Somebody Please Help Me Feel God's Love
The International Evangelist was sent by God to live and minister throughout the Philippines. He had to develop a new way to deliver his message because although most of the Philippine people could understand and speak English, they would have a problem understanding preachers that presented their messages in a loud emotional way.
The Evangelist was scheduled to minister in a church service that was soon approaching and had prayerfully written a message on The Majestic Love of God. While visiting a local bookstore located in a mall near where he and his wife lived, the evangelist from America along with his beautiful Filipino wife we call Tin Tin, were introduced to a nineteen year old Filipino boy that had recently lost his father. His father had lost his life while visiting in another country. The young lonely confused teen is now stranded in the Philippines and unable to speak tag log which is the local Filipino language.
Feeling heartbroken and all alone, the young boy sought refuge by visiting the Christian bookstore nearby where he was staying with a relative. He made friends with the store manager which gave him permission to browse and read through his choice of books that were on display in the store. He would look for books that spoke about understanding the love of God because in his heart and confused state of mind, he needed answers to many questions that left him wondering if God is real and if so, does he really love me?
Thank God for the kind hearted store manager, who is a woman after God's own heart, for demonstrating the Love of Christ to a frightened boy sadly missing the love of his earthly father. After a couple of days witnessing and ministering to this troubled young boy, the Evangelist, his wife, and the store manager were able to lead this nineteen year old confused boy to Christ; the very Essence of God's Amazing Majestic Love.
1. God's Love Is A Proven Love
Dear reader, we can break the love of God down into seven categories and still not give it justice! Beloved, we can rejoice in the fact that we have the blessing of an unconditional love that has been tested by being thrown into a den of lions and what about the three Hebrew children being thrown into a blazing furnace afterward coming out unscathed and not even the smell of smoke on their clothes.
Yes beloved, God’s unconditional majestic Love has been tested and passed the test! Beloved, history has provided us a glimpse of some great men and women of faith that have braved the storms of life leaving legacies, writing touching stories, including many inspirational songs that define God's love as his amazing grace.
Dear reader, the love of God is a proven love because it is not merely demonstrated to us by carefully chosen words but was proved by the sacrificial death of Christ on the cross and we can be certain that God loves us, especially when we see how He sent His only begotten Son to the cross to die for us. Beloved, let us strive to prove our love for Christ by presenting our bodies as a living sacrifice to his cause and purpose.
John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in him Should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.
I John 4:9 This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only begotten Son into the world to pay our sin debt and make away that we might live through him.
Romans 5: 8 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
2. God's Love Is Pure
Dear reader we can find rest in our soul when we discover that God’s Love is a Pure Love that is unmatched by anything present or anything in the future we may encounter. Beloved reader, the Love of God is a pure love that has no hidden ulterior motives and never changes. dear reader, the Lord has shown His pure love to us by making a way for us to become children of his royal family, calling us heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ.
Beloved, the world is filled with love that has hidden strings and motives, but the love of God is pure and unselfish because God loves us with a pure unconditional love that holds no boundaries including the color of our skin. Beloved, God loves us to bless us and he desires for us to have the same pure love that we have for Him to be extended toward others we may meet.
Dear reader, the scriptures state that we know we have passed from death unto life because we love the brethren. People know and can tell if you truly love them. Love is an action word and it is one of the foundational stones that must be in place for the gifts of the spirit to operate in our life and ministry.
1 John 3:1 How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him.
Romans 8:16 The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.
3. The Love of God Is A Perfect Love
Dear reader, the Love of God is a perfect love that is not to be compared to the imperfect human love we find in the world. Beloved, it would be fruitless for us to search for perfect love in any type of human relationship because there will always be flaws and disappointments in human love.
Saints, the only place that we can find perfect love, is in the Love of God because it is only in God’s love that the perfections of Love can be appreciated and experienced which is exemplified through the finished work of the Lord Jesus Christ.
I John 2:5 But if anyone obeys his word, God’s love is truly made complete in him. This is how we know we are in him:
I John 4:12 No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us, and his love is made complete in us.
I John 4:8 Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.
1 John 4:18 There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear because fear has to do with punishment. dear reader, the person that walks in fear, is not made perfect in love.
4. The Love of God Is A Powerful Love
Dear reader, the more storms and experiences we brave in life, the more we will accept and discover that God's matchless love is not a weak love that can easily be diminished. Beloved reader, the holy scriptures state that the Lord has redeemed us with His precious blood, and we are extremely precious and valuable in His sight. They also boldly declare that He will never allow anyone or anything snatch us out of His hand.
Beloved reader, the value of One Human Soul in the eyes of God, is greater than that of the entire world and the love of God is an everlasting love which is willing to make any sacrifice that is needed for us because like Christ, we were chosen in him before the foundation of the world. The Apostle Paul himself was sure that nothing or anything present or things to come could separate us from the love of Christ.
