There Will Never Be A Change Without Changes #1

Over three decades ago I become interested in the Bible, having drank from the heavenly cup once, I have not been tired to drink more

This topic is important because I have taken time to study some changes in Christianity in the land that I live that some ministries are making progresses while there are other ministries which are not making appreciable progress in their ministry and churches. Sometimes many of those who attend those churches not making appreciable progress look at those churches making progress as if to mean they are using some other powers to substitute the power of God and or aiding their ministries and their church expansion and growth. But I have found this not to be wholistic, some of them though use some other powers as such has been from the inception of the world, but much than that, I discovered that many of the ministries and churches not making appreciable impacts are recycling the old thing, saying we should not forsake the old pathway.

Pro_22:28 Remove not the ancient landmark, which thy fathers have set.

Pro_23:10 Remove not the old landmark; and enter not into the fields of the fatherless:

They are claiming that they are the one who is maintaining and or keeping to the old pathway whereas the truth is that they are inputting the same data into the system, and since they are inputting the same thing into the system, they are receiving the same answers as of the old times and days. However, the present dispensation is new system, saddled with technology and all what not, apart from that, those people are equally recycling the same messages and prayers without editing it which does not augur well and for this they could not make appreciable progress.

There is a common quote on the social media that says, “you cannot continue to do the same thing and expect a different result”. If we sit down to analyze this saying we shall see that it is very true. Take as instance when someone continues to input the same data into the computer system and he is looking for a different answer, the person will discover that the answer he keeps getting is the same. As long as the person continues to input that same data, he will receive the same output, but when the person sits down to look at what he is inputting into the system and discovers his error, or decides to change the data, the person would receive a different output. This also is verily true of the world we live in and of what we do in there.

Having said this, I will want us to see few things from the Holy Bible about this stark truth, and how we can navigate this so that we would not be one of the foolish believers.

1. Pray the same way

Prayer as we all know is a means of speaking to the one who is higher than us, or someone who we know can be of assistance to us. The person who can be of assistance to us could be our junior, senior, colleague, brethren etc. When we speak to the person of what we want him or her to do for us because we know it is in the power of the person to do the thing for us. However, the prayer that I want to point us to here, is speaking to the One who is higher than us in all respects called the deity, the supreme God. I want us to see some people from the scriptures whose lives change that their lives changed because they stopped praying the same way. It may be the same prayer, but it was not prayed the same way again.

I said their kind of prayer may be the same because when one has not gotten what one looking for, or what one is praying for, one will continue to talk to God about the thing, putting God in remembrance of the thing as he has said in the scriptures.

Put me in remembrance: let us plead together: declare thou, that thou mayest be justified. (Isa 43:26)

Remembrance in this verse is this Hebrew word “זכר” which when Romanized becomes zâkar (phonetic spelling is zaw-kar') which means to make mention of, to recount, to think on. This therefore means, when one has not attained or gotten what one wants one will keep talking about it to the Lord, showing the Lord through his prayers why he must be justified.

In the next article I will expatiate on this a bit.
