What Is the Work of the Holy Spirit?

Pastoral Counselor ordained Elder/Minister Ambassador at Alpha 7 Ministries M.A.Christian Clinical Counseling Certified in Creation Therapy

The Eternal Constant Comforter

What Is The Work of THE HOLY SPIRIT?

God is the Center of the universe, life and living. God's Holy Spirit His Comforter is omnipresent. GOD has given us His Holy Spirit to bring us to all TRUTH! His Holy Spirit dwells within us as believers. We can call upon our Lord and Savior at anytime and anywhere. But we are to love, honor, adore and respect God's presence. God is forever faithful. It is important to spend time with the Lord in His Word. This is so very important because this is also when the Lord manifests and multiplies the Fruit of His Spirit within us. This increases our faith & trust in God. Through the Holy Spirit we are able to overcome anything and everything that comes our way. We as true faithful believers are to "Walk by Faith!"

"For by GRACE are you SAVED through FAITH; and not of yourself for it is a GIFT from GOD: Not of works lest any Man/Woman should boast. For we are HIS workmanship, created in CHRIST JESUS unto good works, which GOD hath ordained that we should walk in them." Ephesians 6

By the precious Blood of Christ Jesus, we have been redeemed, saved, washed, cleansed and sanctified by the power of His Holy Spirit. For He fulfilled the law and overcame sin, death and the grave for us. Through Him we have the Victory to be more than Conquerors. For Christ Jesus has imparted His righteousness to me/us.

Yes, Lord to your will and Your way!

"Wherefore I am made a minister; according to the dispensation of GOD which is given to me for you, to fulfill the Word of God.

Even the mystery that has been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to the saints.

To whom GOD would make known what is the riches of the glory among the Gentiles; which is CHRIST in you the hope of glory.

Whom we preach warning every man/woman, and teaching every man/woman in all wisdom; that ye may present every man/woman perfect in CHRIST JESUS..." Colossians 1

What has been happening around us

Despite the lessening residual impact of the past economic recession, we all have globally experienced know that there is no recession in Heaven! Nor will there ever be. Despite the fact that the United States of America was actually "Shut Down." Despite the fact that there continues to be an extreme overload of political ambiguity; KNOW that GOD is still in control. Despite the fact that the United States has even voted against the WORD of GOD in favor of same sex unions shows that GOD still extends HIS MERCY. GOD does not force His will or way upon us. He has not made us robots. This is why it is so very important to know HIs Word for yourself. He has given us the freedom to choose. Therefore, we all everywhere must continuously pray that GOD opens up the hearts and minds to His Will & His Way!

The extreme global climatic conditions such as earthquakes, flooding, hurricanes, political unrest, and the alarming ongoing plethora of senseless mass shootings we see happening all around us; are part and parcel of the results of the world at large not acknowledging the Lord for who He is! This atrocious egregious Corona Virus Pestilence & Pandemic continues to globally impact the world at large. Although vaccinations have been made and manufactured to diminish its overall impact it remains. More variants also continue to surface. God really does have a better way for us to live. We must each earnestly as well as collectively seek His will and His way.

All GOD'S promises are true whether you believe them or not. GOD is more than able! The LORD has a limitless reservoir and a multitude of ways of providing for any and everything we might ever need in order to live life on this side of heaven. For; “The earth is the Lord’s and all its fullness, the world and those who dwell therein.”

What is the work of the Holy Spirit?

In His Word He tells us that “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. ” God’s Word actually became flesh and dwelt among us. Jesus Christ is HIS Living Word! To those who believe we have been given “the right to become children of God.” Once we accept Jesus as Savior and Lord into our hearts, His Holy Spirit takes up residence within us. We then must daily or whenever necessary ask to be filled by His presence. When we do this, we are able to access the spiritual strength necessary to overcome walking in the flesh. We then begin to recognize things about ourselves and those around us that were once simply overlooked. We also begin to respond, be and live quite differently from the world.

