World War 2020?

A few months ago, I became obsessed with Solar Return charts. I looked at the Solar Return chart for every year of my life, including those years when I didn’t even believe astrology, and found myself amazed by the accuracy of it. For example, I noticed that my happiest years were the the ones where the Ascendant was in either Libra (Sun in the 1st house) or Sagittarius (Sun in the 10th house) - which makes sense as both signs are ruled by benefics (Venus and Jupiter respectively). Naturally, I wanted to get a glimpse of the years to come: Will I get married? When will I find my soulmate? Will I get a good job and make lots of money? Will I ever have kids? 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019 – all those years looked good. But then I came upon 2020...uh-oh.

A quick glimpse at my 2020 Solar Return and a number of red flags stood out to me. A while back, I read that the Solar Return Ascendant in your natal fourth house indicates your year of death. Well, guess what? The Solar Return is in Virgo: my natal 4th house! "Stop it," you may say. "The article you just linked us to even says it's very hard to predict one's death. It could just mean a change of residence!" However, it's only one indicator among many. The 12th house cusp conjunct my natal IC is another indicator, and that's only one example.

That’s still not the end of the world, you might think. There’s always re-location! I could easily move the Ascendant to my 3rd house or 5th house and who knows? That’s 3 years away. I may even be living in a different continent by then, for all I know. However, like I said, it’s only one death indicator among many. My research tells me that nodal aspects can also indicate death and the North Node is conjunct the Midheaven (public image) by 4 degrees and it conjuncts my natal Ascendant (self, life force) by only ONE degree: will this put my death in the public eye? Additionally, Mars, the warrior planet, great bringer of accidents, rules the 8th house (house of death for those of you who don’t know). It’s in the 8th house and in its dignity, Aries. It’s in retrograde, making a ton of squares: opposite my Sun, square Saturn, square Pluto and it’s making an exact square to Jupiter. Jupiter expands whatever it touches so with Jupiter square Mars, will it expand the potential for accidents? It’s also trine the Moon which is conjunct the IC: the end of things. That alone screams danger. And there are probably more indicators that I’ve overlooked.

I might be able to lessen the chart's negative impact by re-locating but I can't fix everything. My transits that year are also pretty bad and will stay the same, no matter where I go. That Jupiter-Pluto-Saturn stellium? It’s in my natal 8th house, again, house of death; conjunct my natal Uranus-Neptune conjunction (Pluto’s conjunction to Uranus is exact in the SR chart) and square my Sun-Mercury conjunction (in the SR chart, Saturn makes the closest aspect, as it’s less than two full degrees away). Pluto and Saturn are both associated with the grim reaper. With both planets square my Sun and chart ruler, things don't look too pretty. Uranus is in my Solar Return 8th house and it enters my natal 12th house that year, where it will eventually be conjunct both my Moon and South Node. The 12th house is associated with isolation, self-undoing, imprisonment, hidden enemies, curses, and mental illness among many other wonderful, exciting things!

I'm not the only one.

The scary thing is, a lot of my friends are worried about what their solar return charts have to say for that year.

2020 is going to be packed with significant astrological events.

The year starts out with the Pluto-Saturn conjunction on January 12th. Pluto and Saturn meet roughly about every 33 to 38 years. The most interesting thing is the Sun will also be making an exact conjunction to those two planets, at 22 degrees Capricorn.

All three of these planets represent power in their own way. The Sun represents our will or our ego and rules the sign of Leo the Lion, King of the Jungle. Being at the center, The Sun could just as well be described as the King of our Solar System. Saturn represents government and law: it rules over the signs of Capricorn and Aquarius and is exalted by Libra. Pluto, ruler of Scorpio, is about power for it's own sake but also transformation. The sign of Capricorn itself is associated with government and social status.

So, there will likely be an important - and destructive - event regarding the corruption of government and other institutions. This conjunction will take place shortly before the presidential inauguration, so there may be an event related to that. Perhaps, there will be a dramatic shift in global powers. Many have predicted a shift to the East. With Mars squaring Pluto and Saturn later that year, I fear there could be a World War and as much as I don't want this to be the case, the news seem to confirm this. Some more positive astrologers are saying this conjunction will put an end to political corruption. I'm not denying that. However, if we are to take history into account, we'll see that this is unlikely to happen without some degree of destruction or "negativity" being involved.

For example, when these two planets opposed each other on September 11th, 2001, the planes crashed into New York City's World Trade Center and the “War on Terror” had begun. Pluto was at 12 degrees Sagittarius, a sign associated with religion. Interestingly enough, it was also conjunct the Ascendant of the United States. This makes sense. Sagittarius, is ruled by the planet Jupiter, which represents expansion: the United States likes to stick it's foot in places where it doesn't belong. True to the shadow side of Sagittarius, they self-righteously believe themselves to be the saviors of the world, but they end up causing more harm than good. So, you have to remember, the people who we refer to as terrorists, believed that they were on a holy mission to destroy the corruption and hypocrisy of the United States, but that doesn't take away from the fact that people died.

As a nation ruled by optimistic Sagittarius, we don't believe that anything bad can happen to us. War, poverty - those things take place "over there" on the other side of theglobe and aren't our concern. But the reality is, history works in cycles and America, like every other empire, will eventually receive it's karma.

