface water, the only alternative for agriculture in times of drought is to exploit avenues by which one can get access to the underground waters. This was exactly the secret key God gave to Isaac and he flourished in the midst of severe drought and famine through the digging of wells and irrigating his fields and farms.
The Philistines, who I believe, as at that time, knew nothing about the technology of irrigation, were amazed when one morning they woke up to see the fields of Isaac green and wet. They therefore started spying on the man to discover the secret of this wonder they were seeing.
When they discovered the secret, instead of humbling themselves and seeking counsel in order to also benefit from this technological advancement, they were rather moved with envy against Isaac and went and stopped all the irrigation wells. For the Bible says “… and the Philistines envied him, for all the wells which his father’s servants had digged in the days of Abraham, the Philistines had stopped them, and filled them with earth.”
Genesis 26: 14b, 15
So did the Philistines to the man Isaac yet he kept increasing because he was armed with a creative idea that gave him the superior urge over his adversaries, irrespective of geographical location or re-location.
I see you take hold of a divinely inspired creative idea that is giving you a superior stand against your contemporaries. I see you also become the envy of your generation because you have access to divine creativity.
Bible says we have received the Spirit that is of God that we may know the things that are freely given to us of God. Besides, we have the mind of Christ. The mind of Christ is superior to any natural mind, educational background notwithstanding. Why then sit down and die as a mediocre in this age of the latter rains of creative ideas for both kingdom and business exploits? Rise up and begin to excel through contact with the inspiration of God for creative ideas.
Jacob was another sagacious man who commanded nerve racking and mind boggling wealth by way of divine creativity. Jacob, by his name ‘supplanter’ with the aid of his mother outwitted both his father and elder brother, took the birthright and the blessing of the father which were meant for the elder brother Esau. He as a result of this divinely ordained necessary evil scheme had to flee from the brother’s wrath to seek asylum in the maternal uncle’s home. Jacob here again thought he could push his way through by his craftiness and outwit his uncle Laban too, as he did in the case of his brother and father. What he, however, did not know or realized early enough was the fact that the genes of subtlety and craftiness he was carrying had their source and headquarters at his uncle’s house and family. And that he, being a third generation offspring, probably carried a milder trait of those genes that Laban, his uncle, who perhaps was a second or even a first generation offspring carried.
Jacob realized nearly too late that when two strong beasts clash there is always a stronger one, and that at this time around he was to be at the losing end of the titanic gamble of wits and tact. He was first outwitted in the choice of a wife and had to serve fourteen years instead of seven to marry the woman after his heart. Secondly, he was outwitted several times in the area of his appointed wages for all his labour in his uncle’s house until he became so frustrated. When the frustration became too much for him, he requested that the uncle release him from the indirect servitude so that he could go somewhere else and create a future for himself and his family. This, the uncle objected to with another seemingly golden promise which was to become another smokescreen of a respite. The breach of this final deal was the last straw that broke the camel’s back and set Jacob thinking of a secret key by which to beat the uncle to his own game of wits and deceit. It was during this time of despondency and desperation that Jacob contacted that incredible divinely inspired creative idea by which he spoiled the uncle Laban and plundered his wealth.
Laban removed all the speckled, spotted, brown and striped animals that were to be the hire of his nephew from among the rest of the animals and sent them away about three days journey. This diabolical act was to totally deny Jacob the possibility of ever getting anything from all his years of labour for Laban.
Jacob however, by divine inspiration of the wisdom of God contacted a creative idea through a dream whiles asleep and that is what vindicated him finally to the detriment of his uncle. Bible says:
“And Jacob took him rods of green poplar and of the hazel and chesnut tree and pilled white strakes in them, and made the white appear which was in the rods:
And he set the rods which he had pilled before the flocks in the gutter in the watering troughs when the flocks came to drink, that they should conceive when they came to drink, and the flocks conceived before the rods, and brought forth cattle ringstraked, speckled and spotted…
And it came to pass, whensoever the stronger cattle did conceive, that Jacob laid the rods before the eyes of the Cattle in the gutters that they might conceive among the rods. But when the cattle were feeble, he put them not in: So the feebler were Laban’s and the stronger Jacob’s and the man increased exceedingly, and had much cattle, and maidservants and menservants, and camels and asses.”
Genesis 30: 37-43
Bible says, and the man (Jacob)increased exceedingly, and had much cattle, and maidservants and menservants, and camels and asses. We never read this about him until he encountered that strange wisdom for creativity. Neighbour, you don’t need to change your job for your change to come, all you need is a bite of the wisdom for creativity.
When the wicked suppress the innocent concerning their legitimate wages, the Lord blows away the wealth of the wicked into the hands of the innocent and the righteous to compensate them for the injustice they might have suffered at the hand of the wicked. Look at how Jacob puts it;
“And your father hath deceived me and changed my wages ten times; but God suffered him not to hurt me. Thus God hath taken away the cattle of your father, and given them to me.”
Genesis 31:7, 9
No wonder the Bible says the wealth of the wicked is laid in store for the just. This end time massive transfer of the wealth of the wicked to the just is going to come because of the flood of the wisdom of God for creativity unto the people of God. You will not be left out this time around.
Wake up from your slumber and get ready for this explosive release of wisdom for creativity. Your life will never remain the same again having read this opening chapter in Jesus name.
Come with me to the second chapter, as we get ready to explore the Wisdom for Dominion.
