Prince of Darkness

James A. Watkins is an entrepreneur, musician, and a writer with four non-fiction books and hundreds of magazine articles read by millions.

Satan Visits God

Those of you who do not believe in Satan and his demons can still enjoy this story, since I know many of you flocked to see (or read) the Da Vinci Code and other conspiracy theory films (or books).

One day, around 50 years ago, Satan came to visit with God. God said to Satan, "Where have you come from?" Satan answered God, "From roaming through the earth and going back and forth in it. I have been quite successful in Europe. I know you see all of those magnificent cathedrals that your servants spent hundreds of years building. You see they are nearly empty now except for tourists.

Do you see how I took control of those three men named Darwin, Marx, and Freud? And after they saturated the world with my ideas, deceiving men that there is no God, I worked through Stalin, Mao and Hitler to kill 100 million people."

Then God said to Satan, "Have you considered my nation, America? There is no nation on earth like it. No nation on earth has built more churches; none has more believers in my Word who love, worship and serve me. The Americans have my Name in their founding documents; their most famous universities have my Name in their charters; their political leaders invoke my Name regularly; they open their political and civic meetings with petitions to me in prayer; their public buildings have my Commandments displayed, including their schools—where they lead the students in prayer to me and read my Word to give the children a solid foundation in life. The Americans have performed missionary work, fed the poor, drilled wells for the thirsty, given clothes to naked, provided medical care for the sick, ministered to those in prison, and defended the oppressed worldwide more than any other nation—all in my Name."

Satan replied, "America does not serve you for nothing. Have you not put a hedge around it to protect it from me and my minions? Have you not blessed the work of their hands to make them the mightiest, wealthiest nation in the history of the earth? Remove your hedge and I will make them curse you to your face!"

God said, "Very well then, I will give you free reign for a time, and we shall see if my nation, America, maintains its uprightness."

Conspiracy Against America

Satan called a council of his chief demons to draw up a plan. Some in that meeting scoffed at the new strategy. "The belief in and love of God is just too strong there to pull this off," the dissenters said. "Look at how blessed America has been by God. You think these people will forget that somehow?" Satan replied, "I do. Because I know human beings very well. I know their weak spots."

One of those weak spots was the Supreme Court. Knowing he could never get his plans approved by the American People or its elected Representatives, Satan eyed the Supreme Court, which had only nine humans—all unelected and serving for life. He only needed five of them to fall under his influence. Sure enough, over the howls of the citizenry, they banned any mention of God from the public schools, including any display of His Commandments, any reading of His Bible, and any prayers to Him.

But Satan's greatest coup was to influence the court that the killing of babies should be legalized because it is a good thing, a 'liberating' thing for women who are 'unfairly' burdened with childbirth--by God, of course--and nurturing the next generation. Satan promoted the wanton killing of the greatest gift God had granted to mankind—the gift to create new life, just like themselves.

Satan and Demons

Then Satan and his demons went into high gear. They influenced the American Psychiatric Association to remove homosexuality from its list of mental disorders.

They influenced film makers to include rampant violence, promiscuous sex, and filthy language in their movies—because Satan (as well as Madison Avenue) knows the power of images taken in through the eyes of human beings.

His demons whispered in the ear of the people that the birth control pill had made them free to have sex with anyone at anytime, including hooking up with strangers. People had a right to unlimited pleasure---a perversion of God's plan for humanity.

The demons whispered to young women that aborting their babies was just fine—just a clump of tissue anyway! Think about yourself! Life is all about YOU! This will make you happy.

They influenced married men and women that adultery is not so bad—nobody will find out. And marriage? If you see someone more attractive just divorce your spouse. Your kids will be fine in broken homes. Why get married at all? Let's remove that stigma of out-of-wedlock births. It's all about YOU!

Prince of Darkness

To make all of these sinister plans work, the Devil would have to persuade tens of millions of people not to go to church; and influence churches to stop mentioning sin, hell and most of all--him.

The Devil came up with one of his best ideas with the promulgation of pornography. He got it into most family hotels in America and made it into the most profitable business on the Internet.

The Devil had to make sure the people had a multitude of distractions from the real meaning and purpose of life.

To keep the people in perpetual adolescence, they would have to be taught that there is no God, there is no afterlife, there is no day of judgment, there is no responsibility for one's own life—newer and newer programs from the government will take care of your needs. Women: stop being women. Be like men!

Let's revise the history of the United States to obscure the great blessings God has granted to this nation. Teach the people while they are young that America has a bad past that they should be ashamed of. The Founding Fathers are just a bunch a dead white men—YOU have life really figured out.

All of this involved a massive deception of human minds. It could only be accomplished through demonic control of the universities, public schools, film, and television. In a particularly audacious move—unprecedented— Satan took control of actual churches, such as the Episcopalians, and other "main line" churches.

An amazing victory for the Prince of Darkness. He will have plenty of company in the burning lake of fire.

Jesus Wept.

'If I Were the Devil' by Paul Harvey

In 1964, the great radio broadcaster Paul Harvey gave a speech on his show:

If I Were the Devil. If I were the Prince of Darkness. I would want to engulf the whole earth in darkness.

I’d have a third of its real estate and four-fifths of its population, but I would not be happy until I had seized the ripest apple on the tree.

So I should set about however necessary, to take over the United States.

I would begin with a campaign of whispers.

With the wisdom of a serpent, I would whispers to you as I whispered to Eve, “Do as you please.”

To the young I would whisper “The Bible is a myth.” I would convince them that “man created God,” instead of the other way around. I would confide that “what is bad is good and what is good is square.”

In the ears of the young married I would whisper that work is debasing, that cocktail parties are good for you. I would caution them not to be “extreme” in religion, in patriotism, in moral conduct.

And the old I would teach to pray — to say after me — “Our father which are in Washington.”

Then I’d get organized.

I’d educate authors in how to make lurid literature exciting so that anything else would appear dull, uninteresting.

I’d threaten TV with dirtier movies, and vice-versa.

I’d infiltrate unions and urge more loafing, less work. Idle hands usually work for me.

I’d peddle narcotics to whom I could, I’d sell alcohol to ladies and gentlemen of distinction, I’d tranquilize the rest with pills.

If I were the Devil, I would encourage schools to refine young intellects, but neglect to discipline emotions; let those run wild.

I’d designate an atheist to front for me before the highest courts and I’d get preachers to say, “She’s right.”

With flattery and promises of power I would get the courts to vote against God and in favor of pornography.

