Matthew 25:42-43

. . . 42For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, 43 I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me. (Emphasis added – only verse 43)

Faith Behind Bars

Faith behind bars.

Another Ordinary Saturday?

Matthew 25:31-46, the scripture quoted above, is the scripture we adopted as our mission statement for a women’s prison ministry in which I served. I have always continued to choose to serve in ministries relating to this scripture.

This is my true account of when I served in a women’s prison ministry, and how the Lord showed up mightily on another ordinary Saturday! This would turn out to be anything but another ordinary Saturday.

Those serving in this ministry during the week would show the love of Christ to those women coming out of prison. They would love on them, and not judge them, nor inquire as to why they were in prison. They would pray with them before leaving the ministry. They were given a Promise Bible, in addition to all other sorts of necessities.

This ministry served only women who were coming out of prison with nothing but the clothes on their backs. A lot of the woman had no family support once they left prison. The women, did, however, have to complete a program through Aid to Inmate Mothers, where they would learn a skill to be able to function in society once leaving prison, and prior to coming to this ministry. The dates the women would come to the ministry would be scheduled through Aid to Inmate Mothers.

The women, through this ministry, would be provided with several outfits of gently-used clothing, shoes, purses, accessories, newly purchased under garments, hygiene baskets, a Promise Bible, and they even had very nice shopping bags. The women were provided with outfits for work, church and casual outings. When the women arrived at the ministry (I was told by those serving during the week), were just in awe and so touched that “all of this was for them?” They just could not believe it, as they stated they were honestly expecting just a place where there were bags of clothing, of what no one else wanted, just dumped on the floor, which they would have to dig through. Oh no, that was not the case.

The recidivism rate was very low for those women who actually came through this ministry.

I know the Lord needs “behind the scenes persons” to serve Him, but I did feel kind of left out after listening to the wonderful stories of those persons who served in the ministry during the week, when the women came through the ministry.

Scroll to Continue

This ministry was truly the Lord’s ministry, as we never, I mean never, had a shortage of donations. The best part is that the gently-used clothing that was donated, was not just clothing that someone had worn out and just wanted to throw away. The ministry was blessed beyond measure, as the ministry received the most beautiful clothing, some with tags still on them from the church family, as well as the community.

This ministry was a beautiful ministry of the Lord’s, no doubt. Never, during the whole time I served in that ministry, before we moved, about four years, did we ever get low on donations and have to ask for more. In fact, the ministry was blessed with an overflow, and so the volunteers on Saturday (when I served), could even pick and choose the best of the best for the ministry, and the rest that we did not have room for, but were still exceptional clothing, were donated to Hannah Home (for abused and battered women) in a drop box we had just outside the ministry.

I would have loved to shop there myself, as the gently-used clothing (as I stated before, some with tags still on them) was a lot better than what I actually wear. The volunteers had decorated a building on the church grounds just as if it were a boutique in New York City or something. The walls were painted with beautifully soft, relaxing colors, and the curtains were so delightful. Clothing racks, just like in the best of boutiques, were purchased from stores either moving or going out of business. There were outfits on display racks on the walls, all accessorized. There were jewelry displays. There was a separate room, just for shoes, and purses were displayed on shelves throughout the ministry. Another room was just for newly purchased under garments. There was even those little round plastic size dividers on each rack of clothing, making it easier for the women to go straight to their size.

Those serving in this ministry on Saturdays would put up the donations and get everything ready for the women coming to the ministry during the week. We would make up colorful hygiene baskets, wrapped in clear, but colored, cellophane with curling ribbons, which would contain everything one would need to get ready in the morning, i.e., toothpaste, toothbrush, deodorant, etc.

The wonderful director of the ministry, one day just happened to call me, as she knew I would be there on Saturday, and she knew I had always expressed to her a desire to be there when the women came through the ministry, but just could not, as I worked during the week. So, the director asked me if I would mind if a woman came to the ministry while I was there. Mind? No way, I was so excited that I could hardly stand it, as I know I would be blessed even more so by this woman coming through this ministry, and I would get to see firsthand how amazing His love is for this particular woman. As it turned out, I did not have clue what I would be a witness to on that “another ordinary Saturday."

The director told me the woman’s name was Sharman (we never knew their last names). I waited anticipating the arrival of Sharman, and then I heard a car pull up, and there she was. So, I enthusiastically opened the door with a big smile on my face and said, “Welcome to . . . Closet!"