The Great Conjunction

Perhaps more importantly, however, the great conjunction - the conjunction between Jupiter and Saturn, occuring every 18-20 years - also takes place that year. These conjunctions follow a pattern known as "trigons," a series of conjunctions taking place within the same element (earth, air, fire & water). For the past 200 years or so (with the exception of an Aries conjunction in 1821 and a series of 3 Libra conjunctions in the early 1980's) the great conjunctions have all been in earth signs (Virgo, Capricorn & Taurus). However, the great conjunction of 2020 will take place at the very first degree of Aquarius, kicking off a new series of great conjunctions in air signs (Aquarius, Libra & Gemini). This is significant: as they've been saying for decades now, the Age of Aquarius is dawning. Will this be the day it starts, for real?

What’s more What’s interesting is the conjunction takes place at zero degrees Aquarius. Meanwhile, the Sun is also at zero degrees Capricorn. This in itself has a great significance. When a planet is at 0 degrees of any sign, they refer to it as a critical degree. Along with the 29th (or what they call anorectic degree) it represents a crisis point. Because it’s the beginning of the sign and not the end, it can often represent a fresh start or a new beginning. But in order for anything to begin, something has to end. Some astrologers say that a planet at zero degrees also represents the pure essence of the sign.

What's even more interesting: the great conjunction will become exact on December 21st.2020, the day of the winter solstice. On a date like that, it has to be a significant. Remember a few years ago when everyone was all scared that the world would end on December 21st, 2012? Looks like their predictions were a few years too early.

It probably won't be the end of the world exactly but it looks like the end of the world as we know it. Perhaps, a big crisis will happen to usher us into the New Age.

What's even more interesting: the great conjunction of 2020 happens just right after a total solar eclipse on December 14th.

There will also be an annular eclipse on the day of the summer solstice. This one will also happen on a critical degree: 0 degrees Cancer, very close to the Sun in the birth chart of the United States.

Let's take a look at the actual chart for December 21st.

Let's start by taking a look at the aspects Jupiter & Saturn are making to other planets. There will be a positive aspect to the Moon in Aries (the war god) later in the day, but there’s also a 6 degree square to Uranus (Aquarius’s modern ruler), which is retrograde and making an exact conjunction to Lilith at 6 degrees Taurus. Sounds like a transit that’s bound to be explosive…figuratively, I hope, but I fear it could be literal. Uranus=uranium=uranium bombs? Lets' hope not. The Moon will also be squaring the Sun which usually refers to something climatic, a major change. For example, it appeared in my solar return chart (4th house Sun, 7th house Moon) the year I lost my virginity.

There will be another exact aspect that day: Mars (dispositor of the Moon in Aries) exactly square Pluto at 23 degrees Capricorn. Mars, God of War, in its’ home sign making a negative aspect to the God of Death in the sign of the goat (SATAN!)…how sweet. As much as I want to think positively, this looks like it could be a fight to the death. Plutonium bombs. Bombs, everywhere. IWorld War 3: neither the United States nor North Korea nor ISIS nor Russia nor whoever else involved will give up until they win, even if it means total world destruction.

Just a quick, egocentric sidenote, the Great Conjunction will be exactly opposed the Part of Fortune (at 0 degrees Leo) in my 2020 Solar Return chart. Doesn't look like my luck will be very good then, does it? At least, not if I stay in the U.S.

Speaking of nuclear war, I also think it’s seriously worth mentioning that ISIS has vowed to conquer Rome by the year 2020. I think this year will spell out the end of religion as we know it: if not religion, then Christianity and possibly Islam, generally thoguht of as "Piscean Age" religions.

In addition to everything else that's been mentioned, according to the Prophecy of St. Malachy, Pope Francis is said to be our last pope. The prophecy gives a list of the “next” 112 popes, with the last one, “Peter the Roman,” whose reign would supposedly end with judgement day. Click here, if you want more info on this prophecy, as I currently don't have time to go deep into it. If you want a HubPages article, click this one... I haven't read it yet but a quick scan andit looks interesting.

My theory has also received support from fields outside of astrology. Mathematical historian, Peter Turchin, a professor at UCONN has predicted the fall of Western civilization to take place in the year 2020. Professor Turchin is best known for developing the cross-disciplinary subject known as “cliodynamics,” which studies history like any other science, that is, through the use of mathematical models. He started out using mathematics to study events that took place from 1500 B.C.E. to 1500 C.E. and three years ago, began using those models to start predicting the future. To me, this is simply proof that astrology is real, and the cyclical nature of history, shown through mathematics, confirms this.

There are plenty of other prophecies, concerning the East's rise as a world power. For example, to quote Nostradamus: "Twice put up and twice cast down,/ the East will also weaken the West./Its adversary after several battles/chased by sea will fail at time of need."

Nostradamus also predicted that World War 3 would last 27 years and would coincide with a comet.

Others have been prophecizing the coming of an Earth-shattering meteor shower on the Summer Solstice of 2020, the date of the annular eclipse. They theorize that the purpose of Stonehenge & the Great Pyramid was to warn us about this meteor shower.

The truth is, you don't need metaphysics to see that the Western civilization is on the verge of collapse. Just take a look around, open your eyes, turn off your TV, put down your iPhone, wake up from your sleep. American politics are increasingly becoming more and more divided and both sides are becoming more and more extreme, more and more militant. Social justice warriors, the alt-right. If world war 3 doesn't happen, it could be that a civil one will. I have a feeling the United States may very well lose it's place as a world superpower and Donald Trump's presidency is only the beginning.

What will happen? Only time will tell. It's about time we develop some 2020 vision.