Thus I would evict God from the courthouse, then from the schoolhouse, then from the Houses of Congress.

Then in his own churches I’d substitute psychology for religion and deify science.

If I were Satan I’d make the symbol of Easter an egg

And the symbol of Christmas a bottle.

If I were the Devil I’d take from those who have and give to those who wanted until I had killed the incentive of the ambitious. Then my police state would force everybody back to work.

Then I would separate families, putting children in uniform, women in coal mines and objectors in slave-labor camps.

If I were Satan I’d just keep doing what I’m doing and the whole world go to hell as sure as the Devil.

James A Watkins (author) from Chicago on May 03, 2019:

Thank you Elijah. I will go over and take a look.

Elijah A Alexander Jr from Washington DC on April 30, 2019:

For your first post, James, I mostly agree except it has only been a few years that many translations were marketed which means the mass of the teachers are using the KJV, NIV and a few others with strong Catholic ties, those that don't become mega-churches Revelation called Laodiceans and aren't concerned about the truth, only money.

As for your second post I just finished posting on my interpretation of the creation Jesus spoke of in explaining how and why we are required to be "BornAgain" to fulfill ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.’ You are a deep thinker and I believe you see the logic for using man-boy and man-girl rather than female/male and man/woman. Take a look and et back on it, I believe you will agree with me.

James A Watkins (author) from Chicago on April 30, 2019:

Elijah ~ Jesus said: "“Haven’t you read that at the beginning the Creator ‘made them male and female,’ and said, ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh’?"

Robert George wrote an article in First Things magazine entitled ‘What Marriage Is—And What It Isn't’ in which he stated; "The bodily unity of spouses is possible because human males and females, like other mammals, unite organically when they mate—they form a single reproductive principle. Although reproduction is a single act, in humans (and other mammals), the reproductive act is performed not by individual members of the species but by a mated pair as an organic unit.

"What is unique about marriage is that it truly is a comprehensive sharing of life, a sharing founded on the bodily union made uniquely possible by the sexual complementarity of man and woman—a complementarity that makes it possible for two human beings to become, in the language of the Bible, one flesh—and thus possible for this one-flesh union to be the foundation of a relationship in which it is intelligible for two persons to bind themselves to each other in pledges of permanence, monogamy, and fidelity."

James A Watkins (author) from Chicago on April 30, 2019:

Elijah ~ You are certainly right that today in America "schooling is for the purpose of causing sameness among those schooled." No doubt social engineering into political correctness runs rampant. That was not the case in our schools for much of the history of Western Civilization. We used to have pupils - not we have students.

You are probably right that "Catholicism is hellbent on controlling all interpretations of the Hebrew translated and writings cannoned into the Bible for almost 2000 years" but they did not succeed by any stretch. Many Bibles we have today bypass the Catholic translations.

Elijah A Alexander Jr from Washington DC on April 29, 2019:

Yes, James, I did later find it and saw

male = sperm producer

Female = egg producers

and a lots more including calling animals male/man and female/woman but, being I'm a "conspiracy theorist" who have had a distrust of authority form early childhood - Louisiana 1945 to '53 then Texas - and a schoolteacher mother who thought everything she believed was true but I discovered she'd believe a lie over the truth, as most teachers, I don't believe it. All my life I've seen authority figures who didn't accept logic over what they were taught, so I have very little respect and acceptance of what they say. Look at what I said in the post after the one you replied to, that just about say it all.

James A Watkins (author) from Chicago on April 29, 2019:

Wow Elijah. I will try not to call you sir or mister again. I see that you are right, the former originally meant 'knight' and the latter 'master.' Interesting. I did not know that. Thanks for the enlightenment.

I apologize for that link not working. It was an interesting article about the origin of the words male and female. Let me see if I can copy and paste it from Google. I will point out that the etymology specifically calls 'male' as 'sperm-producing' and 'female' as 'egg-producing,' which I hadn't noticed before.

late Middle English: from Old French masle, from Latin masculus, from mas ‘a male’.

ALSO see here:

Origin Middle English: from Old French femelle, from Latin femella, diminutive of femina ‘a woman’.

Elijah A Alexander Jr from Washington DC on April 29, 2019:

That is quite interesting, James. Once I recognized the link does work from the post and not when copied and pasted in the browser I found it.

The research appears to be an individual's and as recent as 30 years ago and I don't doubt their sincerity nor objectivity in seeking its truth like I have but it doesn't show how deep the search went. As for me, I recognize Latin and Hebrew are old established written languages and Hebrew has several different meanings for Female and neither provides a definition for "fe".

It "SHOULD BE" common sense that forced is the easiest way of controlling minds and is intentional at the highest level of leadership. To mentally control a controller plays on the ignorance of those to be control and we know the Catholic organization first used force backed by mind control in forming it organization and translated Hebrew to Latin then english. In Hebrew there are at least 3 words for female but no definition for "fe" in any language with it. Because Hebrew and Latin are thousands of years old written languages means they schooled their people and, as we both know schooling is for the purpose of causing sameness among those schooled, so it's possible they eliminated "fe's" definition so a radical reasoner like me questioning fe's definition could not find it. I can't reject that possibility until unless proven differently.

Since Catholicism is hellbent on controlling all interpretations of the Hebrew translated and writings cannoned into the Bible for almost 2000 years how can it not be said the Vatican didn't work to eliminate all notions of the prefix "fe" existed without taking into consideration a radical reasoner would find it where Jacob worked for his wives who were his fee for his services.

As for the prefix "wo" it doesn't take a rocket scientist to realize it means woven from man and both male and man has the same meaning as Homo Sapiens, "able to become wise".

Elijah A Alexander Jr from Washington DC on April 28, 2019:

Brother James, please don't call me Sir nor Mr. they were originally an abbreviation of master now used as terms of exaltation and no man is to be exalted above any other per the Constitution. It is a term the supplanters of this land brought from England to what's now called Americas. They wrote in the Article 1.9.8 "No Title of Nobility shall be granted by the United States:" that goes on to say " Person holding any Office of Profit or Trust under them, shall, without the Consent of the Congress, accept of any present, Emolument, Office, or "Title," of any kind whatever, from any King, Prince, or foreign State", yet they use them along with Ma'am, Miss and Mrs. what was "originally an abbreviation for the wife of a master", thus, they are constitutionally denied use in reference to each other because they make the ones called that superior to the caller. Brother and Sister are terms of equality so to "prefect this Union [of states]" so our terms must reflect equality among both genders [sexes] without recognition of position except their position's title. I would appreciate the terms Mr and Sir not be used in recognizing me, brother will suffice.

