The truth of the Word

Thomas has travelled the world and seen and met with many people of various backgrounds. His motto is, "Travel is the best teacher".

the-truth-of-the-word

There are a lot of people who say things that sound nice, they have a lot of followers because they tell people what they want to hear.
There are "preachers" who give feel-good sermons but never speak about the reality of sin and hell and they too have a lot of followers.
Anyone can say that they have a ministry, tell people what they want to hear and build their "ministry", but what good is it if you have a large ministry and never speak the truth and the word of God in its entirety or you yourself don't live the life you preach?
Sure you can be popular and maybe make a lot of money, but you, just like we all will, will stand before God and be judged. Your popularity and fame and even your wealth will not save you.

Anyone who tells you to do something that goes against God's teaching are not speaking from God. Anyone who tells you it is ok to do something that goes against God is not speaking truth from God.
These people are false prophets, false teachers, false Christians or they simply don't know God's teachings. They are leading people down the path to destruction.

Matthew 24:11
And many false prophets will arise and lead many astray.

1 John 4:1
Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world

Matthew 24:24
For false christs and false prophets will arise and perform great signs and wonders, so as to lead astray, if possible, even the elect.

There are also some people who skim over scripture that does not suit them or scripture that they don't want to abide by.
Know this, just because you ignore some scripture, that does not make it disappear, it does not make it less relevant, it still exists and it is still as relevant as it was when it was first spoken and written down.

Let me give you a couple examples.
The scripture bellow speaks about divorce and remarriage. (This topic has been discussed a lot lately on social media, this is not written because of one person. I am using it because many have been talking about it latley)
The verses are very clear, yet people disobey and do what they want rather than what God says. "Why?"
Their actions tell us that they want to be in a relationship with a person rather than obey God.
They ignore God's teachings. They are rebelling against God.

Does it seem hard? Does it hurt to hear truth? Ask yourself, "Why does the Word of God bother me?", "Why am I feeling upset by words written within the bible?"

Mark 10:11-12
King James Version
11 And he saith unto them, Whosoever shall put away his wife, and marry another, committeth adultery against her.

12 And if a woman shall put away her husband, and be married to another, she committeth adultery

*Now I will add that I do not believe that if you had been divorced and are now remarried, because you did this befoe you learned about this teaching that does not mean to divorce the person you are married to now. But it does mean that you now know the teaching and you mustn't do this again. Reasons for seaparating from ones spouse due to abuse or sexual sin is a whole other topic.

The other verses are in 1 Corinthians 6:9-10.
They too are very clear. They speak about who will not enter the Kingdom of God. Yet we see people ignoring these verses or some say that they are not valid for today. But God does not change and neither does His teachings. The Bible which is the true Word of God is as relevant today as it was when they were first spoken and written down.

1 Corinthians 6:9–10
9 Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, 10 nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God.

Know this, there is hope.
We can repent of our sinful rebellious ways and begin new.
Jesus is very forgiving and if we turn away from our sinful ways and turn to Jesus and accept Him whole heartedly as our Lord and Savior, He will forgive us and accept us. Of that, there is no doubt.

1 John 1:9
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness

Hebrews 8:12
For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more.

Just as God's teachings are valid today as it was when He first gave them to us, He is also not a hypocrite. God does not have one set of rules for one and another set of rules for someone else. His teachings are for all people.
His teachings and laws are the same for me as they are for you.

Read the Bible and pray for an open and accepting mind and heart. He loves you and wants what is best for you.
