My God, between my own plan and Yours, make me worthy of choosing Yours, until I manage to make these two be one.

A Channel

Someone had said that he could fill a whole library with only one book which has the answers to everything we care and ask about. An all-embracing library that is having only one book! Which book is it? The Bible of course!

The Bible is a channel that connects us to the Wisdom of God and is continuously open to each one of us. But, as it happens with any channel, you need to tune into it so that it can offer you all its potential. The magical thing is that it is an incredibly multi-levelled channel, the more you improve your tuning, the more Wisdom and blessings you get into your life.

The Bible, on a first level, contains several teaching stories, with simple rules, so that even a man who has not worked on his spiritual background can use them to improve himself. The real spiritual wealth, however, emerges when you advance to the next levels and begin to decipher the symbols.

Life Diagrams

We have to clarify that it is not a historical book; it was not the purpose for which it was written by many different enlightened people who have acquired this enlightenment through their spiritual contact and constant communication with God. Because, apparently, not all the stories that it describes are real. Many are, but not all. But they are all great allegories and life diagrams. They are multi-level parables filled with blessings and instructions for a happy life and resemble a diamond mine, the deeper you dig, the bigger and more diamonds you find!

A characteristic example is the story of Isaac's sacrifice (Genesis 22). In this story, God asks Abraham to sacrifice what is the most precious in his life. His only son, who actually was born by a miracle! Surely, this is not a real incident; it's an allegory. God will never ask us to sacrifice anything, even the simplest thing. We chose, through the gradual understanding which the spiritual struggle offers, to abandon the "weights" which block our ascension to the apex of our true happiness. It is, therefore, a parable that describes what is happening internally to each one of us who is trying to walk the spiritual path.

Abraham is every one of us who has obtained a communication with His Inner Spiritual Self, our Divine Part. He is every human being who tries to live a life of virtue and to restore a constant and conscious contact with the Good. But each one of us, because of the way we live, has created many "children" which can slow down or even stop our course towards our Truth. Selfishness, the image we have about ourselves, the passion for glory or the material things, our need to fit in the masses in order to be likeable, are some of them. They are our "children" because we create them and are our images in this world. We bond with them with the convincing illusion that without them we cannot continue to exist. So, one of these is delaying our spiritual progress at some given moment.

A God of Miracles

God, on the other hand, is a symbol of the Inner Self, in this parable. He knows that if we want to walk this hard road, we must be ready to give up everything can get us out of it. No matter how proud we are about something we have accomplished, how much we love it and think we deserve it because it is our "child", this present moment it may be an obstacle to our progress. This is what Isaac symbolises. God, as an Inner Self, knows what we have to do. We have to sacrifice our idea for "Isaac"; that is why God will test us. He will ask us to prove our faith in the Truth that He knows and desires the best for us. He will ask us to verify to ourselves that we are ready to deny anything that we have created in this world, however important we think that is so that we can move higher in our spiritual path and establish a new and superior Self.

So when we leave ourselves to the will of God, because we realize that He really wants the best for us and that He will never let us sacrifice whatever is significant for our progress and happiness, then the miracle becomes. God sends his angel to Abraham and tells him that he does not have to sacrifice his son, but instead awards him with an extraordinary blessing. The angel tells Abraham:

“I swear by myself, declares the Lord, that because you have done this and have not withheld your son, your only son, I will surely bless you and make your descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and as the sand on the seashore. Your descendants will take possession of the cities of their enemies, and through your offspring all nations on earth will be blessed, because you have obeyed me.” -Genesis 22:16-18

Here, the "innumerable descendants" symbolise the results of prayer and the development of spiritual understanding. That is, our Inner Self tells us that by demonstrating our faith in God and defeating the fear of losing the lower self, we have gained in prayers that will be answered and also in spiritual progress because we have expanded our channel of communication with the Unlimited Source of every good. And this will lead us to even higher results.

In the Bible, the word "enemies" represents our fears, our doubts, the difficulties and the problems. The city symbolises our Soul because we live there internally. So the promise that "Your descendants will take possession of the cities of their enemies" means that no fear, doubt or trouble will be able to overwhelm your Soul because by your choice to trust the God within, you become the Lord of your Soul. At the same time, "through your offspring, all nations on earth will be blessed, because you have obeyed me," means that you become a blessing for everyone you meet, which is perhaps the greatest gift!

Metamorphosis

So, find what blocks your progress, look for what prevents your prayers from being answered, what does not leave your incredible potential to manifest and ascend to Mount Morea (that means High) for the sacrifice. Only in this way you can prove your faith to yourself, not to God. He already knows and is, every moment, by your side to prepare the best for you. Besides, as we said, God does not want proofs or sacrifices; we need them, in order to transform ourselves from a caterpillar to a butterfly. So you will eventually find that this is not at all a sacrifice but the beginning of the great victory. The triumph of Love and Good, that is to say, your triumph!

Do not forget that no matter how much you will improve yourself, even the less possible, God will thank you!

Beautiful message conveyed in your article!

One must sacrifice lust, anger, greed, jealousy, arrogance etc. and embrace love, care, kindness, peace and compassion. This is the basic rule that the Almighty wants us to follow.

Thank you for this beautiful message. God does not need our sacrifice. As you said He knows what is in our hearts, but He knows that WE need to sacrifice so that we rely not on ourselves but on His pure wisdom and love. "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid." (John 14:27).

I enjoyed reading this article and how you applied the Scriptures to us as individuals in our daily walk in the love of God.

God knows all, and it is we who are needing proofs and instructions. In I Samuel, when speaking to Saul who had disobeyed the prophet Samuel's revelation to Saul from God:

"Now go and smite Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have, and spare them not; but slay both man and woman, infant and suckling, ox and sheep, camel and ass." Saul decided to change what the Lord commanded him to seem more reasonable to his thinking of things. God said to destroy all, but Saul wanted to save the best for rituals and kept the king alive.

God informed Samuel of this disobedience who instructed Saul that

"Hath the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold, to cobey, is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams."

God wants to know that we will obey and gives us ways to show the faith in Him that He knows that we have. It gives us the confidence to continue to grow in faith and love towards Him.

Thanks for this article. The principle of obedience that brings rewards is true. Abraham became the father of many from which three world religions came to bless the world with the truths of love, Judaism, Christianity, and Islam.

Hello, Sean, in the very first opening paragraph, I have no problem identifying that book as the Bible, from my reading and understand of the Gospel of John. The Bible fill and over-fill the whole world, and saturates the heavens!

So, every question, and answer a person have, is like a FAQ! And the best thing about this is that the Bible has got all the answers! I thank the great God for all this. Good day to you today.
