The Gospel is Preached to Those Who Have Died

Do you know you are a child of God? We are each journeying home. Obedience, and love of God, and faith in Christ determine our destiny.

Wondrous news was confirmed in 1918. The Bible had foretold it.

On October 3, 1918, elderly Joseph F. Smith, a nephew of Joseph Smith, did receive a vision regarding part of the Savior's work during the time that His body was in the tomb. Joseph F. Smith saw and understood that the Savior organized 'his forces and messengers' in the Spirit World, clothed them with 'power and authority' and commissioned them to go forth and preach the gospel to the 'dead', those spirits who had come from mortality, some evil, some good. The gospel is offered lovingly to all people beyond the veil who are willing to listen.

This work is on-going. It is real. Every person who has lived on earth is allowed to hear the gospel of Christ and decide for oneself if they want to repent and follow Him.

A record of this detailed vision is recorded in the Doctrine and Covenants (book) of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Section 138. I invite all people to go to lds.org, look at the tabs at the top and choose the title Libraries -- then choose the title or tab of Scriptures -- then Doctrine and Covenants and finally, scroll to chapter 138.

This is a reverent subject. I know of the reality of the work being carried out there amongst my ancestors. I also invite any of you reading this to have a look at Family Search at familysearch.org. Whether you are a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints -- or not -- you are welcome to join this platform for free, no charge ever. The church has the biggest collection of genealogical materials in the world and shares them for free, always.

I am placing a link below to a You Tube recent video, ten minutes long, telling the details of how and when Joseph F. Smith received this revelation that became Section 138 of The Doctrine and Covenants. There is also some re-enactment segments in the short video.

As my Dutch ancestors would likely say, I say to you with love: Bedankt en tot ziens voor nu.
