The Bible

I have friends that accept me beyond my beliefs of The Bible as the Word of God. They accept me even when they do not follow the real religion. I have some that have given me their backs for my beliefs. I was one of those who did neither trust, nor believe in any of mankind's religions.

When Christ gave up His ghost (Matthew 27: 50) to God many things occurred; one of them is found in Mark 15: 38 "And the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom". I understand that this means that we have direct relation with God and Christ as mediator (1 Timothy 2:5).

I am now, by my own personal experiences, one of those who is trying to follow the real religion which is found and not found in any mankind's religions if they are based on some of the following guidelines found in The Bible… God’s Word for us to know His will.

Where is the temple that we should worship God?

True religion is to take care of widows and orphans. Keeping unblemished from the world. Christ is the end of the Law. If Christ is Lord of your life and you have surrenderd to Him. You are now a new creation. Church is the body of Christ. If you are not part of a body of Bible believers. You are not in Christ.

Thaquisis on October 28, 2019:

If you are claiming christianity and church as the real religion, I totally disagree. The bible is one heck of a great story, truly one of the best and most read works of fiction.

ALIM GARBA on July 07, 2019:

I think that whatever you take as religion it is a mankind's religion as it will be called someone's way of worshipping. The matter about religion is the matter of time and responding some questions about who is being worshipped and reading scriptures to see which of them is close to rational thinking. Religion can be right but the way people are practicing it differ from one to other according to everyone's behavior.

Geoffrey on July 03, 2019:

Its all about God ,, not the mediators from the religions ,

Elinha on June 13, 2019:

Don't base your religion in fear base it in love.

Greg Boudonck from Returned to an Isla Del Sol - Puerto Rico Will Rise Strong on September 15, 2018:

Nessa, because the truth will always draw those who want the truth to it.

Confused but I have always since a young child been pulled from within to Jesus and Bible...why??

Mike Dixon on June 01, 2018:

Buddhist don't pray to a God we believe in humanity's ability do demonstrate lice and compassion I am not saying there is no God or gods if there is they have a funny sense of humour allowing all this suffering in our world the first noble truth taught by a human not a God is life is suffering it's hard we are born we live we get old we become sick then we die

Karma is your actions we know if we have done wrong praying to a God you have never seen is that logical? Maybe we should ask forgiveness from the person we have hurt!!!

Terry Sear on March 11, 2017:

Great job! No religion, just Jesus. Your posted.

Ok, WiccanSage thanks to you. I really share what I know it is true. I do not really agree or disagree for the Truth. I was a religious follower of God, but today I can repeat Job 42:5 "I have heard of You by the hearing of the ear; But now my eye sees You;"

I am happy you found your path. Be well and blessed.

Mackenzie Sage Wright on September 12, 2013:

Thanks for your response, Lastheart. I'm afraid we'll just have to disagree. The Bible is a religious document that outlines a set of practices and beliefs, which makes following the Bible a religion by definition, and people who follow it religious by definition. I was a Christian for over 20 yrs until I found my true path, (I studied it pretty intently, not just content but in a historical/sociological context, including the Jewish roots of it) so it's not like I'm unfamiliar with your beliefs or the source of those beliefs. I just don't see how anyone can follow scripture and think they are not religious. That sounds to me like someone who has a full time home based business arguing that it means they are unemployed because they don't belong to a corporation.

Maria Magdalena Ruiz O'Farrill (author) from Borikén the great land of the valiant and noble Lord on September 12, 2013:

WiccanSage thanks for stopping by. I do not take offense. My love for our Creator, Lord and Savior is based in my personal experience. He is real and not made by men, because He created everything. A religion is made by men. No, I am not religious that is why I share Him and not a religion. I just hope and pray others will give Him the opportunity to know who He really is before their time ends. Walking by His word is being free.

Mackenzie Sage Wright on September 11, 2013:

I guess the thing that confuses me the most is that you say you don't have a religion, yet you clearly follow the religion of Christianity (Religion = set of beliefs and practices; if you believe in religious doctrine like saviors, and scripture like the Bible, you are following a religion-- you're just non-denominational and don't belong to a specific church, but many people don't belong to a church/organization but still follow religion). And Christianity is one of mankind's religions. They're all (from A to Z) real ways, invented by men, to explain and to reach out to/connect with something they see as greater than themselves.

Personally, I don't think spirituality is one size fits all-- what speaks to one person may not speak to another; but that second person can find the same thing elsewhere. You have to find the method/connection that works for you. I respect you've found your connection and that it works for you-- I'm not sure how it's exempt from being religion when it's based on the world's largest religion, or how it's been proven here as any more 'true' or 'real' than any other.

No offense meant, I'm trying to understand but some of your earlier ideas seem to contradict each other, which is perhaps confusing me on the rest of your points.

rasta1 thanks, your return has warm my heart because I have very lovely friends from Internet actually I met my dear husband via Internet, and you are very special. I will not hide that the word " biased " worried me in a way. But you know what? It is again just like you wrote, I am also very biased. My personal experience with God has made me limited to one side...His side only. I really hope nobody takes offense with this article. It was to help those who are seeking the real religion which is found inside each of us and not in an earthly leader or rituals. The real love comes from God and He is the root of everything else.

Marvin Parke from Jamaica on January 29, 2013:

Do not worry about it. I love this hub. I love CHRIST. I am very biased about my beliefs too.

Maria Magdalena Ruiz O'Farrill (author) from Borikén the great land of the valiant and noble Lord on January 29, 2013:

rasta1 thanks for reading and commenting. I do not think I am being unfair. What I wrote here is the truth I know from God's word. Just like you say no matter your spiritual orientation you have to stick to love.

Marvin Parke from Jamaica on January 27, 2013:

Thanks for being biased. You have to stick to love, no matter your spiritual orientation.

Following God's word and having faith in the fact that we were created and saved by Him does not make it a religion. Following Christ sets us free. I will always quote the Bible because I leave to each reader whatever their approach with God will teach them. God is who gives wisdom. Being a Christian is an individual experience. There are groups that will congregate to learn and share about their experiences. Our guidances comes from God and not based on religious structures. Ephesians 2: 8 says: "For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God;" Romans 11:6 "And if by grace, then it is no longer by works; if it were, grace would no longer be grace."

Ericdierker thanks for reading and your contribution.

Oops I missed that concept. The Bible is beautiful evidence of what I believe.

just-jubiki from La Mesa, California on January 18, 2013:

You should have written your article differently. It served only to argue your own religion, rather than taking an unbiased approach. It did not offer any evidence that Christianity is the 'real religion,' but quoted the bible as evidence, which it is not.

Eric Dierker from Spring Valley, CA. U.S.A. on January 18, 2013:

Very cool approach. Is it possible we each have our own "religion" in our head?
