Studying the bible is always good. For years, I have been studying the bible and I found it wonderful

Not few people in the world know that there are two broad types of leaders in any establishment and countries of the world the family settings not exempted. Those two broad types are good and bad leaders.

The growth and or downfall of a country, establishment, family, relationship etc. largely depends on the type of leader leading the establishment. If the leader is good, it is undoubtedly certain that the establishment would grow but contrary would be the effect of the leader on the establishment if he or she is a bad leader.

The bible being a wonderful book of all ages, times and seasons has in it different leaders to corroborate and show all who believes in the bible the effects of leaders on countries and establishments.

Here in this article I will want us to see few of the reasons why good leaders make positive impacts in the society, making the society lively and bringing about growth and establishment wherever they are leading during their times.

When the wicked rise, men hide themselves: but when they perish, the righteous increase (Pro 28:28)

Why Good Leaders Make Positive Impacts and Make People Happy

There are many reasons that could be found which make good leaders have positive impacts on their followers and by extension on the populace at large.

1. Good Judgment

One of the definitions of judgment from Longman Pocket Dictionary is what you decide after thinking about something carefully. Since the inception of the world have we found this to be present, for it is by judgment, good judgment that God created the heavens and the earth, for the world to keep growing and being a better place for all to live in, there must be execution of correct and good judgment. Each of us at a time or another would have to decide about something after a careful thought on that thing. What we decide on would determine what would happen to us and or those who have brought their cases to us.

In the Holy Bible, we see a good judgment executed by the wisest person who lived on earth among two close friends who were harlots those days, his decision and judgment travels wide and far and by that could endear him to the hearts of the people he governs and those who eventually come in close contact with him while on earth.

Then came there two women, that were harlots, unto the king, and stood before him.

And the one woman said, O my lord, I and this woman dwell in one house; and I was delivered of a child with her in the house.

And it came to pass the third day after that I was delivered, that this woman was delivered also: and we were together; there was no stranger with us in the house, save we two in the house.

And this woman's child died in the night; because she overlaid it.

And she arose at midnight, and took my son from beside me, while thine handmaid slept, and laid it in her bosom, and laid her dead child in my bosom.

And when I rose in the morning to give my child suck, behold, it was dead: but when I had considered it in the morning, behold, it was not my son, which I did bear.

And the other woman said, Nay; but the living is my son, and the dead is thy son. And this said, No; but the dead is thy son, and the living is my son. Thus they spake before the king.

Then said the king, The one saith, This is my son that liveth, and thy son is the dead: and the other saith, Nay; but thy son is the dead, and my son is the living.

And the king said, Bring me a sword. And they brought a sword before the king.

And the king said, Divide the living child in two, and give half to the one, and half to the other.

Then spake the woman whose the living child was unto the king, for her bowels yearned upon her son, and she said, O my lord, give her the living child, and in no wise slay it. But the other said, let it be neither mine nor thine, but divide it.

Then the king answered and said, give her the living child, and in no wise slay it: she is the mother thereof.

And all Israel heard of the judgment which the king had judged; and they feared the king: for they saw that the wisdom of God was in him, to do judgment. (1 Ki 3:16-28)

This judgment was heralded abroad and brought several people to the nation of Israel during his days to see and learn from the King and we shall know that when people are on tourism there would be exchange of ideas as well as there would be increase in the business activities within the country, this is not to mention that there would be possibilities of bilateral business being formed with the countries, signed by their leaders during those period. Doing this would bring smile on the faces of the people living in that country.

2. Good Administration

Administration is defined as looking after or managing a business. A good leader pays attention to the minutest details of the companies or establishments he is overseeing. A leader who does not pay attention to the minutest details of what he or she is overseeing cannot be called a good administrator. A good leader in doing this is the one who knows what to do and when to do that thing.

This is one of the great characteristics that King David exhibited when he was a king of Israel which makes his succeed. He could have killed some people who abused him and formed alliance with his enemies especially Absalom his son when he was chased off the throne but he did not do that because he knows the negative impact that would have on the populace, thence, he has commanded his son, King Solomon to do that after he is gone on the way of all the earth. (1 King 2)

Father Abraham also demonstrated this and thence his blessings keep increasing until he became very great in the land he has migrated to without being an obstacles to other people within the land. When there was a strife between Lot and Abraham’s herdsmen, Father Abraham knows that he needs to separate his herdsmen from his nephew’s for progress to be among them. (Gen 13)

The characteristics of a good administration which he demonstrated makes him have soldiers he trained himself, who are always ready to go to battle, these soldiers would eventually rose to defend and deliver five nations that have captured his nephew and his families in the country where he lives. (Gen. 14)

3. Surrounds Self with Good Counselors

A good leader is the one who surrounds himself with good counselors, because he knows that he needs good counsel to lead the people aright.

Without counsel purposes are disappointed: but in the multitude of counsellors they are established.(Pro 15:22)

For by wise counsel thou shalt make thy war: and in multitude of counsellors there is safety. (Pro 24:6)

The great apostle says, Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners. (1Co 15:33)

Such a leader knows that having good intention would be negated if he surrounds himself with people who are corrupt and who will give him bad counsels, as a proverb that says, “if a sheep that becomes a companion of the dog would eat what it ought not to eat”.

We shall see some other characters of a good leader in the next article.
