Protecting Your Home By The Banishing Of Negative Energies and Spirits

There are times in our lives when we will encounter negative spirits or energy within our home. These encounters can become evident in existing places of residence for various reasons, or they may be found when we move into a new home. The use of magic, spells and rituals can be the solution that is needed to dispose of such energies and spirits.

Negative spirits will be the cause for bad luck, sickness and even accidents that will result in injuries. Some of these spirits could possibly be human spirits or ghosts.

One does not need to practice magic to know that there is some negative influence on one's home. You can simply "feel" it.

Learning to rid your living environment of these negative spirits or energy is something that is handy to have in your Book of Shadows.

A proper Banishing Ritual will help one banish such energies and spirits from your dwelling. The same type of ritual can be used should you be called upon to rid another's home of the same.

Banishing Ritual: To dispel negative energy or spirits from your home

You Will Need:

  • 1 white candle.
  • 1 bowl of water and salt (mixed together).
  • Incense (preferably sage, but whatever you have works).

First, cast a circle. (Have all the tools you will be using with you). Then sit in the center, with the white candle placed in front of you, so you face it.

Say:

"I come into this circle, this sanctuary, with faith and love.

Goddess, goddess of life, of death and of rebirth,

Hear my prayer. Help me now to dispel this creature of unholiness. This creature of darkness who haunts me now. Mercy have him if be your will, but take him from this space. So mote it be. "

Then:

Stand up and hold the bowl of water and salt. Face the east. Dip your fingers into it and splash a few drops to the east quarter.

Say:

"Powers of the east.

Powers of the day star rising.

And all fresh beginnings.

I purify you with water and salt.

For good vibrations of warmth, love and friendship."

Turn to the south, sprinkling some water and say:

"Powers of the south.

Powers of the summer sun.

Which warms our bodies and minds.

I purify you with water and salt.

For good vibrations of warmth, love and friendship."

Repeat in the west:

"Powers of the west.

Powers of the purifying and cleansing waters.

From which all life comes.

I purify you with water and salt.

For good vibrations of warmth, love and friendship."

Repeat in the north:

"Powers of the north.

Powers of the earth.

The ground on which we stand.

I purify you with water and salt.

For good vibrations of warmth, love and friendship."

Then, opening a doorway in your circle, but not breaking it, proceed around the room, to each doorway, corner, and window, sprinkling drops of water. As you do this, say:

"I purify this space with salt and water.

For good vibrations of warmth, love and friendship.

To dispel all and any negative energies."

Now, go back to your circle and take the candle up. Pass it in front of all mirrors in your home. saying:

"I purify this passageway to the other side with the powers of this single flame. And I consecrate this space to the God and Goddess, for the good of all. I dispel and banish all negative energies."

Now, go back to the circle, with the bowl and candle.

Say:

"Health lives here,

Love lives here,

Peace and abundance lives here,

I, ( your name) lives here,

(loved one's names) lives here,

And we claim this space for ourselves,

For the mutual good.

In keeping with the universal harmonies,

Of the God and Goddess,

This space is divinely protected,

for my loved ones and myself,

and for the work of positive magic.

All negative energies, beings and spirits are by now banished and dispelled. So mote it be!"

You can do a chant to finish the ritual off, or meditate for a few minutes. During the ritual, have incense burning, in all the rooms in your home. Let the candle burn out completely, before either burying it in your backyard or throwing it away (in a bin outside of your house).

Blessed Be and Good Luck!

Author's note: As with any magical workings, spell or ritual, remember to dismiss the elements, directions or Guardians should you invoke any of them. You always want to be sure to release them and their power from the area you have been doing your magical work in. The failure to do so can create some very unpleasant scenarios at times.

When I perform cleansing of a place, I use the powerful protection prayer of the 23rd Psalm. Since many Christians do not realize the power of the circle (Jesus Christ ministry covered a circle), I have people come together in a circle, holding hands. I've also advised others to keep an open Bible in the home. I call upon the Light from God, and this seems to stop troubles in the home.

Nevertheless, I judge not because I will be judged.

Thank you for sharing.

Since the forces that seize us with negative energies are immense, our resources must likewise be huge.

I tried the ritual to no avail. My brother-in-law still stops by.

Hello Nell. I certainly understand the negative energy from construction strangers. One place that I work at has been a mess for going on two weeks. New construction and the installation of a central air/heat unit with huge dehumidifier built in. I, also, have just finished, hopefully, almost a three week bout with some virus or flu.

I certainly think you will benefit from doing this as you mention. I will also be doing some extensive work there at our facility once construction is done. Then we go into the next construction phase..two stories, five times as large with living quarters upstairs...Now that will take some serious cleansing!

Hello OldWitchcraft. Thanks for the wonderful and uplifting comment about the Banishing ritual. :) I am familiar with Dion Fortune's that you speak of. As with any ritual that I share, it is open to be tweaked to the person who may choose to use it. I provide a guideline or outline to give a person a "sample." I don't doubt that any type of banishing ritual will work. All ritual and magic is based on the intent of the one performing it. Personally, I have used tobacco and cornmeal as well in the past as taught to me by Chief Two Trees.

This is a very nice ritual!

It's important to do this from time to time - especially when you sense anything negative. The salt and water purification part is wonderful, too.

Whenever I've felt seriously out of sorts, I've used Dion Fortune's salt and water blessing from Psychic Self-defense as a personal cleansing. I'm sure you know the one, if you've ever read her book - it's a little Catholic-esque seeming, but it can really work wonders.

Accolades!

Hello Angela. Thanks for the kind words. :) You know that I am one that is open, respecting all paths, and I continually learn from all paths. So what you share is most true! :)

Thanks for taking the time to stop by, read and comment.

Dale -- again, you are a teacher. It's my belief that no matter what one's beliefs are we can all learn from one another through mutual interest and respect. Excellent Hub. Best/Sis
