As we sat down to write this article, we have had a little difficulty getting started. Our other Ravi Zacharias articles covered a lot of ground and said what needed to be said. However, in the past couple of weeks, 2 more people have resigned and someone has started a class-action lawsuit against the ministry.

In the resignation article we read the following words:

“lamenting, listening, and learning”

We wonder who they were lamenting, who they were listening to, and what they were learning. But if it is like all the others who have abandoned the RZIM ship and left the late Mr. Ravi Zacharias alone, then they have been listening to the wrong people.

We doubt they were listening to God.

In being involved in this issue through defending Mr. Zacharias we have seen a lot and most of it has been Christians distancing themselves from the man and not doing one Christian act on his behalf.

What we have seen

We have seen a lot of #MeToo ideology being accepted by those believers, his own organization, and even his own daughter. We have heard the many non-biblical terms used by the same people.

Rarely, have we seen any act like Jesus taught when they participated in their portion of this problem. What we have seen is a general condemnation of the man with different Christian leaders using terms like

“Criminal, sociopathic, satanic”

Those are harsh words for people to use and who have not taken the time to apply biblical instructions to the final report and the issue as a whole. many people have taken to YouTube to try to explain this issue and almost everyone that we viewed automatically concluded that Mr. Zacharias was guilty.

They then preceded to destroy the man, his message, and his legacy forgetting that God used him for 40 years in a powerful way. Those who licensed and ordained him did not speak out against him or sought to expose his sinful behavior.

In fact, the denomination that did that exonerated him in their own investigation. That is until the overwhelming tide of public opinion decided that the final report, written by non-Christians, was correct and the Bible was wrong.

We have seen a lot taking place in this issue but there has also been a lot we have not seen, especially on the biblical side of the issue.

What we have not seen

#1. Forgiveness- this has been absent and no one has sent out a call for the alleged victims to forgive Mr. Zacharias. Instead, money is being thrown at the people to help ease their pain.

God has said very clearly- “But if you do not forgive other people, then your Father will not forgive your offenses.” Yet, we do not see any articles written about forgiven this man who cannot defend himself.

It is hard for Mr. Zacharias to ask forgiveness since he is no longer with us and it is not really proven that he did anything wrong. His son and wife have presented a lot of credible evidence to support the latter part of that statement.

Jesus said, “21 Then Peter came up and said to Him, “Lord, how many times shall my brother sin against me and I still forgive him? Up to seven times?” 22 Jesus *said to him, “I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy-seven times” Mat. 18.

We have not seen one time yet so far.

#2. Love- most people that we have read have leaped aboard the alleged victim’s side of the issue and have tried to ‘love’ them by railroading Mr. Zacharias and trying to change agreements and claiming that the victims are telling the truth even though not one alleged victim has presented any credible evidence any sin has been committed.

The Bible teaches us what love is: “4 Love is patient, love is kind, it is not jealous; love does not brag, it is not arrogant. 5 It does not act disgracefully, it does not seek its own benefit; it is not provoked, does not keep an account of a wrong suffered, 6 it does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; 7 it keeps every confidence, it believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.”

We put the keywords in bold. We have not seen this take place either in the direction of Mr. Zacharias. We have seen a lot of hatred, judgment, condemnation from people who are not without sin, yet they feel they can cast the first stone.

#3. Justice- The words of the most recent people resigning from RZIM say a lot.

“They explain they’ve stayed on since the news broke out of their concern for justice and the victims”

What that couple and other Christians do not realize is that justice is a two-way street. So far, the so-called justice dispensed by RZIM, its employees, and other people involved in this scandal who, for whatever reason they may have, has only been directed towards the alleged victims.

Justice is required to help offenders come to repentance and in this difficult situation for all to see the truth. Mr. Zacharias has received no justice but has been the victim of a kangaroo court and vigilantes ready to destroy the words God had given the man to speak to his creation.

Currently very few of them remain on YouTube as RZIM has removed all the ones that the organization placed up on that social media website. Any that remain come from other ministries.

What we have seen here can be summed up in the following verse: “Now hear this, you heads of the house of Jacob And rulers of the house of Israel, Who despise justice And twist everything that is straight,” Micah 3:8.

We have seen a lot of twisting of the so-called evidence to grant alleged victims some form of payment while robbing a dead man of the justice due him.

We have also seen the ignoring of this passage from Micah 6:8: “He has told you, mortal one, what is good; And what does the Lord require of you But to do justice, to love kindness, And to walk humbly with your God?”

Very few Christians have we seen have humbly walk with God as they jumped aboard the anti-Zacharias bandwagon and accepted sinful words against him as the truth while ignoring all of God’s words in the process.

No justice has been done in this issue.

#4. Truth- The only people we see speaking the truth, besides us, is Mr. Zacharias’ son and wife. There may be others defending him but we have not been contacted by them, except maybe one person who came to our website, theologyarchaeology, and asked us for some advice.

Most people we have seen talking about this issue have accepted lying words at face value and as gospel truth without applying any biblical criteria to vet those words to see if they are accurate, true, or approved by God.

That is hard to do when RZIM hired a secular law firm to conduct an investigation and then everyone accepts their version of the events as gospel truth. The Bible tells us:

“Now, therefore, fear the Lord and serve Him in sincerity and truth; and do away with the gods which your fathers served beyond the Euphrates River and in Egypt, and serve the Lord.”

Again we have put the keywords in bold. We have seen Christians in RZIM and elsewhere do the exact opposite as they ignore God’s teaching and gang up on a man who cannot defend himself any longer.

We do not go to the secular world to find the truth. They do not have it nor do they have the Spirit of Truth who knows where it lies and can guide you to it. No Christian should be taking the world of an unbeliever in issues like this one.

They are not qualified nor have the tools and guidance needed to shed any light on this type of situation. Only the true Christian does. Any Christian should be ashamed of themselves for not following God’s instructions in these delicate matters.

If you want the truth, you go to God to get it not those who are blind, deceived, and lost.

Some final words

What we have seen is a travesty. Not on the part of Mr. Zacharias but on the part of the majority of Christians we have read about in various articles and listened to in the many videos we have seen.

If anyone needs to repent, are all those Christians who have disobeyed God in this issue and followed the unbeliever to the wrong conclusion. Also, those who have vilified the man without truly examining the evidence with honesty and truth.

We do not believe Mr. Zacharias is guilty of any of the crimes heaped against him which means all the alleged victims need to repent of their sins, including Ms. Thompson.

What we have not seen is Christianity in action like Jesus taught.
