Are We Living in the Last Days?

Claudette Carter, is thrilled to share the good news of Jehovah God's kingdom and its hope for the future with people of all nations.

Four Reasons We Are Living In Critical Times During these Last Days

Reason (1) People will be selfish, disobedient and unholy during the last days.

Citizens are skeptical as to whom they can trust. Perilous times loom over us, just as The Scofield Reference Bible foretold at 2Timothy 3:1, "This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.“ The instabilities that exist regarding whether our children should return to #public schools during this pandemic is shocking. Anthony Mason of CBS This Morning news presented an interesting story on New Covid Warnings for Kids. “This morning Cornavirus has left at least 1,500 teachers quarantined in at least eight states. In a new report the American Academy of Pediatrics recommend masks for all kids two and older at school and in public spaces. It also warns that #asymptomatic children who test positive should be isolated for up to 14 days to avoid spreading the virus.“ It seems as though no one is sure about the solution to this vital concern regarding our children and the public school system in the midst of this pandemic.

A special series was featured by Tony Dokoupil of CBS This Morning entitled, School Matters. The different policies concerning #reopening of schools vary at state and local levels. Tony proceeded with these vital facts, “The US has more than 13,000 public school districts but l gotta tell you almost as many different plans for reopening. At least eight states are pushing back their start dates or going a step further in recommending that some schools remain closed at least for now. Four other states ordered schools to provide a form of in-person instruction but for the vast majority of the country the plans vary not by state but by district according to Education Week which sampled hundreds of communities all across the country including the one hundred largest school districts in the US. About a quarter of those districts are planning partial or full in-person reopenings but nearly three quarters of schools sampled 73% are planning remote learning only and that is a complicated reality because remote learning is not a easy solution for everyone. There is a report out right now that Common Sense Media estimates up to 16 million public school students lack either adequate internet access or computers and of course you need both if you want to facilitate remote learning and by the way it is not just students but 10% of teachers fall into this category as well.” The discrepancies continue to mount regarding the reopening of our schools whether its a state or local decision during this pandemic. Now we also have to consider the economic factors that can detrimentally effect remote learning. Will we see an ironclad solution for our children in the near future?

National correspondent David Begnaud of CBS news commented regarding school districts in Florida. “Nearly all of the school districts here in the state of Florida are being ordered by leaders to offer some kind of in-person learning. Meanwhile the state‘s largest teacher’s union is suing over that saying, ‘It’s not a good idea because the virus is too widespread in th state that continues to be a hotspot for the country. Meanwhile parents at this very moment are trying to make what they think is the best decision for their kids, about whether they should actually go into the classroom.’”

The uncertainty of the times, should not cause fear or overwhelming depression. The Bible prophesied that things would occur as they are and we have the opportunity to see their fulfillment. We were eerily warned at 2Timothy 3:2, "For Men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, . . ." This is one of the reasons given within the thoughts of God’s word the Bible to help us understand the daunting problems that exist within our lives today.

On the Bible based website JW.ORG by Jehovah’s Witnesses an amazing article is featured and it ask the question, What Does the Bible Say About Pandemics? It goes on to explain, “The Bible foretold that pestilences (widespread diseases, including pandemics) would occur during the last days. (Luke 21:11) Such pandemics are not divine retribution or punishment from God. In fact by means of his Kingdom , God will soon put an end to all health problems, including pandemics.” It is those days and times we pray for and anticipate with all our faith and hope. Reason (2) Love would be lacking, savage acts would be performed against each other and love of goodness would be limited.

I hesitate to utter the next prophecy foretold which is so prevalent today. Notice the intensity of the descriptive terms, that prove the second reason we are truly, "in the last days of this system of things." The scripture at 2Timothy 3:3 illustrates how people would react, based on The New Testament Recovery Version, "Without natural affection, implacable, slanderers, without self-control, savage, not lovers of good, . . ." The manifestation of bullies continues to increase, where some of our young people are picked on, to the point of killing themselves. Adults are bullied within relationships or at their form of employment. How does #bullying parallel with words mentioned above? Webster's New Collegiate Dictionary defines a bully as, "One habitually cruel to others weaker than himself to treat abusively: to use browbeating language or behavior. Disposed to inflict pain or suffering: devoid of humane feelings." Clearly, descriptive terms that evolve into such characteristics previously mentioned, "without natural affection, savage, slanderers, not lovers of good." These words are fulfilled in numerous situations within our world today which proves once again the second reason that we are living in the last days.

