Ahle Bait of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) - Father, Mother & Grandfather of Holy Prophet (PBUH)
In Islam the term Ahle bait (Household) of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) has great significance because Quran and Hadith promise great reward and persuade Muslims to respect all the ahle bait of Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
Keeping in view the verses of Quran, ahadiths and definitions of household mentioned above the ahle bait/bayt (household) of holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) are as below:
Grandfather of Holy Prophet (PBUH)
Hazrat Abdul Mutalib is the member of ahle bait because he looked after the holly Prophet (PBUH till the age of 9 when Hazrat Abdul Mutalib died.
Name of the grandfather of Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) was Abdul Mutalib. He was the son of Hashim. He looked after the Holy Prophet after the death of his parents. He was a pious man and his belief in Allah was as solid as a rock. The strength of his belief could be gauged from the incidence of Attacks of Elephants under the leadership of Ibraha. Ibraha attacked Makkah with the intention to destroy Khana Kaaba. Abdul Mutalib was the chief of dwellers of Makkah at that time. When the aggressors under the leadership of Ibraha reached near Makkah the people of Makkah got worried. On this the Abdul Mutalib said: “Don’t worry. Khana Kaaba is the House of Allah and Allah will defend/protect it on His Own.” On this the small birds known as Ababeel carrying little pebbles in their beaks attacked that army of elephants and all the members of that army were killed by the pebbles in the beaks of small birds known as “Ababeel”. This incidence is quoted in Quran in surah Al-Feel (Elephants) as under:
1. 'O beloved! Have you not seen how your Lord dealt with the men of the Elephant?
2. Did He not cause their device to be ruined.
3. And He sent against them flocks of birds.
4. Striking them against stones of baked clay.
5. And thus made them like broken straw eaten up.
Hazrat Abdul Mutalib (A.S.) died when the Holy Prophet (PBUH) was just eight years of age.
Father of Holy Prophet (PBUH)
The name of father of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is Abdullah, which literally means “Obedient servant of Allah”. He was the youngest beloved son of Hazrat Abdul Mutalib. For the life of Hazrat Abdullah his father Hazrat Abdul Mutalib had to sacrifice hundred camels according to the traditions of the Arabs. Hazrat Abdullah died in very early age after few months of the marriage with Hazrat Amna, the mother of holy Prophet (PBUH).
Hazrat Amina, the mother of Holy Prophet (PBUH)
A house cannot be considered a home without mother. So Hazrat Amina (S.A.) the mother of Holy Prophet (PBUH) in my considered opinion is the part and parcel of ahle bait/BAYT (Household) of Holy Prophet (PBUH). Hazrat Amina (S.A.) was very pious lady and lucky one that she was given the honor to be mother of Holy Prophet (PBUH) the Chief of the all the Prophets and creature of Allah. Belief of Hazrat Amina in Allah was very firm and she was a true believer. She looked after the Holy Prophet (PBUH). The holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was just six years of age when Hazrat Amina (a.s.) breathed her last while she was on her way from Madina to Makkah.

He is also beloved uncle of Holy Prophet (PBUH). He embraced Islam very early before Hijrah to Madina. He was martyred in the Ghazwae Ohad. He is the Chief of the martyred of Ghazwae Ohad. It was Hinda who deceitfully martyred Hazrat Hamza but the Holy Prophet (PBUH) at the time of victory of Makkah forgave her for this brutality.

Ahle Bait - Wives of Holy Prophet (PBUH)
Wives of Holy Prophet
The term ahle bait of Holy Prophet (PBUH) is used for the wives of the holy Prophet in Quran. The names of the wives of holy Prophet (PBUH) are; Hazrat Khadija, Hazrat Aysha, Hazrat Soda, Hazrat Hafsa, Hazrat Ume Salma, Hazrat Zainab binte Khazima, Hazrat Javeria, Hazrat Safia, Hazrat Ume Habiba, Hazrat Memuna, Hazrat Zainab binte Hajash. All the children of holy Prophet (PBUH) are from Hazrat Khadija (R.A.) except one son namely Hazrat Ibrahim who was from Hazrat Maria.
It is worth mentioning all the wives of holy Prophet (PBUH) were widows or divorced except one namely: Ummul Momineen Hazrat Aysha. The holy Prophet (PBUH) lived the golden era of his youth with Hazrat Khadija (R.A.) who was a widow. Hazrat Khadija was 40 years of age and Holy Prophet (PBUH) was just 25 years at the time of marriage. During her life the holy Prophet(PBUH) did not marry any other women. It is worth mentioning that the infidels of Makkah offered many a times that they are ready to marry any girl with him if he stopped the preaching of Islam but our Prophet (PBUH) vehemently rejected this offer. The most of the marriages were backed by the wisdom of Holy Prophet (PBUH) who many a times prevented bloodshed just by marriage. The Holy Prophet (PBUH) married few ladies after the Ghazwae Ohad in which many a Muslims martyred. This was to give them honor of being the Ummul Momineen. It is worth mentioning that life of holy Prophet (PBUH) him was very simple. So it is mentioned in Quran that the Holy Prophet (PBUH) that if some of the wives intend to opt worldly luxuries they have to be separated from holy Prophet (PBUH) and they will be given the worldly wealth. But none of the wife opted the option and preferred to live with the holy Prophet (PBUH).

The meaning of Fatima is safe from fire. Hazrat Fatima was married to Ali (Radhiyallaho anho) in 2 A.H. The Prophet Mohammad (Sallallaho Alaihe Wasallam) said to Hadhrat Ali (Radhiyallaho anho): "Fatimah is a part of my body. Whoever grieves her, grieves me."

The Holy Prophet (Peace be upon him) one morning came out of his room. He was wearing a shawl. The shawl had camel saddles woven on to it with black wool. Then Fatimah the daughter of Holy Prophet and wife of Hazrat Ali, the mother of Hasnain (سلام اللہ علیھا) came and the Holy Prophet (SAW) took her under the cloak. Next Ali(كرم الله وجهه) came. The Holy Prophet (PBUH) also included him beneath the shawl. Then the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW) recited the verse, ‘Allah only desires to keep away (all kinds of) impurity from you, O ‘people of the house!’ (the Prophet’s family) and to totally purify you,’ (al-Ahzab 33:33)
The family of Hazrat Ali also has the significance in the history of Islam as the clan/progeny of holy Prophet (PBUH) continued from this greatly blessed family of Hazrat Ali (R.A.)
