Top 9 Super Miracles Performed on Earth

Dieudonne NKUNDIMANA, is a man saved by the blood of Jesus Christ through faith, and now is a Christian born again by the Holy spirit.

How many miracles were performed on earth? This is a question that might come up in the mind of everyone who lives on this earth and who want to know more about miracles performed on earth. The answer is that: there are so many miracles performed on earth such that some are taken for granted because they are not well and fully known.

According to the Holy Bible, Jesus himself performed many miracles but all are not written. ‘‘Jesus performed many other signs in the presence of his disciples, which are not recorded in this book.’’ (John 20:30 NIV)

Some miracles were performed in Old Testament by the prophets and others were performed in New Testament by the prophets, disciples, preachers and Jesus Christ himself. The research conducted in the whole Bible; the top 9 miracles performed on earth are:

  1. Taking away people’s sins
  2. Raising up the dead
  3. The Holy God dwelling in human being body
  4. A man in the belly of the fish three days alive
  5. The King driven away from people and eat grass as oxen
  6. Caught up to the heaven without experiencing death
  7. A human being stopping Sun and Moon movement
  8. Healing a blind man with durst
  9. Drying up the water of the Sea and rivers and the people crossed

1.Taking away people’s sins

Forgiving sins is a great miracle to us human being because no one could do it but God alone. That is why Pharisees were astonished to see Jesus forgiving sins. ‘‘The Pharisees and the teachers of the law began thinking to themselves, ‘who is this fellow who speaks blasphemy? Who can forgive sins but God alone’.’’ (Luke 5:21 NIV). Ans in Old Testament forgiveness of sins were there but in indirect way through the sacrifice of animals every year and this couldn’t take away sins. ‘‘And every priest stands daily ministering and offering often times the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins.’’ (Hebrews 10:11 Scofield)

This kind of miracle of taking away sins was performed for the first time by Jesus Christ when He has forgiven a paralyzed man’s sins. ‘‘And it came to pass on a certain day, as he was teaching, that there were Pharisees and doctors of the law sitting by, which were come out of every town of Galilee, and Judaea, and Jerusalem: and the power of the Lord was present to heal them. And, behold, men brought in a bed and man which was taken with a palsy: and they sought means to bring him in, and to lay him before him. And when they could not find by what way they might bring him in because of the multitude, they went upon the housetop, and let him down through the tiling with his couch into the midst before Jesus. And when he saw their faith, he said unto him, Man, your sins are forgiven you.’’ (Luke 5:17-20 Scofield)

Taking away our sins was one of the priorities that brought Jesus Christ on earth. ‘‘The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, ‘Lord, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world’.’’ (John 1:29 NIV)

According to William Branham (a prophet born in 1906 Kentucky, U.S.A), The miracle which is far beyond any physical healing that could be done is the miracle of forgiveness of sins. Greatest miracle ever performed is when God can take someone, and convert him, and bring him back to himself again: change his whole nature, appetites, attitudes, and everything. The greatest miracle is what God does when he saves a man from sin. (56-0212 Fellowship, paragraph 4)

2. Raising up the dead

The dead resurrected in Old Testament they are only two. For the first time a dead raised up was when Elisha prayed for the Shunamite's son. “And when Elisha was come into the house, behold, the child was dead, and laid upon his bed. He went in therefore, and shut the door upon them twain, and prayed unto the Lord. And he went up, and lay upon the child, and put his mouth upon his mouth, and his eyes upon his eyes, and his hands upon his hands: and he stretched himself upon the child and the flesh of the child waxed warm. Then he turned, and walked in the house to and from; and went up, and stretched himself upon him: and the child sneezed seven times, and the child opened his eyes. And he called Gehazi, and said, call this Shunamite. So, he called her. And when she was come in unto him, he said, take up your son.” (2Kings 4:32-36 Scofield)

The second time when a man raised up is when the dead man’s body touched Elisha’s bones and the man came to life. “Elisha died and was buried. Now Moabite raiders used to enter the country every spring. Once while some Israelites were burying a man, suddenly they saw a band of raiders. So, they threw the man’s body into Elisha’s tomb. When the body touched Elisha’s bones, the man came to life and stood upon his feet.’’ (2Kings 13:20-21 NIV)

If we observe in New Testament how many miracles of raising up the dead were performed, we may find that they are countless because only few among other many are written either in the Bible or even today. Some examples of such miracle in New Testament are the ones performed by Jesus Christ. He raised a dead girl whose father was a synagogue leader. (Matthew 9:18-26 NIV), resurrection of Lazarus from the dead after four days he is dead. (John 11:1-44 NIV). And others were performed later by his disciples along the church ages.

What was the super miracle in resurrection of dead is that Jesus Christ died and raised up himself from the dead on the third day. “He said, ‘do not be afraid. You are looking for Jesus of Nazareth who was nailed to a cross. He is risen! He is not here! See, here is the place where they laid him. Go and tell his followers and Peter that he is going ahead of you into Galilee. You will see him there as he told you’.’’ (Mark 16:5-7 NIV)

Only Jesus had the power and authority of raising up himself from the dead. “Jesus answered them, ‘destroy this temple, and I will raise it again in three days.” (John 2:19 NIV). Here, Jesus was talking about his death because his body is a temple.