Sharman brought her mother, sister, and 11 year old son with her. The very first words out of Sharman’s mouth were, “Do ya’ll have clothes for fat women?” I said, “We do have clothing for larger-sized women. Just follow me, “Sharmaine”. That is how I pronounced her name. She corrected me on the pronunciation of her name by saying, “No, it’s Charmin, you know, like the toilet paper.” And she laughed. “Oh, I am sorry”, I said, “That is a beautiful name.”

So, she followed me back to the rooms we had set up for the larger-sized clothing, and we had adjoined two rooms by carving out a beautiful arch in the wall to connect the rooms. We had taken down the doors to the long closets and had them lit up for easy access too, in addition to the clothing racks. We displayed the colorful hygiene baskets all over the ministry, which added punches of color here and there. There were also large beautiful mirrors and artwork.

Well, not for one second, did it even enter my mind that we may not have Sharman’s size. I saw Sharman go to the rack of dresses hanging in the closets and go to the largest size at the end of the rack. She wore a size 22 Women’s.

She had the most beautiful brown, shoulder-length, curly hair, and her eyes were just the most beautiful sparkling blue color.

I watched, so happily and clueless at that moment, as she looked through the dresses, with her back to me, and then, her arms and shoulders dropped to her side, as if in defeat!!! It was at that instance, I realized we may not have any clothing to fit her!!!

For about a second, I panicked, then I sent up a quick S.O.S. to the Lord, and prayed a really quick prayer, “Oh, sweet Lord, this is Your ministry, help me to bless this woman, please.” All the while, knowing there was no clothing that I could recall in her particular size, as I was the one who worked on Saturdays putting up the clothing. Sure, we had maybe a couple in sizes 1X, 2X, etc., but not any size 22’s!!!

Once I said, “In Jesus’ name,” all of a sudden my right arm just reached out to the right and my hand grabbed an outfit off a big round rack of suits. I did not even have time to turn my head, and I was thinking in my mind, “Why is my arm reaching out like that?” Then, my hand raised the suit right up to my face, in front of my eyes, and guess what my eyes saw, yes, size 22!!! I was stunned, and this was no ordinary run-of-mill suit, as it was such a gorgeous blue designer suit, with the tags still on it (several hundred dollars)! What, where had this outfit come from, I questioned for a moment, then I knew, the Lord had sent an angel just that quick to guide me, and He, the Lord, multiplied the size 22 clothing, as there were not any that I knew of, or even saw prior to this happening!

I quickly told Sharman, look, try this one on, it is your size! We made the women try on the clothing before leaving in the dressing rooms; to ensure they not only fit, but to ensure that another would not miss out, if it did not fit one person, and may fit another.

Sharman tried on the gorgeous outfit, and she looked so beautiful in it, with her blue eyes illuminating while wearing the blue suit. Her son commented, “Mom, you look so beautiful!” This miracle went on for a while, as everything I happened to touch, or was lead to touch, was, guess what, size 22 ---slacks, skirts, tops, whatever, amazing! Every piece of clothing fit her perfectly and all were the very best clothing anyone could have wanted to wear. He is sweet like that, you know!!! He wanted her to have the very best, and that is what she received.

There was one double-breasted kelly-green and navy blue suit, that I showed her, and she said, “No, I have never been able to wear double-breasted jackets,” which she said was due to them not fitting correctly across her chest, as she was a 44DD. I replied (as I knew the Lord had produced this very outfit for her), “Well, why don’t you just try it on, as it is specifically a size 22, your size?” So, she did, and it wound up being her favorite outfit. We found beautiful shoes and handbags to match, with accessories, etc. And even the casual outfits were of the best quality. We found a pair of white, silk-lined Capri pants just in her size, once again. I saw her self-esteem just grow and grow after trying on each outfit. She asked if she could wear one of the casual outfits home and, of course, I told her she could.

She and her family commented that this was the most wonderful ministry that they have ever heard of, and expressed how grateful they all were for this ministry. Then it was time to get her under garments, and we had two new bras in her size. For obvious reasons, we purchased all the undergarments new. Then I gave her the Promise Bible, and I prayed with Sharman and her family before they left. They all wept and wept.