As for the link, no part except "" brings anything up, all others produced "Not Found".

James A Watkins (author) from Chicago on April 28, 2019:

Yes sir, I can.

Elijah A Alexander Jr from Washington DC on April 26, 2019:

I couldn't find it, can you send the link where you found them?

James A Watkins (author) from Chicago on April 26, 2019:

No one "changed the etymology." Look up 'male' in Latin and then look up 'female' in Latin to see for yourself.

Elijah A Alexander Jr from Washington DC on April 23, 2019:

God said "let us make man ... in the image of god created them", James, so I agree with that part, but I disagree with "they didn't change the etymology" and can not until I see how "fe" is used as a prefix to "male" that directly translates into "man". We will have to agree to disagree until/if I find such proof.

James A Watkins (author) from Chicago on April 23, 2019:

T ~ It is kind of funny, actually. And quite silly.

James A Watkins (author) from Chicago on April 23, 2019:

Elijah ~ I do not believe 'they' have changed the etymology, no. God did not call both 'genders' man. God called both SEXES man. Just like we do. You might say 'man evolved' when you mean men and women, although it is more politically correct to say 'humankind' than 'mankind.'

The Logician from then to now on on April 21, 2019:

James, is your head spinning now? ‘Cause mine is.

Elijah A Alexander Jr from Washington DC on April 21, 2019:

So they have changed the etymology from what were in the 1940' dictionaries they taught us from? I know they gave African-Americans books anywhere from 7 to 10 year older in those days, from whence I got mine, but I would not have expected them to change and taught it so much.

This nation's not wanting its people to actually understand life encourages our babbling is why the Bible called this nation Mystery Babylon. Yet, you have not determined by your findings what the prefix "fe" means nor the suffix "male" means. I found in my yesteryears that "male" mean "man" but have NEVER found found a written definition for "fe". The closest thing to defending both man and female are in the Bible. Upon finding the definition of "dominion" to mean "to exceed the ability of" in a 1930s or 40s Webster 5 or six inch thick dictionary my mother got when teaching school in the '40s, I realized the only way something could do it is with an understanding, thus, man meaning. Since god called both genders "man" before they used the alternative version of man for the genders by adding "fe" to male to pronounce the girl why don't we call deer fedeer, cats fecat, chickens fechicken and the like for all animated species?

Like I've informed you, "fe's" definition biblically is determined where Jacob worked for his two wives as his fee for 14 years of service, then his 7 years of work to return to his homeland was his "fe" for his freedom, "the price paid."

James A Watkins (author) from Chicago on April 21, 2019:

Elijah ~ The two words do not have the etymological link you imply. Female comes from the Latin word Femina/Femela, which became 'femelle' in French and 'female' in English. The word male comes from the Latin mas/masculus, which became 'masle' in French and 'male' in English.

By the way we do have male and female deer and cats.

Elijah A Alexander Jr from Washington DC on April 18, 2019:

Unconfuse me by giving me a definition for the "fe" in female. Deer don't have fedeer and deer, nor cats and fecats and cats, nor dogs fedogs and dogs, so why would god make feman and man? Please unconfcuse me!!!!

James A Watkins (author) from Chicago on April 18, 2019:

Elijah ~ Again you are confused. Male and female in regard to human beings are SEXES not ‘genders.’ Animals have no gender. Animals come in two sexes: male and female. The two mate to produce more of their species.

You also wrote this nonsense: “boys think themselves to high to be call boys so they exalt themselves with the specie's name and belittle girls by providing a prefix to make them less than their equal as Gen. 1's story conveys.” I was once a boy myself and I have two sons and a grandson. I have never in my life heard a boy express than girls were lesser beings. That is feminist horsetwaddle. Throughout the ages, men have thought women BETTER beings than themselves, if anything. And the Genesis story DOES NOT make women lesser beings. God made woman out of the man, not from his head to rule over by him, not from his feet to be trampled on by him, but from his side to be equal with him, from under his arm to be protected by him, from near his heart to be loved by him.

And please, don’t lecture me on what the Bible means when you describe yourself as a Atheist. An Atheist does not know and cannot know what the Bible means.

Elijah A Alexander Jr from Washington DC on April 12, 2019:

The in Hebrew the word גַברָא, as is what is supposed to have been translated in Genesis is "man" does not mean "mankind", the genders should be boys and girls. Today's English speaking boys think themselves to high to be call boys so they exalt themselves with the specie's name and belittle girls by providing a prefix to make them less than their equal as Gen. 1's story conveys. So, give me some place where you found a definition for the "fe" in "female" [I've given you mine] or "wo" in "woman" [I have also provided mine] so I can see if it means a gender or if it is only used as one? I already know "male" is defined as man which is our specie's name.

All animated species that use sex to reproduce have two genders, in deer they are buck and doe once they are of reproduction age, cats it's toms and pussies, hogs it's bore and sow but they are not terms for their prepubescents as is true for man, our genders are boys and girls for pubescents and children for our prepubescents.

We are saying almost the same thing but you are using words you can't or wont give me a way to find their definitions which means you are only babbling. I want to assist you to overcome the babbling this "Mystery, Babylon The Great, The Mother Of Harlots And Abominations Of The Earth" has us doing so you can understand what the Bible wants us to grasp.

James A Watkins (author) from Chicago on April 12, 2019:

Elijah ~ God created humankind male and female. Male and female are the essence of God's design for us; He fashioned our bodies with divine intent. In the whole world, throughout all time, we see the human family with children born to a man and a woman who are then responsible for their upbringing.

Male and female are inherently sexual distinctions, as any biology textbook affirms. A scientist can see by examining the male and female sexual organs that they fit together in conjugal union and that the sperm and egg together reproduce the human race in a way that two men or two women cannot possibly do. It is not a coincidence that a penis and a vagina are called reproductive organs.

Two people certainly do become one flesh. Philosopher Germain Grisez explains, “Though a male and a female are complete individuals with respect to other functions—for example, nutrition, sensation, and locomotion—with respect to reproduction they are only potential parts of a mated pair, which is the complete organism capable of reproducing sexually. Even if the mated pair is sterile, intercourse, provided it is the reproductive behavior characteristic of the species, makes the copulating male and female one organism.”

James A Watkins (author) from Chicago on April 12, 2019:

Elijah ~ Elijah ~ ‘Gender’ is not about reproduction. It is about masculine and feminine characteristics. Your anatomy is who God made you to be. You are not to pretend to be a woman if you are a man or vice versa. If you refuse to honor God's design for you it is a disorder; it is wrong; it is a sin.

