Staying Single with God's Word
Okay, I know what you all are probably thinking if you have read my bio. You're probably saying "Of course she's single she's only 17" or "She's too young to know anything about relationships." You and others may think that is true but being single is a choice and it is a choice that I have made. I don't plan on being single forever but I've come to the realization that there are billions of guys on this planet and I'm sure that I will be able to find one at some point in my life.
There are many reasons why I've chosen to be single. One is because I know that God has the perfect man for me and when he thinks that I am ready for him, he will send him to me. God has a plan for me and for everyone. Anyone dating the first cute girl or guy that they see, including me, usually is not in God's plan.
God stated in Thessalonians 5:11 "Therefore encourage one another and build each other up as you are already doing." To me that means that the man that I find should be someone that is encouraging me to be my best self and will build me up and not tear me down. Whatever guy I find should want the best for me and I him.
Peter 4:8 states "Above all, maintain constant love for one another, since love covers a multitude of sins." When God sends me a guy I want them to be right for me. I know that I probably won't end up marrying my first boyfriend but all the guys that I encounter will be in God's plan to get me to the perfect one for me. No matter who I end up with, God is going to make sure that that man and I have constant love for each other no matter what happens in our lives. God wouldn't send a man that doesn't love me unconditionally and if he did then that person would just be practice for when I meet a man that would love me the way I should be.
So all of this is getting to one of my favorite bible verses and the main reason that I am content with staying single. Proverbs 3:15 states "She is more precious than rubies; nothing you desire can compare with her." God is telling all females that you are the most precious things on this Earth and nothing that anyone can desire or think of can even come close to any woman. I repeat this verse to myself multiple times a day. When I am on social media and seeing people with their significant others, I tend to think "Why can't that be me?" A lot of times I will talk to my best friend or go to her house and she's always talking about her boyfriend or he is always there. I tell myself that I want a boyfriend and I will pray to anyone that will listen for one. I then remind myself of Proverbs 3:15 and remember that if God wanted me to have a man now, he would send me one.
Everything happens on God's time. Not mine or anyone else's, which can get a little difficult and annoying but "it might not come when you want it, but it's right on time." God sees that the boys and men that I have been surrounding myself with are not going to treat me with the mentality that I am "more precious then rubies". I know that not every man will treat me with that mentality, but those who don't will help me know how I should be treated by a man.
These are reasons why I am content on being single. I've realized that when you're least expecting it, a blessing will come your way. So if you are single, know that your blessing will come and to not try so hard. You don't have to chase after that one guy because there are billions more. For anyone in a relationship remember that your significant other should treat you like you "are more precious than rubies" and that you are one of or the most important and valuable person in their life. You should be a top priority for them and if you're not, then remember that God has a plan for you and that the person that you are currently with, could just be practice to get you ready for the future. If you are not treated like "you are more precious than rubies" then that person will most likely not be in your future.