This is why we pray. Prayer keeps us connected to God our Father in heaven. For heaven is His throne and the earth is HIs footstool. How amazing the fact that He is omnipresent. God has given us HIS WORD for our "Daily Bread.” For it is our necessary essential Spiritual Food for our mind, body and soul. Therefore, we should spend some time daily with the Lord in His Word. Invite the Lord to speak to your heart. God has promised to take care of His children. Regardless of what the world does we are to seek the will of GOD for our daily lives above all. His Word is actually our “manna from heaven” Do not ever forget that it is necessary essential spiritual food for our soul’s wellbeing. I do not at all mean this in a ritualistic legalistic manner. It may help to perhaps begin try thinking of His Word as a vital daily necessary delicious nutritious spiritual passion fruit full of essential nutrients. It is absolutely wonderful. After all, it is supposed to be “a Lamp unto our feet and a Light unto our path.”

Are you feeling a great void? Are you feeling alone? Does your life have meaning? It is important to know that you have a purpose. What is the work of the Holy Spirit? His Holy Spirit is available as our constant Guide.

The Holy Spirit is our internal Counselor our source of spiritual understanding.

Jesus lived on this earth in the flesh as a sinless man as an example for us. He went through persecutions, mistreatment, physical punishment, being totally misunderstood and lied upon, and many many other unpleasant intolerable and difficult situations for us. He demonstrated while in the flesh that despite the way He was treated He could remain obedient to the call on His life. He remained focused on His purpose, and He lived righteously and victoriously! His purpose was to fulfill the will of our Father God. He gave His life so we could live life more abundantly in every way. Abundance meaning having plenty or more than enough not just materially but emotionally, physically and spiritually as well. His abundance yields wholeness!

Take some time and feast on what God’s Word tells us in Galatians 5 about the works of the flesh and the Fruit of His Spirit. God did not make us robots. He allows us the right to choose. Yes, there is liberty in Christ, but know that there are consequences for those choices. God’s Word is full of a plethora of endless examples of real people who were not very different from us. We can learn a lot from some of the things that they went through. We can make better life decisions or do the same, or just ignore it completely and simply do our own thing?

Jesus Christ gave His life so we could have the indwelling presence of His Holy Spirit. Did you know “He chose us before the foundation of the world, to be Holy and blameless in His sight.” It is what is right in His sight that really matters, because He sees us from the inside out. God knows who belongs to Him, He knows all about us. He knew in the very beginning what would be going on right NOW!

The world at large does not embrace what God has to say. In many ways it encourages you to do the very opposite. Just do whatever makes you feel good! No wonder that the Supreme Court of the United States of America voted to approve same sex unions. Hm, yet we say we are "one nation under God?" Today just about anything goes... LORD HAVE MERCY! The noise of the world continues to get louder and make more demands to satisfy the desires of the flesh! God's Word is too often set aside. When you truly Love, trust & depend upon the Lord, brace yourself for the unexpected. The world as well as some of your friends and love ones will think you are a bit strange when you sincerely commit to HIS WILL & HIS WAY!!! GOOD! As a child of GOD we are supposed to be peculiar to the world! HALLLELLLUJAH ANYHOW!!! Rest in knowing that you are on a firm foundation when you truly TRUST GOD! HE WILL MAKE YOUR PATH STRAIGHT! We are to be "in the world but not of the world!"

One must become discerning to know the difference! Yes, we can enjoy the arts, movies, sports, television, recreation, travel, and so much more. But as His children we should first diligently seek Him and strive to faithfully, daily live our lives to PLEASE & PRAISE HIM! Not just on Sunday, but each and every day. Each of our lives have a purpose? Everywhere we are and everywhere we go GOD is with us! The beautiful thing about God is it does not matter how young or old you are GOD has no grandchildren. We are all children in His sight and as long as He has us on this side of heaven we are here to learn and continue to grow gracefully!

God is the Giver and Sustainer of life!

The greatest thing that you could ever really do is give your life to Christ Jesus! Pause, ponder and think about that for a moment. What does it mean to really give your life to Jesus! It is so much more than just walking down the aisle and giving someone your hand to join the fellowship... Is there something, some situation or someone you need to give to Jesus? GOD WANTS TO BE A PART OF EVERY AREA OF OUR LIFE! Although it may get difficult at times, just know it may not feel good but, HE IS ABLE! Confess! Repent! Seek His direction. Then apply His Word in your life. When you accept Him as Lord of your life, in His time He can and will work everything out for your GOOD as He has promised! Now this does not mean at all that everything will be good. But it is true in His time, He will work it ALL out for GOOD… Change is inevitable.