Psychosis is a term used for a mental state in which a patient experiences an impaired sense of reality. Psychotic patients experience reality as other than what it is. A delusion is defined as "a false belief or wrong judgment held with conviction despite incontrovertible evidence to the contrary."

A white person claiming to be black would most certainly be considered delusional – and so are people who claim a different sexual identity from the one that their anatomy incontrovertibly demonstrates. They claim that one's gender may be the same or different from one's sex assigned at birth. This statement intentionally uses language to distort reality - no one's sex is ‘assigned’ at birth. Can we declare an alternate ‘age identity' to be legitimately different from one's real age?

Some psychotic individuals undergo so-called ‘sex-reassignment' surgery. These operations cannot ‘reassign' sex; they can only disfigure normal anatomy and produce monstrous results—mutant human beings with the genotype of one sex and an imitation of the phenotype of another.

Dr. Boris Vatel has stated that if a person would wish to have this done to himself that alone should be grounds enough to consider him mentally ill. That a surgeon would perform such a procedure should prompt a criminal investigation.

Elijah A Alexander Jr from Washington DC on April 10, 2019:

I do have a vague memory that gender was earlier used for language, so I can't argue against that, but these days I have only known it to be used as animated being's reproduction role.

Where did you find your definition for "fe" in "female"? I've not found one in any dictionary, the only place I see something representing the "fe" is where Jacob worked for his wives. Male also means man (not a gender) so if a girl worked for a boy, as it was in some cultures, boys would be females.

The biological evidence may show man's body's smallest cell is either boy or girl but not male or female because of the foregoing.

Feminine and masculine are the equivalent "yen & yang", internal attributes which are integrated in man but, because of the Adam and Even metaphor, one is missing out of all human and woman since that is what the operation represent the loss of. That is what the statement "Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh" implies, if we leave out teachings "boys don't do 'y' and girls don't do 'z' they will reunite in each of our flesh, as it is with me now that I've gone through the new birth. It is because of that that human can engage in sex for pleasure. When born again sex for pleasure is very, very limited, it require one to be what I call "a scatter brain" (someone with a vast amount of knowledge but not integrated) while the born again person tends to tie their knowledge together, thus, opposites attraction allows for sex for pleasure.

It is also because of the teaching "boys don't do 'y' and girls don't do 'z'" and associating them with a sexual role that we have homosexuality. "Y" is the opposite of "z" so the magnetic effects allows sex for pleasure. That is “the divinely willed difference" and if girls weren't taught differently from boys from the early days of civilization their would not be such differences in their thinking, yet, all of this wiz predestined from what we call "the beginning" which only the different halves of civilization has.

Boys and girls, as "help meet" suggests, are equals but with different functions, as I just implied, from the foundation of THIS civilization, there will not be those differences in Revelation 21's to complete the cycle. The "newborn" of this civilization will be balanced in every way so much so that we will be, for "karma's sake", to change genders during the "replenishing process" and conceive or cause to conceive for every child we cause or conceive. That is why I call that civilization, as verses 1,4, 10-14 & 23 suggests, "alternative" and why everyone has to discarnate and be reborn t live in it, they can not be deceived to into changing like man were in this civilization as happened during the flood and "the tower of Babel."

James A Watkins (author) from Chicago on April 10, 2019:

Thanks T.

James A Watkins (author) from Chicago on April 10, 2019:

Elijah ~ You wrote, 'The term "gender" means "the role one participate in the reproduction process."' No. Gender until recently was a word to describe language - not people. People come in two sexes: Male and Female.

Every person is, right down to the smallest bodily cells, either a man or a woman,” says theologian Manfred Hauke regarding the biological evidence. This is our nature, how God created us. Masculine and feminine are unique God-given qualities that cannot be genderblended into oblivion.

Yet there are those who are trying mightily to do so, with manifestly grotesque and dysfunctional consequences. Men and women are created for each other. And so, as Hauke correctly says, “the divinely willed differentness and complementarity of the sexes is the ‘watershed’ that separates Feminism and Christian anthropology.”

Males and females are different from the earliest stages of development in the womb in myriad ways. Indeed, major differences between male and female brains prove they do not even think the same way. To deny that there are differences in the abilities, skills, aptitudes, attitudes, responses, and natural behaviors of men and women, is to flat out lie about the scientific facts. And we know who is the ‘father of lies.’

But why this lie? The Bible says God made male and female to be different beings that complement each other, each bringing to a union what the other lacks and needs. And lo and behold science now proves that men and women are different in every microscopic cell, in every fiber of our being. There are only two biological sexes or genders, and hard science confirms that statement. The Weizmann Institute in Israel released a study in 2018 that shows 6,500 genes that are biased to one sex (gender) or the other.

Thank you for your commentaries!

The Logician from then to now on on April 09, 2019:

"T ~ I'm baack"

LOL, that you are! But...

I was hoping for

"hasta la vista baby"

Just as well, I am enlightened by what you said. Sorry I can't say that about our friend from Washington DC. Maybe it's that location that does things to people who dwell there.

Elijah A Alexander Jr from Washington DC on April 09, 2019:

James, how can the "comforter" or "holy spirit" bring all things to our remembrance (John 14:26) if we haven't experienced them or been shown them in some form? Once I got through the metamorphosis Jesus called "born again" [ at scroll the Content page to "MY FLESHLY BIRTH AND LIFE" for my testimony ] the comforter began to show me things I never would have considered. As the nomad I became after my rebirth the comforter revealed how "all things are lawful unto me" and it's up to spirit to determines when they are "expedient".

Since all things are made by God there can be no "garbage" but there are only "leftovers", including our body's waste, to be recycled and used elsewhere.

I am informed that Ecclesiastes 1:9's "The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun" is the correct translation from Hebrew, not the JW's. So what does Genesis 1:14's reading "Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years" say to you? To me it says the firmament's lights are a sign of man's earthly plight (see Romans 1:20) like seasons, days and years therefore there is a cycle to civilization like seasons, days and years.

Look at Revelation 20:5 saying "this is the first resurrection and tell me why there is a first resurrection if there is not at least a second. This first resurrection is the 90% of this civilization's end time population who are to die during "the battle of that great day of god almighty" (Rev. 16:14) reincarnates, so where do we find the second. Rev. 17:15 say "the waters [with an "s"] which thou sawest, where the whore sitteth, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues: so when the spirit of god moved upon the waters in Genesis 1 and divided the waters [with an "s"] with a firmament it was what is termed a rapture of the people from Rev. 21's civilization which was the second resurrection who were "replenished" during the day of rest since man wasn't told to replenish the earth until the end of the sixth day, [they returned to fleshly man] as Logical associating reveals.