And that is my story of how the Lord once again “multiplied the fish” in a sense on just another ordinary Saturday. I thank my Lord Jesus for blessing me and for blessing Sharman and her family in this miraculous manner. I could not wait to tell my fellow volunteers, who volunteered during the week of how the Lord showed up mightily on that really not so ordinary Saturday to say the least. He is still in the miracle business. "I will remember the deeds of the Lord; Yes, I will remember your miracles of long ago. I will consider all your works and meditate on all your mighty deeds." Psalm 77:11-12

“So the last will be first, and the first will be last.” Matthew 20:16

Hooray! Wow, that sounds so interesting for sure. Thank you for sharing.

I'm sorry about all that you lost in that terrible fire and all the struggles you have been through, sweet friend.

I will certainly Google him.

Shannon Henry from Texas on February 21, 2016:

Convicted in the Womb - Carl Upchurch!! One of my friends still has the book. I would have lost it had I not given it away anyhow. All of my college books that I wanted to keep were destroyed in the fire along with all my other books, many of which I loved. Anyway, now if you're interested, you can google him with results to see his story.

Faith Reaper (author) from southern USA on February 21, 2016:

Oh, yes, through Christ, the old has passed away, and we can truly become new beautiful creations.

Thanks for trying on the book. Don't put too much effort into it.

Shannon Henry from Texas on February 21, 2016:

Google is not being so helpful. Apparently, it truly is not uncommon for people to change and to turn their life of crime into inspiration for others. And I cannot even really remember the guy's name. For some reason, I want to say Carl something and that he was from PA. But I could be wrong about that. I have asked a couple of friends that also took a few education classes from that professor. Maybe they will know.

Faith Reaper (author) from southern USA on February 21, 2016:

Oh, don't worry about it, for I am sure it will come to you. We can Google the subject maybe.

Shannon Henry from Texas on February 21, 2016:

It is interesting. And now it's driving me nuts that I can't remember the guy's name or the book title! I do remember that he has passed away at a fairly young age and that his death came after I read the book.

Faith Reaper (author) from southern USA on February 21, 2016:

Hi Shan, thank you reading. I truly believe a little bit of love shown goes a long way to heal and transform lives. Love is so powerful. That sounds like an interesting book. I always received a blessing serving the Lord in His wonderful ministry. Hugs

Shannon Henry from Texas on February 21, 2016:

I went back to your real love hub to leave a comment about a comment I left you. LOL Sounds silly, I know, but that's how I wound up here. I saw your reply to Martie.

This truly is a wonderful story. It reminds me of a book I read in college as an assignment for a class. I wish I could remember the title of it now. It was so inspirational, but I gave it away. In hindsight, probably to someone who never read it anyway. I'm certain she could not get past some foul language here and there. But it was told in an honest straight forward manner. A story of a man who grew up in an area plagued with gangs. He joined one and it led to a life of drugs, crime ,and ultimately jail. When he was released, he went back to the same lifestyle. .. because he went back to the same people. But, eventually a Quaker husband and wife too, him in and showed him the love of the Lord. They changed his life around and he was then able to teach others about the love of Christ. I am reminded of stories like that every time I hear someone proclaim people never change. People can and do, but that does not mean that they will. Our job is to love. If I recall the name of that book, I will let you know. I think you might enjoy it.

Morning Dear Bobby,

Oh, what a lovely visit from you this morning. If it weren't for Him loving me first, then I know I would not know how to love like He loves. Praise Him God be the glory!

Hi Dear Kim,

Aw, bless you, sweet friend. You are so kind and most generous in your commenting. I love it when the Lord God shows up mightily and, of course, I must share about it. I have seen it countless times. It is funny how He works things out when one is faithful to serve Him, as the one serving is blessed beyond measure just as those being served through His ministry.

I appreciate you sharing, pinning and all. You're the best!

Hugs and blessings always

I am sitting here and tears are falling down my cheeks. This is such a beautiful story and just another instance of how perfect your HP Name is: "Faith!" My dear friend, there are many who talk the talk, but so few who walk the walk. You dear lady, walk the walk and do so with such grace. Voted up, pinned, and shared all around so others may also get the opportunity to see what true Faith means. Thank You.

Hi RTalloni,

Thank you so much for reading. Yes, it truly was a blessing to serve in this particular ministry of the Lord's! And I know all who visited the ministry were blessed too. Wow, that is a powerful statement there about giving and loving from a heart of love for God and compassion for others rather than being force to give to a government program!!! It is indeed greater and more efficient and effective.

God bless you and I appreciate your wonderful comments to add much to the topic of this hub to His glory.