GOD is more than able in any situation

Crisis will come and go in our lives. The seasons change but you must know GOD IS ALWAYS IN SEASON! It is during these times we must learn to Trust God, apply His Word within our lives each day and become resilient. Embrace God's principles daily. Come what may you will be better prepared. Commit to; "Be God's Church every day and everywhere!" This will help you to be able to cope with any seasonal crisis. You can become better and not bitter! Spend some time today and every day in the presence of the Lord. God is more than able! We have been given a constant Comforter; His Holy Spirit! THANK YOU, LORD! & PRAISE GOD!!!

Dear Mr.s Deborrah : How beautiful this hub and meassage is. The photographs in the cathedrals are profound and beautiful and they seem so impossibly difficult to build I would imagine, or perhaps so patiently and artfully created. So much devotion to God is in the art of the churches. The message, that we have a purpose in being here. To help one another, or to love one another or to be kind and good teachers of children and for one another. So much purpose if we think about it. God Bless You Dear Heart.

Elder DeBorrah K Ogans (author) on September 25, 2009:

Absolutely Nothing JESUS ever did was wrong, He ONLY is SINLESS!

“He is the image of The invisible GOD, the Firstborn over ALL creation. For by HIM ALL THINGS were created that are in HEAVEN and EARTH, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. ALL THINGS were created through HIM and for HIM. HE IS before ALL THINGS, and IN HIM ALL THINGS consists. And HE is THE HEAD of the body, the Church, who is the beginning, the Firstborn from the dead, that in ALL THINGS HE MAY HAVE THE PREEMINENCE.”

It is my prayer that you come to know Him as Savior and Lord.

lela on September 25, 2009:

Now hang on about Jesus. The rules of the Jews were when one disobeyed they stated why, and maybe to receive help, and apologised to God, and to the victims, and felt sorry within themselves. The people were forgiven when they admitted wrongdoing. Until this occurred, the wrong doers were cast out. Now Jesus, went among the wrongdoers, like the criminals who were not yet sorry, like letting people out of prison too soon. How academically trained are people when they give religious comment? It was never, do wrong and you wont be forgiven. Then Jesus came along. Jesus suffered because during those times, his activities were out of place and out of position. He pushed things too soon. He had a temper. Try going to parliament about a disputed matter and say we want to change legislation for animals to receive income support assistance for vet care, when parliament says you shouldn't have an animal, but you are right it's not fair for the animal, and yell, and overturn tables. Yes, you will be known as a good person, but a disruptive one and will be put away

Thanks so much. :)

Robert E Smith from Rochester, New York on September 16, 2009:

When you consider the change of point of view of Jesus it kinda blows your mind. He is Lord of the universe and then puts on human flesh to resemble sinning mankind. He's surrounded by sin and death like entering into a festering wound and living there for three years. They say that each person is covered in hair and skin cells that cling to them but those cells are dead. Death was all around Him. He is Life and Life was baptized in death. He knows all about us and all of this scientific stuff. How did He see us knowing what He knows? It is all so compelling. Thanks Deb, love ya.

Philipo from Nigeria on September 16, 2009:

You got it! It is easy to see why the carnal mind will not receive this TRUTH! It is kind of scary in a GOOD way.

Now that you have reverent fear for the Lord! You desire sincerely to want to know the things of God. His Holy Spirit then opens your understanding.

Yes, is it not beautiful you/we are NOW new creatures in Him!

Elder DeBorrah K Ogans (author) on September 15, 2009:

Thank you for visiting and your kind words.

Yes we are on the same page. It is a wonderful thing to know that His Holy Spirit is with you. There is a security it brings yet also an awareness to be on alert. The world does not readily embrace His Truth that we Love and hold close to heart! Yes I can relate. It is a blessing to know how the Lord brings about a oneness! God is AWESOME! Have a GREAT & MARVELOUS day! Until next time…