Talk to anyone who know Hebrew and they will tell you one word translates into "in beginning" and "in the beginning" depending if it has a "jot or tittle" in it. Without it it means "in beginning" and the word in the Hebrew scriptures doesn't have the "jot or tittle" that Jesus said would be removed until all things are fulfilled.

The term "gender" means "the role one participate in the reproduction process." Man [not woman nor human who are inferior man] were given "dominion" over earth and everything hereon were able to change from one gender to another like some girl frogs change into a boy [girl and boy are genders] frog when there are too few or no boy frogs are available for reproducing. So I realize no genders are written in the Bible but most Christians uses "man and male" as the boy gender and "woman and female" [the "fe" in female means "price paid to" as Jacob's two wives were his fee for 7 years of labor for each] as the girl gender, therefore we agree there.

The word sex actually means "the reproducing act" and isn't a gender although it's commonly use as genders. Therefore Genesis 1:26 should read "... in the image of God created he him; boy and girl created he them" for the correct representation of the genders.

The Bible's first use of "men" was "the daughters of men" at the flood representing mankind without the ability to exceed earth and everything hereon because of using judgmental adjectives "the tree of the knowledge of good and evil" represents. The proper use of "mankind" is not about genders but saying there are more than one type of man, Genesis 1's man [plural including both genders] were given the ability to exceed the earth and everything hereon but didn't know how, Adam and Eve were not even given those abilities until they intermarried the ideology of the "sons of God" at the flood (Gen. 6:4) which is why everyone except Noah's family died mentally to become "the living dead" Jesus spoke about and Enoch, Moses, Elijah and Jesus who were man or "god".

The Bible shows many things as good/evil, right/wrong, even love/hate righteousness/sin and many other judgmental adjectives but, If there was no man-made lights, since days contain dark and light, and some man were nocturnal but blinded by the mornings' light and the others were blinded in evenings' darkness those nocturnal man would call light evil, wrong, bad and etc. while those who see in the light would call evening by those same judgments. That doesn't make evenings nor mornings evil, wrong, bad and etc. It's only relative to their ability to see that they are called that. So, if someone obtains things in excess and others can't get them those who can't get them would call those with then similar terms yet, there is nothing concrete to to make it so it is only their circumstances they are judging.

That is why God made the concepts, so I AM could sit back and laugh at our unwillingness to reason.

Elijah J Alexander Jr. ~ Confucius say, "Open mind let in much garbage."

If the Holy Spirit dwells in your heart He will help you discern the Truth when ideas or concepts are set before you.

Now, you write, "the Bible suggests these things happens over and over indefinitely with ... Revelation [21] ... that will bring us back to Genesis 1:1."

Absolutely not. Unlike Eastern Religions which are cyclical there is nothing cyclical about Christianity. It is LINEAR. It features a definite beginning and a definite end and in between a history that means something and is going somewhere. The New Jerusalem is not the Garden of Eden.

You are very confused. There are no 'genders' in the Bible. There are sexes. Two of them to be exact: male and female God made them. The first man was named Adam. The first woman was named Eve. They were the first two human beings. Out of their union came the rest of humankind ever since. Adam and Eve are the parents of every human being on Earth.

The word 'man' and 'mankind' have always been used in English to represent both men and women. Don't be fooled by your local college gender studies department. You may disagree all you like that God made the human race "male and female" but Genesis 1:26-27 could not be more clear about that.

The Bible is a very judgmental book. It lays out clearly enough even for children to understand this is good, that is evil, wicked, sinful, wrong. I know this doesn't please New Agers but it pleases God.

Well James, the rabbit hole is now wide open before you, I beg you don't go down this rabbit hole, there is no coming back. :-)

Elijah A Alexander Jr from Washington DC on April 06, 2019:

The difference between you and me, Bro. James, is I don't reject anything but set it aside until "if" I can find a place for it to complete how I explain the whole, RE: the Buddhist mumbo-jumbo statement.

My question is how can the "garden in Eden" story be a fact when the Bible suggests these things happens over and over indefinitely with this material civilization being the place where they began to describe the cycle and once ewe reach Revelation we see the unseen "alternative" earth (21:1) of man with alternative bodies (21-4) in an alternative civilization (21:10-14) and without a sun (21:23) that will bring us back to Genesis 1:1?

What brings you to say "God made humans—and only humans—to be like Him" when those man in Genesis 1:26-28 were each created whole man. It was the single man, Adam, that had another man hewed (for human or woven for woman) from him that he then renamed "woman (human)" because she was "woven (hewed)" out of man since to "weave or hew" something out one thing leaves them both "hewed or woven" from each other? God also brought the birds and animals to she second man, not those first ones.

You said "God created the universe and the laws of nature in an orderly fashion, and gave mankind rational minds capable of investigating the world in which he was placed, in order that man might learn about God by studying His infinite creative intelligence—His handiwork: the universe and its creatures" and I partially agree.

The word "mankind" suggest more than genders, it means there are at least two different man but I find three in the Bible. Genesis 1's man were both genders with "the ability to exceed earth and everything hereon", as dominion is defined, and reproduced during the sixth day. Genesis 2's man was single then was divided to produce the second gender who were "unable to exceed the ability of earth and everything hereon" since they were not told to do so. Then we have people like Enoch, Moses, Elijah and Jesus who were so perfect in their sojourn that they did not discarnate but were "raptured" as it is called. That suggests the four I named did study his infinite - which is why I don't reject anything but store what I don't use in my memory bank - creation and became what those first man were told they were to become. So my disagreement is your use of "mankind" rather than the word man.

I also disagree with "God made humankind male and female". My reasoning is human/woman denotes the man placed in the garden and divided to make the "price paid" ("fe's" definition) "to man", I will say, on the 8th day. It were those man who were "punished", as it's called, by forcing them to develop civilization or world. At the flood they where called "daughters of men" who the "sons of god" desired the descendants of and married their ideology to died in a flood "of ignorance" which caused Jesus to say to all who clung to it "let the dead (of minds) bury their dead (of bodies)."

Brother James, did you notice hows many "judgmental adjectives" you used in your second quote from your book? You began with "wicked", then "sin", "good", "right", "wrong", lies" and "evil", and believe me, I'm not finding fault in you, I'm attempting to help you get a better understanding of the book you use as your guide to life.