RTalloni on August 01, 2015:

Thank you for sharing some of the blessings of working with that ministry. Opportunities to reach out to others are endless and it is true that when people give from a heart of love for God and compassion for others rather than being forced to give to a government's programs, the giving is greater and used more effectively/efficiently.

Faith Reaper (author) from southern USA on August 01, 2015:

Aw, thank you so much, Dolores, for reading and leaving such a lovely comment here. Yes, that particular scripture there in Matthew is the one I am mindful of when searching of a ministry to serve the Lord, as He tells us exactly where He would have us to serve, at least in my mind. This ministry was certainly a ministry of the Lord's. He showed up mightily to His glory and His glory alone.

I think of Jesus and those He would hang out with, and I think we need to be mindful to not judge and love like Jesus.

God bless you

Hello poetryman!

I apologize for missing your comment here from seven weeks ago ...

You make a wise observation there for sure. Yes, sadly, it is when one hits rock bottom, that they then turn to God, but at least they turn to Him and He can redeem them and no doubt give them a new heart.

I appreciate the vote up.

Hugs and blessings to you and yours

poetryman6969 on June 07, 2015:

I believe that many if not most faith based programs can reduce recidivism. In some ways you are getting a person at their lowest point who has had everything stripped away--even the regularity and routine of prison. There could hardly be a better time for a faith based program to work.

Voted up.

Be blessed.

Hi Dear Ruby,

Oh, I am so humbled that sweet Jo would even think of me in her generous gold awards. I am so happy this particular hub was featured by Jo, as it is one of the first ones I published after joining HP over two years ago. Initially, it did not receive a lot of attention, but over time it is getting out.

Yes, this type of ministry I hold near and dear to my heart and I always received a blessing each time I served God through this ministry for His glory. I know the women who were able to come to this ministry were blessed too, and that is how God works these things out ... us thinking we will bless others and then we are blessed beyond measure in serving Him.

When He shows up mightily and a miracle happens, I just have no choice but to share about such miracle for His glory.

I am blessed by your most generous comment here, and for Jo highlighting this particular hub.

God bless you.

Hi MizBejabbers,

Oh, my, I remember reading your wonderful comment three weeks ago and know I responded, but did not realize it did not take until I just saw Ruby's comment here this day. Please forgive me!

I am so glad you stumbled upon this hub by accident. Wow, thank you so much for the awesome vote and I am pleased you found this article uplifting.

So true, unfortunately, many women get mixed up with the wrong boyfriend and then are easily taken along down the wrong path. Yes, I will pray with you, dear one, for that is certainly the case many times as well.

I truly enjoyed volunteering my time to His glory and His alone.

I appreciate you so much for taking the time to write such a meaningful comment here.

Bless you

Dear Theresa, this is such a beautiful story! I wouldn't have known about it until today when Jo honored you with a gold award. I would love to be involved with this type of service. I could feel your joy at helping women restart their life after prison. Thank you so much for sharing, your faith shines in this heartfelt story...

Doris James MizBejabbers from Beautiful South on November 06, 2014:

Dear Faith, I stumbled on to this story this morning by accident. I guess it was because I needed to read something uplifting, and our daily needs are met. How Awesome, and I even voted it so. I know we are not of the same faith, but I’ll take a miracle any day. There are many paths to tread, and Christ is at the center of them all. This is such a beautiful ministry and I will send it my thoughts and pray for it to continue. There are too many people, especially women, in prison today, and many are victims of circumstance and innocent of their convictions or plea bargains. Others took a wrong turn at the crossroads and need help returning to the path. I wish more states had this kind of program. Please pray with me that overzealous prosecutors may be stopped from their wrongdoing, too. You are a wonderful person to have volunteered your time for this mission.

Hi Paula (fpherj),

Thank you so much for reading and leaving such a lovely comment. It was truly a wonderful ministry in which to serve to bless others who most definitely needed kindness shown to them and in providing basic necessities to get back on their feet.

All of us mess up in this life at one point or another, and I know I am always blessed when another one extends a little mercy, kindness and love my way. These women paid for their mistakes and deserve a fresh start and to not be judged.

So glad to see you here reading, dear Rolly. Yes, the Lord tells us to feed those who are hungry, clothe those needing clothing, provide shelter to those who need shelter and visit those who are in prison, as if we were doing it unto Him. Thank you Faith Reaper for the work you do... as the Great Commission teaches we are to go fourth and you are doing so. Well done Good and Faith Servant are the words that come to mind after reading this...

