What the Bible Says About Healing

All people need healing in some parts of their bodies and minds from time to time. God doesn't want anyone to suffer in silence. He has ordained medical professionals to help people get healed. He has also provided ways in His word for people to participate in their own healing.

Read through God's commands and advice given below to help you get healed.

1. Pray to God

Prayer changes things, and you can pray to God about anything. Even people's sicknesses and diseases are changed when people pray about them. There is nothing too big for God to handle. Therefore, there is no limitation on what to pray for. Make it a habit of praying to God for your health. Even if you are not sick and have no diseases, thank God for your good health.

2. Command in Jesus' Name That Sickness Leave

There are scriptures and examples throughout the Bible about healing. When people read the Book of Acts, they will see what Peter and John did when the lame man at the Gate Beautiful asked them for money. They commanded in Jesus' name for the man's infirmity to be gone, according to Acts 3:1-3 and 3:6.

Not many people command in Jesus' name for their infirmities to leave them. They should talk TO their sickness and command it to leave instead of merely talking ABOUT it to others. When people begin to command sickness to leave, they will see some immediate results.

3. Believe That You Are Healed

This principle is hard to grasp, but have faith to believe for your healing. Some people lack faith in that area. That's because they have been sick for so long that they have accepted it and think they will never be healed.

An effective way to get healed is to believe that you ARE already healed, according to Isaiah 53:5.

“But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes, we are healed.”

4. Stop Personalizing Your Sickness

It is not a good thing to personalize your sickness as a lot of people do. They say things such as "I am dealing with my allergies" and "I need to get medicine for my headache." When people say things like that, they are making their sicknesses their friends. They are owning what ails them. No wonder sicknesses linger with some people.

If you want to be healed, stop calling sicknesses yours.

5. Stop Comparing Yourself With Others

Every person is different when it comes to sicknesses and getting well. Therefore, it does people no good to compare themselves with others. On that note, never share medication with anyone else that your doctor has prescribed for only you. Your prescription is tailor-made for you. It is dangerous to take someone else's medicine and for them to take yours.

I was once invited but did not go to a pill party where women sat around and discussed their illnesses and compared the medication they took. They even played games about their sicknesses and gave prizes to the woman who was taking the most pills. The women seemed to have been celebrating their sickness instead of speaking to it to leave.

6. Read Well-Known Healing Scriptures

  • “For I am the Lord who heals you.” (Exodus 15:26)
  • "Many are the affliction of the righteous, but the Lord delivers them out of them all." (Psalm 34:19)
  • “He heals the brokenhearted and bandages their wounds.” (Psalm 147:2)
  • “O Lord, if you heal me, I will be truly healed; if you save me, I will be truly saved. My praises are for you alone!” (Jeremiah 17:14)
  • “I will give you back your health and heal your wounds.” (Jeremiah 30:17)

God wants people to be healed and not suffer in aches and pains. Therefore, He is pleased when they take steps toward their own healing.

Remeber to do the following:

  1. Pray to God.
  2. Command in Jesus' name for sickness to leave.
  3. Believe you are healed.
  4. Refuse to personalize your ailments.
  5. Refrain from comparing yourself to other sick people.
  6. Read well-known healing scriptures.

Margaret

I cannot imagine people having a pill party to discuss their sickness & compare meds.

The best way is what you suggested ..prayer.

Praying helps more than anything.

Believing you are healed is a tricky one, bevause people start to have doubts.

I find the less people who know about it. The better one gets because too many people have negative thoughts.

Thanks for sharing.