1Peter1:18-19 For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your forefathers, but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect.
Romans8:35-39 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship, persecution, famine, nakedness, danger, or sword? As it is written: "For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered." Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
5. God's Love Is A Protective Love
Dear reader, God’s Love is a protective love because it protects us from harm and danger both seen and unseen. Beloved, did you know that God’s love protects us from our own self-destructive ways by rebuking and chastening us when we go astray.
Psalms 46: 1 the Lord is our refuge and strength, an ever present help in the day of trouble.
Revelation 3:19 Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline. So be earnest, and repent.
Hebrews 12:6 Because the Lord disciplines those he loves, and he punishes everyone he accepts as a son."
Psalm 91:14-16 "Because he loves me," says the LORD, "I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. He will call upon me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. With long life will I satisfy him and show him my salvation."
6. God's Love Is Patient and Kind
Dear reader, the more you live through the uncertainties that life may send your way, the more you will discover that the matchless never changing love of God is patient and kind. Beloved, we can feel secure in his love by knowing that it does not destroy us because of our imperfections or when we mess up.
Beloved, the more we mature in the things of God, the more we will discover that our God is longsuffering and slow to anger, not willing that anyone would perish. Psalms 103 states that he remembers our frame and that we are but dust made from the Earth. Beloved, God's great love towards us, his greatest creation is an everlasting unchanging love that reaches to the highest heaven and descends to the lowest hell.
Beloved, God patiently waits for us to be conformed in His likeness by his Spirit into the image of his dear Son and may we ever be grateful for his matchless grace, mercy, and kind patient love towards us. May we ever be thankful for his redeeming love that made a way for us to be adopted in his family as Sons and Daughters in his kingdom.
In closing we find some consolation in knowing that God has our names engraved on the palms of his hands. We are a purchased possession that Christ purchased with his own blood.
1 Peter 1:18 Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot: 20 Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you, 21 Who by him do believe in God, that raised him up from the dead, and gave him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God. 22 Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently: 23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.
2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.
I Corinthians 13: 4-7 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, and always perseveres.
1 Timothy 2:3-4 This is good, and pleases God our Savior,
who wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.
7. God's Love Is A Providing Love
Dear reader, we have come to the last attribute concerning the Love of God. Beloved, I now state with excitement in knowing through my years of experience in writing books and ministering the gospel while driving my eighteen wheeler including recently ending a forty three year work history with over three million safe miles throughout the USA and Canada, that God’s Love is a Providing love because it meets our need where we are. Beloved, God’s loving provision is not only for this world but for all eternity and beloved, his love provides for our needs while we live in this world.
Dear reader, God’s unconditional providing Love has prepared great blessings and treasures for us to enjoy throughout all eternity. Saints, we are never alone, for his love is an oasis of indwelling love, you might say an enduring love; oh yes, it is an enduring love for we find in the holy scriptures that he said "my father and I will dwell in you." We can rest in reading where our Lord stated that "I’ll never leave you or forsake you but will be with you till the end of the world!"
Romans 8: 32 He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all how will he not also, along with him, graciously or freely give us all things?
Matthew 7: 7-11 "Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened. "Which of you, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!
Dear reader as we close this study, we can rejoice in knowing that we have a high priest that can be touched with the feeling of our infirmities because he knows what it is like to dwell in human flesh and face life’s trials. Beloved the scriptures state that "thou will make my soul an offering for sin" and in another place they state that "God was in Christ reconciling the world back unto himself."
Beloved, Christ our Lord was once a man with a human soul and spirit like us for he was the other Adam that God raised up and made both Lord and Christ. Dear reader, if Christ Jesus was anything that Adam lacked, he could not be qualified to become the spotless supreme sacrifice that was needed to make the way for sinful man to get back in fellowship with a perfect Holy God.
Beloved, God left him on the cross therefore when he committed his spirit into God's hands, beloved he was committing his human spirit and we can find rest in knowing he loves us that much to give his all for us.. Beloved, Christ took on our sinful nature after living a life without sin, that one day we can bear his heavenly image .
Beloved, the sinless lamb of God did not come into this world to start another religion but he came that he might became sin in our place making away for sinful man to be brought back into fellowship with a Holy God of grace, love and mercy.
Beloved, like a space ship left hopeless and stranded in space because of losing its guidance system and radio contact with Earth, Jesus came into this world not to start another religion which is man reaching to God, but he came to pay the sin debt which would pave the way for sinful man to be redeemed and be accepted back in fellowship with our creator. Now that dear reader is a clear revelation and demonstration of the awesome amazing providing love of almighty God.
Dear reader as we close this study, let us be reminded that during the law and the days of Jesus, the little innocent lamb that was raised as a family pet, would give its life for the Shepard but thank God through his matchless providing love, provision was made for the Shepard to give his life once and for all as the required supreme sacrifice for his sheep.
