PS is practicing yoga since the age of 11. Her yoga retreats in India have helped her gain deep insights into self-awareness.
In the year 1893, Swami Vivekananda, a Hindu monk, visited the United States to make the West aware of the importance of yoga. Since then, yoga has gained massive popularity and deeply influenced human thinking.
Initially, yoga wasn’t considered to be of a huge impact and more often, linked with mysticism and witchcraft. This reaction was natural since human beings are educated to believe matter to be the most crucial element in the evolution of nature.
Highly driven by the materialistic world, we failed to understand the power of yoga. But as we went deep into the practice of yoga and mysteries of matter, we understood matter isn’t the final point in the birth of nature. As we realize this fact, it’s right to say this is applicable to every shape of matter.
The perception you form, of the outer world through your senses, is a matter itself. Your emotions, thoughts, and feelings are nothing but the products of matter. Due to this reason, these perceptions are temporary and conditional. This concludes the existence of different forms of experience. It means you have the potential of transforming the present limitations of your mind.
Undoubtedly mind is made of matter too. So, it can be transformed as well as made to evolve. Many yoga practitioners have successfully realized this transformation and adapted to the evolution. This is an inner experience.
Inner experience is an outcome of the realization of oneself. Dream, itself, is a wonderful experience. Your dreams can transform you into a completely different person, which can be either practical or far cry from reality. Altogether this is just an expression of yourself, even your thoughts are the expression of yourself. A song, music, painting, and everything else that you create or admire are just an expression of yourself. In short, the external world presents to you as per your inner experience. And you certainly can modify this experience to any extent.
When everything seems frightful, it’s your experience and if everything seems cheerful, then again it’s your experience of self. Yoga has improved millions of people’s concepts about themselves.
Yoga helps you realize it’s not just your mind but your whole body. That’s why you don’t feel good only with your mind but your whole body. But that’s not all, you are also made of your emotions and desire. This makes you beyond your mind or psyche.
Yoga is organized in such a way that it covers the development of your personality in every possible manner. For this, yoga is divided into so many branches - hatha yoga, raja yoga, karma yoga, and so on. These branches are made to improve the health of the mind, heart, and your whole body. This is the basic level of development. At a higher level, there’s a deeper part of your personality that must be developed with another type of emotions and mindset. This demands a special process that you have known as kundalini yoga.
Kundalini Yoga is Another Name for Kundalini Tantra
Kundalini yoga is an important part of the tantric tradition. You are already well aware of yoga, but to understand this advanced variation, you must know a bit about tantra too.
According to tantra, your level of mental experience can be widened. Through your senses, you can cherish certain experiences within the boundary of time, space, and object as well as beyond these boundaries. The latter form of experience happens when your mind learns to reach beyond the set boundaries. When this happens, you yourself releases tremendous energy. That’s what you know as kundalini energy. Some even name it as cosmic energy.
For centuries, people are talking about the eternal experience of moksha, nirvana, liberation, self-realization and so on without even experiencing it themselves. Yogis call this samadhi. Some people believe it to be the end of one’s life, but in reality, it means the end of one’s form of experience and the beginning of another.
Since the beginning of life, yogis and tantric have discovered the dynamic potential force that thrives within the physical body. This force is beyond mystic and psychology. This is called kundalini.
Kundalini is said to be the greatest discoveries of yogis and tantric. While scientists are researching the potential of this energy, the result won’t be anything new since these discoveries are already made many centuries ago by ancient yogis.
The base of kundalini is a small gland located at the lowest level of the spinal cord. With the evolution of mankind, this gland has come to a level where a man can explode this. Many people have awakened this extraordinary force. They are called yogis, rishis, prophets and various other names as per the tradition and culture.
In the Indian subcontinent, the entire culture was organized to facilitate the burst of this kundalini energy. Unfortunately, the materialistic world is very powerful and has managed to lure many aesthetic minds.
Why it Matters?
The kundalini awakening includes yoga practices as well as the reorganization of the social structure. You’ll understand how the purpose of your existence must be revisited. Your whole life from your birth to the time of your death must be reoriented. As you go through this process, you’ll learn even the interaction between genders must be redefined. All these events lead you to an ultimate awakening. This is important so that your mind expands and reaches to a higher realm of experience.
Today, people are satisfied when they see their desires fulfilling and they have all sorts of luxury and comfort. But there’ll come a time when they wholeheartedly want to get rid of these comforts. These artificial comforts can weaken your will and arrest you under endless hypnosis. Your freedom becomes impossible and you are stick in this situation unless you become self-aware of what more the world can give you.
In comparison to the past centuries, now more and more people across the globe are aspiring for a higher realm of experience. This higher realm is knowledge. Your kundalini awakens with yoga and tantra and an effective transformation occurs in the natural and spiritual realms. Not only your physical body changes but also your mental state.
It is difficult for you to grasp this information if your whole concept is based purely on the matter. But, hopefully, everyone will understand this soon and the matter will become trivial. You’ll learn about the tremendous amount of energy that exists beyond the matter and experience it as well.
You should not be hasty in realizing these experiences. Proceed slowly and enjoy the journey as it takes you to a higher level. You’ll gradually prepare your mind and body for the awakening of kundalini. But you also need to know the possible risks and obstacles.
Note: Don’t try to stimulate your mind directly, because your mind is just an extension of your body. Begin with your body, prana, nadis, and chakras. You’ll notice a difference in your evolution. Unfortunately, many people decide to use drugs and other chemicals to feel immediate experience. These are dedicated people but not practical. For the complete evolution, it’s important to consider each of your senses, body parts, internal organs, and diet.
History has it, the discovery of great energy such as nuclear energy originated from a small piece of crude matter. This experience of energy creation initiated from your body, your nervous system. That’s how the sensibility and logic go. You need to understand the true potential of your body, move through different exhaustive methods of awakening to discover your different personalities and strengths. You’ll come across yogic and tantric instructions to experience the great awakening and blend it to your conscious and creative way of life.
According to yogis and tantric, a person with awakened kundalini has a very strong intuitive and creative potential. They say kundalini is not a hypothesis. It is, indeed, a biological substance that exists within the boundary of your body. On its arousal, you feel electrical waves generating throughout your whole body. In fact, these waves can also be detected using scientific instruments. Thus, you should work out to awaken this tremendous power.

Hi Doris, thank you for sharing your experience. This is shocking, though, how someone can ask for huge cash. These people are not real gurus. You gave sound advice. And as per my experience, it is important to meditate regularly and instead of thinking about the emotions, let them flow naturally.
Supervision is certainly required. The right gurus show up at the right time. When your energy reaches its peak, you'll know where to look.

The awakening of Kundalini can be a dangerous and frightening experience if one is not properly prepared for it. When I was in metaphysical school, our instructor gave us a couple of lessons on awakening Kundalini and that was all. I had two very frightening experiences before I shut it down. I awakened in the middle of the night with the K. rising, but there was an entity trying to take me over. I fought it off. Then it happened again a few nights later. Our instructor had not trained us to properly handle it, and I didn't know anyone who could help. I had one properly supervised experience later, but the guy charged so much that I couldn't afford to continue with him. So my advice is "don't try this at home." Wait until you can be properly supervised.

Hi Alex, I am glad you liked it. The more people accept this, the lesser will be the sufferings.

Thank you for that information which shed more light on Eastern practices which empower people to be the ideal of themselves. Chopra calls this event the point where "you have captured the world." Sat chit ananda fellow hubber