Hi Blond Logic,

I am so grateful for Au fait sharing this one from two years ago and that you have found it and now shared it as well. What a lovely blessing you both are here on Hub Pages.

Oh, there are many prison ministries around, and I was so blessed to serve in this special one for women when we lived in the city. We moved to the country about six years ago and sadly, I found out a couple of years after we moved that, although the Lord provided all the materials for the ministry and then some ... no one wanted to serve Him in this wonderful ministry for just a couple of hours on a Saturday. I was saddened, but then I remembered as He tells us in His Word, there is a time and place for everything and that ministry served Him to His glory for those many years.

In His Love, Faith Reaper

Faith Reaper (author) from southern USA on June 12, 2014:

Hi Au fait,

Thank you so much for digging this one up. Yes, the Lord placed serving those as He describes in Matthew 25 and He opened my eyes for sure. I love writing true accounts of how the Lord shows up mightily when we cry out to Him. He is sweet like that, you know!

We are not to boast in anything that we have down, but only allow our light to so shine before men, so that He, our sweet Lord, will be glorified.

I appreciate you pinning this to your special board and sharing, more than you will ever know. When God calls us to serve Him, we must go. He truly wants those who are available. It certainly was a day and time I will always cherish and never forget His mighty works and I will share all about what He has done, always remembering.

God bless you. In His Love, Faith Reaper

Yes, we have been living up this way for almost six years now, and I just do not know what happened to the ministry unless there was no one to do the Saturday work to put up all the donations. We were never short on donations, but they might have gotten short on volunteers? A lot of people do not want to give up their weekends to serve, or even one Saturday afternoon, once a month or twice maybe is all, for just a couple of hours. But when some of the volunteers were not able to help on Saturday to get things ready for the week, I can see how things would not work out. I hope maybe it just moved somewhere else! I just happened to hear about that it was no longer there.

Thank you for always praying and please know I am always keeping you and your family in my prayers as well.

Yes, friendship is a special kind of love. I am glad God blessed me with a special HubPages friend like you. As I have stated before many times here, your smile just lights up my Hub space when pop in to comment.

God bless you too,

Faith Reaper

Oh, Faith, so sorry the ministry did not last, as you had said in your hub the funds just kept coming in! But it is good to know God is in charge.

I continue to pray for you and your family every day. I am so thankful for the friends made on Hub Pages, you being one of the best. God bless, Sparklea :)

Faith Reaper (author) from southern USA on April 14, 2014:

Hi Dear Sparklea,

Wow, I just changed out my profile highlighted hubs and then I saw your comment pop in! I thought I would highlight it for a bit, as it was one of the very first hubs I had written when I joined HubPages two years ago.

Of course, this was a ministry I was involved in and loved in the city in which we lived before we moved out of the city. I was saddened to find out after we had moved, the ministry did not last very long. It was such a wonderful ministry of the Lord and I know I received more of a blessing by serving others than they probably did by visiting the ministry.

Well, I had moved away before writing this hub, and so no photos, but I do not think it would have been allowed anyway. There were some newspaper articles about the ministry back when.

We had a wonderful Director over the ministry who was gifted in such to make everything so lovely for the women who were coming ... well really all of the lovely women serving were so gifted in many areas, especially showing the love of Christ to the women without judging them.

Oh, yes, I would have not known what to do if He did not show me or multiply those particular clothes! But those "s.o.s." crying out to the Lord for help, works! He truly does hear when we completely place our trust and faith in Him. I praise Him for steering me in that direction to serve Him there for His glory and His alone.

I do need to find another ministry such as that up this way. I have been praying and asking the Lord to show me what He would have me do for Him or where He would love for me to serve Him.

Thank you for always being such a kind and loving person and I love that your light continues to shine so brightly here and I just know everywhere you go.

God bless you too sweetie,

Faith Reaper

HI DEAR FRIEND FAITH...just passing through hub pages which I try to do every day...and spotted this hub and absolutely loved it! Voted up and awesome...what an extraordinary story, how the Lord multiplied and laid your hands on the correct garments...incredible! Your description of the way your ministry decorated the place, the colors, the baskets, how I would love to see pictures (which I am guessing you would not be allowed to take). God certainly hears prayers, and He certainly knows your heart and soul. I love the stories you share!

God bless you always, stay in touch, and I will too. Sparklea :)

Hi Jackie,

Thanks for the lovely comments.

Well, I am still working on aligning the capsules, as there are so many in that particular hub.