You said in ending it, "When Jesus says that it would be better for us to pluck out our eyes and cut off our hands" and he said that under the circumstance you completed it with. At the same time he was leaving message for those who are living during the time when man must receive one of the "marks of the beast" to sustain themselves. The mark goes in either the right hand for scanning the handprint or above the right eye for scanning the retina. Isaiah 28:9-13 tells us what is required to comprehend the message the Bible intends the saved must know. The Bible's actual message is a verbal jig-saw puzzle we are required to see the pictures before finding their places in the puzzle.

I am sorry but I do not buy into the Buddhist mumbo-jumbo, Elijah, that good and evil are not real but that evil is nothing but the absence of good or merely something we don't like.

In Exodus 32:22 when Aaron says, "“You know how prone these people are to evil," EVIL is a concrete real thing. EVIL is real, my friend.

James A Watkins (author) from Chicago on April 06, 2019:

Elijah ~ I am not the least bit ashamed to point out the Truth that in the English language "evil' and 'good' can be either adjectives or nouns depending on how they are used. Evil and Good are concrete real things that are extant in our Cosmos. That much ought to be obvious. And it has nothing to do with Babylon.

James A Watkins (author) from Chicago on April 06, 2019:

Brother Elijah ~ Thank you for those marvelous Scriptures, which prompt me once again to quote from my first book:

"We are commanded to judge wicked deeds and doctrines. 'Let the one without sin cast the first stone' means we are not to be vigilantes who go around killing adulterers—especially if we have committed the same sin ourselves. It does not mean we are to say adultery is good [or even neutral].

"Jesus told the woman who was a habitual sinner, “Go! And Sin no more.” He never taught that we should keep on sinning and be proud of it. Christ believed in right and wrong and taught us the difference.

"‘Do not judge’ is the Bible phrase most often quoted by those who do not believe in the Bible. God does disapprove of some kinds of judging but approves and actually commands others. We are not to pick on the faults of our brothers and sisters. But we are to correct those who spread lies about God, Jesus, or the Bible; those who misrepresent or deviously take Scripture (sacred writings) out of context; people who are proud of their sins; and especially people who call evil good.

"‘Judge not’ applies to people who denounce others publicly for doing the same things they do secretly—where they think no one sees. God sees. It never meant ‘Do not confront evil’ or ‘Do not denounce sin.’

"When Jesus says that it would be better for us to pluck out our eyes and cut off our hands—the most valuable non-vital parts of our bodies—rather than go to Hell, he means we need radical surgery of a spiritual nature. He says we must be ‘born again,’ literally reborn from above—a spiritual rebirth of your heart, which is baptism by the Holy Spirit. The Spirit of God comes to live inside you, with your body as the Temple of God, conjoined to Christ, abundant life eternal."

James A Watkins (author) from Chicago on April 06, 2019:

Brother Elijah ~ Yes, I'd say you are on target with your summary of the commands in Genesis 1, "Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground."

If I may quote from my first book, which I think you would enjoy: "“In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.” Thus begins the most read book in human history. God created this pale blue dot on which we live, by speaking it into existence.

“God created man in his own image.” God made humans—and only humans—to be like Him. This gives us an innate dignity and value. God formed Adam’s body from the earth and breathed his soul—his living being—into him. The only creatures that are able to carry on a conversation with God are human beings. Like our Creator, we have personalities, rational minds, creative abilities, and moral principles. But we also have the free will to reject Him.

"God brought the animals and birds He had made to Adam to see what he would name them. Naming things is called taxonomy and it is at the heart of science.

"The Scientific Revolution only happened in Christian lands because the Bible taught that God created the universe and the laws of nature in an orderly fashion, and gave mankind rational minds capable of investigating the world in which he was placed, in order that man might learn about God by studying His infinite creative intelligence—His handiwork: the universe and its creatures.

"God made humankind male and female, and ordained marriage right from the start of the human race as a man and a woman becoming one flesh—a sacred thing."

Yes James, I have Bible with many highlighted passages containing the word "evil".

"God cannot be tempted with evil" is saying "God can't temp with anything God doesn't desire". It is used as if it is a noun but it still can't be described except as, because "evil" is the word, something undesired and if it had been "good" it would have been something desired. Because "love" is something desired and "hate" undesired are considered emotions but with no way to describe them except desired and undesired they are adjectives because of describing something desired or not. To give a name to anything one can't verify makes it a judgment.

James A Watkins (author) from Chicago on April 05, 2019:

Elijah ~ Do you have a Bible? I can give you a hundred examples of the words you mentioned used as nouns. James 1:13 "Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man." EVIL right there is a NOUN not an adjective. Now it can be an adjective, as in "there goes evil Elijah again." But when it says you must choose between good and evil, those are nouns. In other words, they are more than descriptive, they are concrete real THINGS.

Elijah A Alexander Jr from Washington DC on April 05, 2019:

No wonder the Bible calls the U.S.A. Mystery Babylon, they are attempting to confuse its people by making judgments a noun. Nouns can be described because they are objects so how does one describe evil's color, shape or height, is it round, square, oblong. The only way I know to describe it is "anything or something not wanted" and the definitions you provided, "suffering, misfortune, and wrongdoing" are declaring things that are not wanted like "profoundly immoral; malevolent" on my computer's dictionary that calls evil an adjective.

You should be ashamed to even post those definitions because they have no concrete representations.

James A Watkins (author) from Chicago on April 05, 2019:

Elijah ~ Dictionary. Webster's: EVIL (noun)

1a : the fact of suffering, misfortune, and wrongdoing

b : a cosmic evil force

2 : something that brings sorrow, distress, or calamity

Elijah A Alexander Jr from Washington DC on April 05, 2019:

brother James, when did judgments become nouns? Aren't "nouns" tangible things that can be described by colors, shapes and sizes? What dictionary did you find "judgmental adjectives" are nouns in, please let me know?

What was God's commandment to those Genesis 1 man? Wasn't it to exceed the ability of the earth and everything hereon, as "dominion" is defined, multiply and replenish the earth and eat from vegetation with seeds that produces the plant? Wasn't Adam's commanded not to eat from 'the tree of the knowledge of good and evil', name all animated life, leave their parental teachings and cleve to their wives so each of the two [attributes, yin & yang] for each one to be united in their flesh and go through the flaming sword to return to the garden? So, are those the commandments god want us to keep or the ones given to man after the flood?

