Hints from Matthew 24:40-41 regarding Harpazo
It is written in Matthew 24:40-41,
"Two men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other left. Two women will be grinding with a handmill, one will be taken and the other left."
From this passage, we can derive four implications pertaining to the timing of the Rapture or the catching away of the church.
- First, it can be implied from the passage that the Rapture take place in a regular working day in Israel, not in a special holiday nor feast day nor sabbath. I take into consideration that the Lord's model is the nation Israel for this passage. It is indicated in the passage that men are out working in the field and women are grinding with a handmill. It is a known fact that Israel observes sabbath and special feast days when citizens should cease from working. The passage above implies it is not a sabbath or special feast day since people are working in the fields. This is consistent with what Jesus says in Matthew 24:44, "So you must also be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him."
- It can also be implied that it is a harvest season for grains possibly wheat grains. It is indicated in the passage that the women are grinding with a handmill. A handmill is usually used to pulverize or crush grains thus this is somewhat a season for harvesting grains. Wheat grains are usually planted in October to December then it is harvested after 7 to 8 months. If it is sown in October it will be harvested in May or June. It must cover a period of three months from the time of Passover which marks the beginning of barley harvest, up to the end of wheat harvest. This year Passover took place on March 27. Thus, wheat harvest should end on June 25.
It can also be implied that this is not a rainy season in Israel. The men are out in the fields implies that the weather is fine. Israel has two seasons. First, the cool rainy season which takes place from October up to April then the hot summer season takes place from May to September. Since this is a summer season in Israel at this time, it is a period of harvest.
Finally it can be implied that Israel at this time is not involved in a major miltary conflict. Israel is not at war during this time. If Israel is engaged in a major war during this time, these men and women would not be doing what they are supposed to do during harvest season. If Israel is at war during this time, these men and women should be in bomb shelters securing themselves from missile attacks. It must be a time of peace in Israel, it could be the period of 'Calm before the STORM.' It is written in I Thessalonians 5:3, "while people are saying 'peace and safety,' destruction will come on them suddenly as labor pains on a pregnant woman, and they will not escape."
This could be the time when Israel's enemies are devicing a plot to overthrow and blot out Israel from the region.
After 11 days of heavy military operations on Gaza, Israel finally agreed on a ceasefire. Israel 's enemies might see it as an opportunity to engage themselves to thorough military planning before they launch their next major attack that could bring about the war depicted on Psalm 83.
Thus, we can deduce from here that the Harpazo or Rapture or the catching away of the church could happen before Psalm 83 war, not at the time when war is breaking out in Israel.
The season of Harpazo may be upon us since we may be in that period many called, 'the CALM before the STORM.' We are also living in a time when the fig tree generation is about to end. Last week, I had this vision, the closing of a door. I can see in the vision that there is only little space between the door and the doorframe or doorpost. We may be given only little time to establish ourselves in the Lord. It is about time to put our house in order. It is about time to bid farewell to all our self- centered agenda and set our highest priority on the Kingdom of God. It is about time to cease from living to satisfy the fleshly and worldly cravings of our hearts and start to fulfill God's purposes for our lives.
