The Real Religion Part III

Sometimes a theme rises into my thoughts, then it just will not leave my mind. Every conversation will go around it. When I go to bed it will be my last recorded thought and when I wake up it keeps developing. It just burns me until it makes me write it down.

I am not religious, I believe in Our Creator, trust that Jesus is Our Savior and have the Bible as God's word to live by. This hub is a succession of two other corresponding to the theme "The Real Religion".I was thinking about the last supper and as I went over details...I asked myself who am I in Jesus' Body? Have you ever thought about it?

Lessons from Jesus

It is very interesting the way Jesus gave His lessons and sermons. He used parables or simple examples to make a deep fact be understood. Before the last supper in John 13: 3 - 5 we see Jesus demonstrating that words without acts are empty: Jesus knew that the Father had given him authority over everything and that he had come from God and would return to God.So he got up from the table, took off his robe, wrapped a towel around his waist "and poured water into a basin. Then he began to wash the disciples’ feet, drying them with the towel he had around him."

In remembrance of Me.

Luke 22:19 has a wonderful mystery when it becomes a reality: "And when He had taken some bread and given thanks, He broke it and gave it to them, saying, "This is My body which is given for you; do this in remembrance of Me."

And in the same way He took the cup after they had eaten, saying, “This cup which is poured out for you is the new covenant in My blood. (Luke 22: 20).

As I reviewed the personalities discovered around the table, I have been projecting myself as Jesus said: this in remembrance of Me..

  1. Giver - The apostles gathered around Jesus and reported to him all they had done and taught. (Mark 6: 30).
  2. Betrayer - And Satan entered into Judas who was called Iscariot, belonging to the number of the twelve. (Luke 22: 3).
  3. Loved - The disciple Jesus loved was sitting next to Jesus at the table. (John 13:23)
  4. Greatest - ...the one who is the greatest among you must become like the youngest, and the leader like the servant. (Luke 22: 26)
  5. Denier - And He said, “I say to you, Peter, the rooster will not crow today until you have denied three times that you know Me.” (Luke 22: 34).

Part of God's body

1 Corinthians 3:16 says: Don't you know that you yourselves are God's temple and that God's Spirit dwells in your midst? These words are not just a few letters combined into words then into a question...again I say it is a Divine mystery when it becomes true in us.

Jesus died but resurrected. He is alive! Will come into us by the Holy Spirit, if we let Him do so. It is a personal relation that will give you strength and the wisdom to overcome earthly struggles. It is a relation that beyond whatever circumstance, peace and love will govern your thoughts and acts.

John 14:6: Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

I know who I am and who I am trying to get to be. Do you? Analyze yourself and find out, if it is that you still haven't. Knowing who we are defines us, dignifies us and gives us direction. Feelings of being lost, alone, or insecure will not be part of our existence for a long period of time. Life is worthy and believing, accepting and living in God is the way for existence.

Blessings to all!

Ericdierker thanks! Yes, it release me of not staying with a good thought, for me. Sharing is the way to keep flowing the good we get from everything around us, even when it seems bad or horrible.

Eric Dierker from Spring Valley, CA. U.S.A. on April 24, 2013:

Well written, I hope that by your first paragraph you don't mean that the wonderful thoughts leave you when you write them down, but that it just releases you. This was a nice read to start a nice day.
