Rest In A Restless World
Would you agree with me that we are living in a restless world?
At home, work, or anywhere, we are not just in a busy world but a restless world.
All of us carry different burdens, problems, trials, stress, troubles, and anxiety. These things make us restless, don’t they?
The bible is clear that we will go through trials and face troubles as long as we’re in this world. Now, my question is, are you tired?
Are you tired of fighting?
Are you tired of worrying?
Are you tired of loving the unloving?
Are you tired of understanding?
Are you tired of this life?
If yes, keep on reading because this is for you. I would like you to know that you can rest in this restless world. Someone I know is sending you an invitation to take a rest. He says, ”Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”
He did not say, “Do nothing and rest” or ”Go somewhere else to find rest.” He is personally inviting you to come to Him. Jesus is offering himself as the solution to your burdens. He assures you that you will find rest and ease in His presence. As you carry your loads, you can always run to God and cast your anxiety on Him. He will give you the peace you need even in the midst of storms.
One of the things that I like about traveling is that I can escape all the heaviness, expectations, responsibilities, and tasks I'm bearing. However, when I go back to reality, I’m still in the same chaos. This made me realize that I am not really resting; I am just escaping. This is the reality. When we are tired of everything, instead of resting, we are just escaping the chaos for a while.
Quiet your soul and listen to the still, small voice of God. He is offering the real rest that we need. Even if everything is a mess in this restless world, we can rest by being STILL IN THE PRESENCE OF GOD.
Imagine standing in the midst of a tornado but not moving. If you are anchored in stillness, you will not be easily swayed by debris and chaos flying around you. This picture shows that you could be in the storm but not part of the storm.
Tap yourself in the chest and say, ”find rest in God, my soul.”
This is the key for you to experience rest right in the middle of the chaos. God cares for everything about us. He will undoubtedly comfort us in times of need. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Like a child who feels distressed, we can lay in His chest and cry. All we need to do is to draw near to Him. We will never be well until we become desperate for His presence.
Isn't it amazing that we are blessed beyond the scene?
God is inviting you right now. “Come to me, you who feel weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”
Will you come to Him on your knees and rest in this restless world?

Nicely done. A good message.
