Where is Lazarus?

No One Gets Off this Planet Alive?

Matthew 6:8
¶ “Therefore do not be like them. For your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him.

There I was sleeping minding my own business, when I'm awakened and can't get back to sleep, with this the following thoughts. God heals us peeps all the time, then sooner or later we die. Oh yes I know there are some exceptions, Enoch, Elijah and maybe some we don't know from scripture. But for the rest of us we step into the possibility of the second death, while those other exceptions haven't seen their first death. Then there are the cases of those that have been miraculously raised from the dead like Lazarus, that have more than one "first death". "It is appointed unto man to die once, and after that the judgement".

But, I digress from I believe the LORD was putting in my knower to wake me up... HEALING.

I have been off and (mostly) on again sick. This, to the point where I have a real relationship with the old joke, 'I am sick and tired of being sick and tired". No... my, whatever it is (Doc's don't know) isn't severe, chronic pain, nighttime slightly elevated temperature, yada yada yada... for many, many months. I have really close friends that REALLY suffer and have for years with much worse symptoms and conditions. These friends are really tough, and I am humble to call them friends and brothers in the LORD. But I'm still digressing.

Recently, I was healed through another good friend who was compelled by Jesus to pray for me. And I was healed and I knew I was healed, for however long... I was healed! Now, how long may we expect a healing that we did not expect at all, to remain? I mean really? For months, perhaps years, we have whatever condition and the LORD intervenes on our behalf through the praying of a brother or sister. How long should we "expect" to enjoy the, "healed" liberty we've been given?

The one that "stands in the gap" for us and petitions for us to be delivered uses "whomever" believer to voice that petition. Only Abba Father, Yeshua and the Holy Spirit know what our healings will mean in the long or short term. Whether the benefit is long lived or, not received at all, it is all according to His purposes. For instance, according to the Bible we don't know what happened to Lazarus after Jesus was crucified, but we do know his being raised from the dead was full of meaning.

We don't know for instance, if the Sanhedrin followed up with their intentions to kill him as well as Jesus. What we can be very certain of, is that he experienced the first death "again" at some point.

Isaiah 53:5
But He was wounded for our transgressions,

He was bruised for our iniquities;
The chastisement for our peace was upon Him,
And by His stripes we are healed.

1 Peter 2:24
who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose stripes you were healed.

Let us compare these verses. In Isaiah's account of the healing stripes of the future Messiah places the healing in the present tense. And in Peter's account there seem to be two distinct differences. 1) Past tense "were healed" is used. And... 2) On the surface, the verse suggests that those that "were healed" are those that have "...died to sins might live for righteousness-by whose stripes you were healed." But the thought that only believers are healed, is not the way that verse it should be understood.

This is verified on nearly every level.

Peter's verse showcases the LORD's intentions for His goodness being expressed throughout all creation. His goodness is intended to bring us to His loving relationship and Presence. This goodness can be found everywhere in the universe. From the balance of forces found in the galaxies, to the simple healing of a cut finger.

In the Bible, He declares that He knit a certain prophet together in his mother's womb. And in another verse He states that he knew him before he was born. Now this Old Covenant saint, was cared for and "healed" from "cut fingers" or whatever, merely on the promises of a Messiah to come. But, would any healing be given according to those same stripes and sufferings, death and resurrection? Does He not send rain to the just and unjust alike?

While it remains true that the "healings" that are obviously miraculous, are more often than not are intended to spark the unbeliever to believe. These healings can be compared to the sowing of seeds, with the examples of ground, "wayside, stony, thorny and good. The varied results are described in the parable. And, in those differences, it speaks of the receiver's willingness to believe.

Healing however, goes on worldwide. Some are "normal" healings, some are "miraculous" and in the latter cases we have as an example, the comparison of Moses against Jannes and Jambres, the magicians in Pharaoh's court. They could duplicate some of the miracles performed through Aaron and Moses. So what is God's distinctions through the comparisons? And not just Moses, Jannes and Jambres, but all the comparative "miracles" worldwide? I believe it is the distinctions that develop and showcase "good ground" from other or, "common ground". This even is done in regions of the world where Judaism and Christianity are never heard. In these rare unevangelized areas, where common, and "natural healings" happen. In the next couple paragraphs I'll give my take on Jannes and Jambres "faith type" works of healings... definitely the "other ground" kind.

Matthew 7:
22 “Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’'
23 “And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’'

Yeshua didn't say these wonders didn't happen, that was not his point in saying "I never knew you". His point was that their heartfelt reasons were self promotion, evil, and self justifying.

Yes, Christian "faith healers" can fall into the Jannes and Jambres "magicians" category of "healings" when they perform the "super natural" for self promotion. Christian faith healers danger themselves when the emphasis is on their faith or the faith of the one to be healed or both. While it is true that faith or, "trust in God" is necessary, "faith" should not be the focus for the reason why it happens. Any thing else does sanctify His Name. True healings and other acts of faith must be done humbly and only to glorify God and the authority of HaShem - His Name or, more precisely from the Hebrew, "The Name".

Now to "natural and common healings".

This will also include modern "medical miracles" through Pharma remedies, surgeries and other mechanical adjustments to "symptoms". These will be batched in with the cut finger and a band aid remedy types along with getting a cold and simply "getting over it". From medical miracles to cut fingers the "remedy" or, remedial steps taken are never what "Heals" us, they simply moderate the symptoms, these remedies deal with patching our organically physical mechanics to ease our discomfort while the LORD Heals us..!

"By His Stripes we are Healed" - Isaiah / "By His Stripes we were Healed" - Peter

Here are my final points. 1) All worldwide, cultural wide... actual "HEALING" come from His suffering and Him taking the "fallen" iniquities of the world upon Himself, so that His Healing would be enjoyed by all nature. After all He sends the rains for the just and unjust alike. 2) No matter the many healings we enjoy throughout our lives the only two recorded non deaths of history (His story) are Enoch and Elijah. Everyone else including those raised from the dead, like Lazarus have died. 3) Only God knows our hearts and He loves us all. He knows what motives we have and where He need to be corrected when we humbly allow Him to. And many times He is even willing to intervene in the paths of the stiff necked with chastisements, those He loves He corrects. Others that will not (ever) receive His corrections... He never knew..!
