3. Preach of Teach the Same Way

There are many preachers whose preaching have been revolving around a particular subject as if that is the only subject in the bible. One of the worrying thing about these kinds of preachers is that their preaching too are centered on what a preacher in the nineteenth century has preached even that kind of preaching they would not modify nor add some points to it themselves. As long as these people continue to revolve around the same focus, they will always have the same result for what they are preaching. People who will have different results are those who get themselves updated spiritually, even if the will preach the same message, they will update themselves on what they have jotted down, they will do other research into the subject in the bible as well as using some other bible commentaries available. Thanks to God for the technological advancement which has given birth to the internet, which have been utilized by brethren all over the globe, different topics in the scriptures have been uploaded on the social media all that is required for updating one’s knowledge is reading through some of those works, get the required points, add yours to it before presenting those messages to the brethren while teaching them. Those who are updating themselves this way would always see changes in their ministries because they shall be coming forth with new thing for the brethren. The ears of men itch to hear new thing every day. When one continues to recycle old thing, a point would be reached that the ear would not want to hear such again, because it has become monotonous, it is being recycled.

The apostles when they were on earth preached the same messages albeit in different ways which gives power and potency to their preaching. It is the same with Jesus. Jesus equally repeats the same message over and over again, but all those messages were presented in different fashion. Jesus messages is centered on returning the world back to God, showing us whom His father was, is and continues to be life without end. Albeit, as he preaches this he presents his sermons and messages differently, thence the people could listen to him, follow him and his ministry could grow. It was stated by followers of his forerunner which is john the Baptist that, they tell their master that all the people are following Jesus. It is because of the changes introduced into his sermons as he was not static in his preaching.

And they came unto John, and said unto him, Rabbi, he that was with thee beyond Jordan, to whom thou barest witness, behold, the same baptizeth, and all men come to him. (Joh 3:26)

If we also want changes in our ministries, we need to do more than we are doing, we need to be updating ourselves, having different means of presenting our messages to our followers, this change will bring the required changes to us.

4. Give The same Offering

Some people have particular amount that they used to offer unto God weekly, monthly and or yearly. As they offer this, they also expects God to increase his blessings unto them. This may not be possible, because we have not changed the amount we have been giving unto God over the years. It is as stated above, that until we change our input into the system, the system will continue to bring out the same output, but when we change our input into the system, it is certain that we shall have different result. If we also change the amount of money we are giving unto God, as our offerings, our God also will change his disposition to us and would also change his blessing pattern on us.

A clear example of this is the case of King Solomon in the bible, his forefathers have limited themselves to the kind of offering they used to give unto God and because they were limited restricted perhaps by what people have taught them they also could witness changes that would be astonishing. He however would not limit himself to what the priests have said, as he did exceptionally, offered great offering unto the Lord. Because he offered great offering unto the Lord his life also experienced changes as the Lord entered into covenant with him which up till now no one has broken.

And the king went to Gibeon to sacrifice there; for that was the great high place: a thousand burnt offerings did Solomon offer upon that altar.

In Gibeon the LORD appeared to Solomon in a dream by night: and God said, Ask what I shall give thee. (1 Ki 3:4-5)

King Solomon perhaps may have done this because he considers himself young, inexperienced like other siblings to lead, yet he was favored by the Lord to lead. Because he was scared and does not want to fail, he has offered to God in abundance, appealing to the mind of God to visit him and have mercy on him and this indeed happened.

Except we also change our disposition to how we give God things, we also may remain at a position that we are in, but if we also could do something that is astonishing, it is certain that God will also do an astonishing thing in our lives. What and when he will do what he will do unto us we cannot say because he is not a static God, he is a dynamic God. We may think he will visit us the exact same night that we do something astonishing like he did unto King Solomon but he may not do that, and he may wait a while before doing that for us, what however is sure is that he will do that, because he says,

Or who hath first given to him, and it shall be recompensed unto him again? (Rom 11:35)

5. Worship the Same way

When we worship God the same way we should not expect anything differently, but when we worship him differently, he will equally show unto us that he is a dynamic God. King David has been worshiping the Lord in a way before but at the time that he wants to give a home to the ark of covenant, he worshipped him differently and God also visits him differently. (2 Sam. 6: 1 ff)