News stories are presented daily in regards to the havoc that exist with Race and Policing in America. News anchorwoman Michelle Miller of CBS This Morning reported, “There is disturbing new video of what happened to #George Floyd before his death, at the hands of the police. A crowd gathered as Floyd was held down. Many people asked the police to check his pulse. Floyd’s death is linked to a troubling reality regarding encounters with law enforcement. On average black men and women are five times more likely to be stopped by police without good reason than white people.” Michelle went on to talk about excessive force within police departments on black Americans due to #systemic racism. “Even tennis star James Blake once ranked fourth in the world was not immune to the desperate treatment by cops.“ Miller interviewed James Blake as he painfully expressed, “When l leave the tennis world l go back to being just a black man and that means if l put a huddie on and l go out for a run l’m a suspect.” Michelle Miller acknowledged during the interview outrageous treatment by police against Blake. “In 2015 Blake was forcibly taken down by an NYPD officer while standing outside of a New York City hotel in a case of mistaken identity.“ This video is featured at the lower part of this article of that arrest. James Blake dolefully expressed, “l wasn’t even mistaken for a violent criminal. The person he was looking for was someone making credit card fraud. Instead of me running or me fighting if that had been the case, l have the feeling he would have made it a whole lot worse.” The interview ended as Blake explained, five years later he still has mental scars and becomes uneasy around police due to this officer’s abuse of power on Blake.

Racism is dreadfully painful to the recipient. The trauma of this experience can have an everlasting effect on individuals. Dr. Monica Williams was also a part of Michelle Miller’s interview when she stated, “Dr. Monica Williams have studied racial trauma for much of her career and says, ‘A starting point for change is a simple one: understanding what is racism. For most white people racism is a white supremacist or somebody running around burning crosses. The bigger problem is that our culture operates under an umbrella of white supremacy. We have racist outcomes even without individual people doing racist things.” I feel comfort in the validated fact that our Grand Creator Jehovah God is not partial based on the Bible. “At this Peter began to speak, and he said: ‘Now l truly understand that God is not partial, but in every nation the man who fears him and does what is right is acceptable to him.’” (Acts 10:34, 35) New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures.

Reason (3) People will be reckless, full of pride with little or no interest in God.

A third reason we can be confident these are the last days of this system as foretold at 2Timothy 3:4 conveys that some individuals would be, "Traitors, reckless, blinded with pride, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, . . ." Today the world is filled with greed that deterioates the stability of our economy. Taxes are forced on individuals whether they are upper, middle or lower class. This money is spent recklessly as political officials, pridefully argue about how it should be spent; in order to promote their own career. In the meantime, the burden of these taxes remain on the backs of each citizen. The banking industry was bailed out by these same committed people, now to discover, they have become protesters crying in the streets for help, that never comes. #Pornography, infiltrates the very fabric of the internet causing an increase of such perverse acts as child molestation, prostitution, physical and mental abuse. The actions described truly fulfill and acknowledge a third source of proof that we are living in the last days of this wicked system of things which Satan, maintains control over.

Reason (4) Individuals will appear to have godly devotion but their actions prove to be the opposite.

Now for the fourth and final source of proof that these times are not only critical but detrimental to our spirituality. We continue in the book of 2Timothy 3:5 which unfortunately explain how people would be, "Having an outward form of godliness, though denying its power; from these also turn away." The caliber of Christians or people who profess a belief in God is declining as new forms of atheism increase. Many flatly refuse to recognize that without beliefs based on the Bible, the world would truly be in anarchy. Jehovah, our Grand Creator, gave us the innate sense to know what is right or wrong. Due to man's imperfections, a person that is directed by his own conscience without God, can sometimes be misled or influenced to compromise their true principles. Regardless of our faith or lack of it, violence against our brothers or sisters can never be explained as a true form of godliness. We must not be lured to believe that any human will ever be able to bring us #true peace and happiness. Our imperfections, will never allow us to fulfill these goals. All humans have an inherent desire to live peacefully, regardless of what they believe. Denial that there is a God was foretold in the scriptures. Once again, God did not lie and he continues to prove that we are in the last days of this system. His prohecies with the Bible are still accurate and dependable as ever. Jehovah God extends his loving kindness and blessings through the precious blood of his son Jesus Christ. God has set up a Kingdom under Jesus that will rule forever and rid the earth of all problems such as sicknes, death, pain or sorrow.

Finally, all four reasons presented have been fulfilled and will continue to be fulfilled proving that we are in "perilous times" because we are living in the last days of this wicked system; ruled by Satan and his demons. There is no need to panic or feel threatened. We are still living and breathing. This grants us time to admit the things we visualize today are fulfillment of scriptures but we still have time to seek the truth that can save our lives. Don't give up because God loves you. Therefore, never give up on seeking what Jehovah's will is for you and then try to accomplish that.