Mathew 7:1 and Luke 6:37 is where Jesus told us 'not to judge', John 3:8 and 'the great commandment' in Matthew 28:19-20 is where he said "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things [Mat. 7:1 & Luke 6:37 apply here also] whatsoever I have commanded you..." is where you find that whopper.

What in the Bible tells us what being 'born again' require? [My hub 'Why Be Born Again?' show where and what it takes.] How about Genesis 3:24 and Daniel 4:33 & 12:10 for an example of what we will be like once we are reborn. If you don't realize how man were before we were made to wear our "coats of skin" rather than the hair we had prior to being forced to live none environmentally after the garden's eviction, how do you expect to know what we have to return to being by being born again? Doesn't the prefix "re" in repent mean to return to, so what are we going to return to when we repent our sins of living civilized?

As for the rest of what you said I will simply say: "my world view is nothing like what you think it is, it encompasses aspects of all world views with 'zero, or a ball, being the only whole' in all of existence. If you are able to comprehend that you are able to comprehend what my world view is."

The Logician from then to now on on April 05, 2019:

I receive this wonderful, convincing and exhausting explanation to Elijah A Alexander Jr. I haven't yet, for years, read anything from you James that I disagree with.

So, why do I feel, in reference to him, like you are talking to a wall?

James A Watkins (author) from Chicago on April 05, 2019:

Elijah A Alexander Jr. ~ I am sorry sir but you are mistaken on a fundamental level. You write, "In English words like good, evil, right, wrong and the like are called adjectives," apparently unaware that those are also NOUNS.

And to deny Free Will is to fall into the Atheist trap and completely unbiblical. There are 1,050 commands in the New Testament alone, and men and women must be free to follow or not follow commands otherwise it is nonsensical to issue them in the first place.

Jesus sternly warned against those who know better leading the innocent and the ignorant into wickedness. ‘Keep my Commandments’ is written 359 times in the Bible. These commands cover every phase of your relationship with God and your fellow man.

The word ‘if’ appears 1,522 times in the Bible; always to promise what will happen in your future if you serve God; and what will happen if you serve yourself—which is serving the world or Satan. There is no use of an 'if' if we have no Free Will.

You make a silly claim that Jesus Christ "instructed us to wonder the earth over and observe all things without judging them." Show me the verse for that whopper.

You say we were left in the dark about what being 'born again' means but that is not so. I suggest reading 1 Corinthians 15.

Unrepentant sinners use the excuse, “I was born this way!” Well Jesus says, “You must be born again.” If there are genes that affect our inclinations and desires you still have the choice because you have free will. God says we are each responsible for our behavior individually. We are not robots no matter what kind of genes you have.

In that meaningless materialist universe in which you put your faith, there is not even Free Will. Any notion that you 'decided' to do something is an illusion to those of your ilk. That is what your worldview is FOR. That is the only benefit of your worldview: to eliminate morality.

In your worldview, there is no self-control because there is no self to control. And no ethics in your reality because one must have Free Will to behave ethically. Even rationality is an illusion imposed by some neural network to another if only have brains but no minds.

Biologist William B. Provine was honest about what the Theory of Evolution teaches: "There are no gods, no purposes, no goal-directed forces of any kind. There is no life after death. There is no ultimate foundation for ethics, no ultimate meaning to life, and no free will for humans, either."

We are conscious, we have willpower, we are emotional, we have a special purpose, and we search for meaning. The world changes us, yes, but we also change it. It is common sense that we have minds. We say, "Mary finally made up her mind," we do not say, "Mary's brain told her what to do."

So the divide is between people who do not believe mental processes actually exist—those who think that eventually science will explain away consciousness, mind, self, intentions, desires, beliefs, aspirations, goals, expectations, morality, good and evil, right and wrong and free will—and those who believe consciousness and the mind exist independently of the physical brain; we do not only undergo experiences, but we also create them.

We have learned that there are spaces between the neurons in your brain, called synapses. They conduct signals using parts of atoms called ions, which function according to the rules of Quantum Physics, not Classical Physics. Your free will decides the pattern of neurons in your brain based on your decisions. That is how you can hold an idea in your head—if you want to. And whatever you pay attention to changes your brain circuitry.

If you focus on a given thought, you hold a pattern of neurons in place, and the very idea of keeping an idea in place is a decision you make. If neural circuits receive a great deal of traffic they grow; if not, they shrink, and the amount of traffic depends on to what we choose to pay attention. We can change the patterns of our neurons consciously. But a collection of atoms cannot become conscious, aware of their own existence.

Some want to free man from God because they want to release man from God’s moral expectations. They expect less of men and women because they do not think men and women can help what they do.

Since they can do nothing except whatever their brains tell them to do, they have no free will to choose the right path or the wrong path. In fact, there is no right or wrong way. So the idea is we need to stop blaming people for what they do. But if these atheists are correct, all of our thoughts are worthless, including all of our philosophies, including the Theory of Evolution.

We have good reasons to reject their view of the human robot that can only do as programmed. We have good reason to believe man is a spiritual animal.

Elijah A Alexander Jr from Washington DC on April 02, 2019:

Brother James, The appearance of "free will" is provided in the scriptures but when we delve beneath the suffice it doesn't exist. What must be properly understood is the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

In English words like good, evil, right, wrong and the like are called adjectives and adjective describes but what isn’t taught is the two kinds of adjectives, descriptive and judgmental. A description reveals things like color, shape or size and are universal while judgments are the speakers’ individual preference. So to say something is good, evil or any other judgments the speaker is saying “I accept” or “I reject” what’s described and is what the death is.

To understand how judging killed man we need to know the definition of man. My research reveals it derived from Homo Sapiens defined as minds able to become wise. We should know there is wisdom in all things and that makes man mean "minds able to comprehend all things" that includes the first creation’s man. If you noticed the definition contains "able" and suggests man weren’t created comprehending all things, it is something each individual will have to grow into. That makes the Garden in Eden story a metaphor revealing we don't have free will and all things are predestined.

That means when I AM told the first creation’s man to have dominion (meaning exceed the ability) over earth and everything hereon it meant that man are to grow into that ability like caterpillars become butterflies and tadpoles become frogs. That’s the purpose for providing a second creation, to reveal those instructions are something to grow into and we didn’t understand what it meant until the Christ said "you must be born again." Yet he did not reveal what would happen but rather instructed us to wonder the earth over and observe all things without judging them.

So using tadpoles' becoming frogs we must conclude we have no free will.