3. The Holy God dwelling in Human being body

God himself is a spirit. “God is a spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.” (John 4:24 Scofield). And he is invisible. “Who is the image of the invisible God, the first born of every creature. (Colossians 1:15 Scofield). Then God as he is a spirit and invisible, he created a body that he might live in. that body is called Jesus. The Bible says, “And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.” (1Timothy 3:16 Scofield).

After the death of Jesus Christ, buried and raised up from the dead, was taken up to heaven but promised to come back in spirit form for dwelling in us because we are his temple. “For we are co-workers in God’s service; you are God’s field, God’s building.” (1Corinthians 3:9 NIV)

4. A man in the belly of the fish three days alive

This miracle occurs one time in God’s believers’ history from Genesis up to revelation even today. It’s not a usual event for human being to see someone spending three days in the belly of the fish breathing and praying without any problem. It has never happened anywhere again. “Now the Lord provided a huge fish to swallow Jonah, and Jonah was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights.” (Jonah 1:17 NIV)

5. The King driven away from his people and eat grass as Oxen

Miraculously, the King Nebuchadnezzar his royal authority has been taken from him and spent 7 years, far from his people and lived with the wild animals, eating grass like Oxen. Some people think that it is a myth because it’s not understandable according to our real sense because it has never happened any more. “The same hour was the thing fulfilled upon Nebuchadnezzar: and he was driven from men, and did eat grass as Oxen, and his body was going with the dew of heaven, till his hairs were grown like eagles, feathers, and his nails like birds’ claws.” (Daniel 4:33 Scofield)

“Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so, shall we ever be with the Lord.” (1 Thessalonians 4:17)

— Paul

6. Caught up to the heaven without experiencing death

According to the Holy Bible, Paul said that we will not precede those who have died. But by miracle, we find two men in the Old Testament have taken away from this life without respecting the order of what Paul has written.

The first person taken away without experiencing death is Enoch. The Bible says, “By faith Enoch was taken from this life, so that he did not experience death: he could not be found, because God had taken him away. For before he was taken, he was commended as one who pleased God.” (Hebrews 11:5 NIV)

The second person taken away is Elijah. “As they were walking along and talking together, suddenly a chariot of fire and horses of fire appeared and separated the two of them, and Elijah went up to heaven in a whirlwind.” (2Kings 2:11 NIV)

Notice: Only these two men were taken away without experiencing the death. The rest, we are still waiting for the rapture of all saints when Jesus will come to take up his bride.

7. A human being stopping the Sun and Moon movement

God created the Sun and Moon for lightening the earth and how they function it’s by nature. But one day a man called Joshua stopped their system of lightening when God gave him that power to do so till the nation avenge itself on its enemies. It happened only that time and it has never happened no more. It was for a precise purpose.

On the day the Lord gave the Amorites over to Israel, Joshua said to the Lord in the presence of Israel: ‘Sun, stand still over Gibeon, and you, Moon, over the valley of Ai Jalon.’ So, the Sun stood till, and the Moon stopped, till the nation avenged itself on its enemies, as it is written in the book of Jashar. The Sun stopped in the middle of the sky and delayed going down about a full day. There has never been a day like it before or since, a day when the Lord listened to a human being.” (Joshua 10:12-14 NIV)

8. Drying up the water of the Sea and Rivers and the people crossed

Miracles of drying the water of the sea and rivers occurred four times in the Old Testament and it occurred no more. For the first time, prophet Moses separated water of the red sea by stretching out his hand over it. “Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and all that night the Lord drove the sea back with a strong east wind and turned it into dry Land. The waters were divided, and the Israelites went through the sea on dry ground, with a wall of water on their right and on their left. (Exodus 14:21-22 NIV)

Another such miracle was performed for the second time by Joshua together with the priests carrying the ark of the covenant while the Israelites were crossing the river, Jordan. “Now the Jordan is at flood stage all during harvest. Yet as soon as the priest who carried the ark reached the Jordan and their feet touched the water’s edge, the water from upstream stopped flowing. It piled up in a heap a great distance away, at a town called Adam in the Vicinity of Zerethan, while the water flowing down to the sea of the Arabah (that is, the dead sea) was completely cut off. So, the people crossed over opposite Jericho. The priests who carried the ark of the covenant of the Lord stopped in the middle of the Jordan and stood on dry ground, while all Israel passed by until the whole nation had completed the crossing on dry ground. (Joshua 3:15-17; 4:23 NIV)

The third time, such miracle was performed by Elijah when he was going to be taken away. Here Elijah was together with Elisha. “Elijah took his cloak, rolled it up and struck the water with it. The water divided to the right and to the left, and the two of them crossed over on dry ground.” (2Kings 2:8 NIV)

The fourth time and the last, Elisha who was accompanying Elijah, now is back with Elijah’s cloak. He has used it to divide Jordan’s water. “He took the cloak that had fallen from Elijah and struck the water with it. ‘Where now is the Lord, the God of Elijah?’ he asked. When he trucks the water, it divided to the right and to the left, and he crossed over.” (2Kings 2:14 NIV)

9.Healing a blind man with durst

It is known that durst is harmful to our eyes. But Jesus Christ has used it to heal the blind person. this miracle was performed for the first time by Jesus and it has never performed no more. “After saying this, he spit on the ground, made some mud with the saliva, and put it on the man’s eyes. ‘Go’ he told him, ‘Wash in the pool of Siloam’ (this word means ‘sent’). So, the man went and washed, and came home seeing.” (John 9: 6-7 NIV)

Miracles are performed to manifest God’s power of healing and save his creature.