Oh, you're welcome, but I know you would have figured it out!

THANK YOU FOR SHARING THIS GEM among all the garbage on this site.

AND if you are a part of a "ministry" where this does not happen--- Stop wasting your time and find one where it is . This is how ALL ministry is supposed to work, but only true Godly ministry does.

Faith Reaper (author) from southern USA on January 05, 2013:

Oh God bless you dearest Oscarlites!

I am so humbled by your outpouring of your heart from the words the Lord has given you here this night in your oh so lovely comments to glorify our Lord God.

Wow, thank you so much dear. Thank you for sharing about your previous prison ministry too! God's grace is merciful no doubt. That is awesome about that man spending his weekends feeding the homeless in the streets. We are to be the hands of feet of Jesus.

The Holy Spirit convicted me a couple of years ago about doing just that after I saw a homeless man standing on the busiest downtown corner around the building in which I work. I have written about it too.

Yes, "the least of these," exactly . . . and I have seen the face of Jesus in the streets myself. When I serve the Lord, I love serving in the areas of which Jesus tells us in Matthew 25 (about the goats and the sheep). We are saved by grace and not by works, but when our hearts have been transformed into His likeness, we just have no choice but for our eyes to be open to see what He would have us to see and go where He would have us to go.

God bless you dear one. So glad you are in Alabama now!

You should pray about your starting your prison ministry back up or whatever the Lord places on your heart where He would have you to serve Him.

In His Love Always, Faith Reaper

Oscar Jones from Monroeville, Alabama on January 05, 2013:

I have never seen the righteous forsaken, of his seed begging for bread.

the testimonies of the Lord are sure.. making wise the simple..

more to be desired are they than gold, yeah than much fine gold.. sweeter also than honey.. in the honeycomb..

The Lord is my shepherd I shall not want. he maketh to lie down in green pastures. he restoreth my soul.

the goood samaritan man took the victim of the thieves and the robbers and took him to an inn.. and and told the keeper, take care of this (man/woman) , let me know if any more is owed when I return..

Jesus is calling .. I can hear the savior calling.. come home.. be not weary in well doing.. for you shall reap if you faint not. If my gospel is hid, it is hid to them that are lost. and he told the rich man .. go sell all that you have and feed the poor. and the rich merchant went away sad, for he had so much.. what will we give? in exchange for a soul.

these are words that just welled up inside me after reading your hub. I know they are all from the Word of God.. and yet they are empty without a vessel to pour from.. and a vessel to pour into..

years ago, I took my guitar in to the prisons and played the songs of zion. and even taught men and women how to minister to the incarcerated.. maybe I did not even really know how to do it myself... But Gods grace is merciful.. I know a man that spends his weekends going to the homeless in the streets of a south Alabama city to feed them,. what are we doing for our city.. for our world? when Jesus has said, when ye do it unto even the least of these, ye are doing it unto me..

thank you.

God bless you, thelyricwriter, I am so glad you shared this with me. Love really does cover a multitude of sins. In my personal experience, I know, too, that His mercies are new each and every morning, and that we all have fallen short. I am so thankful that He is not done with me, and I know I have a long way to go. He has placed on my heart to show kindness, mercy to others, and not to judge. The Holy Spirit convicted me one afternoon, and after that is when I began a little personal ministry to the homeless and I wrote about it in my very first hub. Thank you for your heartfelt comments. You are very special to me, but much better than that, special to He! In His Love, Faith Reaper

I commend you for writing it and sharing it with us. A perfect example of what God is capable of. This has warmed by soul. Faith, from where I am now and once was, your a special soul.

I love this wonderful hub! What a touching story and your last quote from Matthew is spot on. Your experience on Saturday with that lady was surely God at work.

My church has had a prison ministry for men for the past several years. The men actually go into the prison and the prisoners get lessons in anger management; they can get their GED if needed, Bible teaching and individual counseling. Each prisoner has a mentor of a man from our church, which is a big commitment as the prison is quite a long drive. We also have a kind of half-way house for those who have to where to go when they get out. This gives them a chance to get a job before being on their own. The recidivism rate in the lowest in FL. Some of the men will come to our church and are received with open arms.

Voted up and awesome. God Bless.

Wonderful account Faith. There is no other way to explain miracles, but thanking the maker. Wish CNN and all the Networks would show stories like these, but unfortunately is the 'sign of the times.' Your story deserves to be read at church, as you must've done it already. Thanks for enlightening our hearts with the word.