I agree "Ecclesiastes thing I see as referring the human conditions" but not hearts. For every man to "reap what we sow" we have to experience everything we do to everyone else and what it felt like to those we did it to which is only done by reincarnating. So the earth goes through this material world and Revelation 21's alternant civilization eternally for us to continually reap and sow until all sowings arcade reaped then we are qualified to rapture to the next placed.

James A Watkins (author) from Chicago on April 02, 2019:

Elijah A Alexander Jr ~ Thank you very much for digging so deep into Scripture and providing your thoughtful exegesis. I agree that God made nothing evil and yet God did make us with Free Will and for free will to be free evil must be one of the choices we are allowed to make if we so choose to. And God does call evil evil in a million places in Scripture.

The Isaiah 45:7 is sometimes misunderstood. A better translation for that word 'evil' is calamity, judgment, adversity, affliction, distress. In other words, God has decreed the law of blessings and curses, of reaping and sowing, of evil results when we follow our own will and not His.

The Ecclesiastes thing I see as referring to the human heart or the human condition. The world changes all the time a round us but the human heart is the same as it has always been.

Elijah A Alexander Jr from Washington DC on March 31, 2019:

Well, well, well, James, a magnificent portrait of Satan's activities is the least I can say but because of my knowledge of things a majority of Bible believers overlook, have never read or completely ignore, I say that is ALSO about God.

To begin I will start with the name God provided Moses to use for liberating Israel from Egypt, I AM THAT I AM. That says that "God is the nomenclature everything is named." If that understanding be true, it means because God created all things and provided them names through man God made no thing evil, good, nor any other judgmental adjectives except the words themselves. for proof look at "the tree of the knowledge of good and evil." The tree's name is "knowledge" which suggest it has no physical manifestation and makes the knowledge be judgmental adjectives beginning with 'good and evil' although the first judgment recorded was "shame."

An "overlooked" statement is Isaiah 45:7, "I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the Lord do all these things." That ending phrase suggests I AM THAT I AM "do" all thing through us, after all we believe God is everywhere at al times.

A third thing I don't believe most see is everything is a never ending repetition of events. The first place we see it is Genesis 1:14s "Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs 'of earth's plight like' seasons, days and years [I paraphrased]." A second is Ecclesiastes 1:9s "The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun."

So I say existence's, if it functions as recorded, doing all things over and over exactly the same way is "the master puzzle" we human are to figure out before becoming "sons of god" as the implied at the great flood. And since your setting for Satan's activities is the United States look at how it was prophesied as the feet of Nebuchadnezzar's dream (Dan. 2:28-45) that would be the first nation destroyed before the rest of civilization is. Then read Rev. 17&18. In 17:11 we find "And the beast that was, and is not, even he is the eighth, and is of the seven, and goeth into perdition" where there is a nation that had been before the revealing of the revelation to John. That is followed by 17:15 revealing the feet of Nebuchadnezzar's dream as "The waters which thou sawest, where the whore sitteth, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues" that goes into prediction shows this civilization is in its finial days.

Dave McClure ~ Thank you for the clarification. Yes, the teachings of Jesus have long been quite useful for the world. I have always found it interesting that the Apostles addressed Jesus as Lord, except Judas Iscariot, who called him "teacher"—just as many people do today who deny the divinity of Christ.

Jesus was not killed because he said “Love your neighbor.” He was crucified because He claimed to be God Incarnate. The only men who have ever claimed to be God—besides Jesus—were confined to the loony bin. But no one supposes that Christ was a lunatic, do they? Not even modern critics who are Atheists think Jesus a half-witted imbecile. Christ is what a crazy person never is: full of wisdom.

It makes no sense to praise Jesus as a great teacher while rejecting that He is who He said He is. A great teacher of morals does not lie to his pupils, nor is he a lunatic who claims to be God if he isn’t. Jesus was certainly not the kind of person who had the proclivity to make up huge lies about Himself or anything else. Jesus was not deluded or suffering from hallucinations. But He did say that He and God the Father were one and the same. If we comprehend Jesus, we comprehend God the Father. He was crucified because He said He is divine. This is, in fact, the very essence of His message.

Jesus was resurrected from the dead. That single historical fact has altered the course of human events more than any other. The Jewish and Roman authorities had everything to gain by publicly displaying the body of Jesus—if they had it. Jesus became the first man to inhabit an imperishable spiritual body—the kind that is offered to us. The greatest event in human history was the Resurrection of Christ Jesus.

I don't what kind of 'apostate' churches you've been attending but my church, the Moody Church in Chicago, is spot on in its teachings, right in line with traditional, historic orthodoxy. You must have been to one of the old Mainline churches, like the Episcopalians, which are surely apostate. But there are plenty of solid Evangelical churches around. Things are probably pretty dark in Portland, in particular.

Americans have become proud and fat (literally) and have in a big way turned their backs on God, from whom all blessings flow. But the Gospel is flourishing in many parts of the world where the people are humble and not haughty.

I enjoyed reading your commentary and I agree with you. Thank you for the insightful correspondence.

Oh wow, I scrolled down the comments, surprised that there were so many - thinking you just published this - and found my own comment! Well, I had forgotten completely I had read this so here is my new commentary:

"To make all of these sinister plans work, the Devil would have to persuade tens of millions of people not to go to church; and influence churches to stop mentioning sin, hell and most of all--him."

I am most certainly one of those people that doesn't go to church, but I think that church is a bastardization of fellowship and teaching and in our day and age, a mostly apostate organization (organization in general). That being said, the greatest errors in churches and Christians today is a lack of Bible knowledge, and what emphasis is placed on Bible learning is usually paired with a Satanic version of the Bible like the NIV or the Message. And yes, I so very much agree with what you say about how Christians no longer preach the truth to others. When I find a pleasant coworker whom I discover is Christian, I almost never ever see them preaching the Gospel. In churches I have heard them speak about the difficulties of maintaining their integrity in the world and especially the workplace, but I see them getting along with their coworkers just fine. They are experts at being non-abrasive sheep, and are kind to everyone. I admire them for that. But I think the flip side is that they are comfortable with their lives, their jobs and their religion - they never confront anyone and whatever walk they have with God is one of slow growth and limited blessings. They make no effort to initiate conversations about God with others, always waiting for someone to come to them and directly ask them - if that ever happens because no one knows they are Christians.

This hit me years ago when I asked someone I worked with if they knew I was a Christian, and he said he had no idea. Obviously I was just like the rest of the world. What I have noticed since is that when I do talk about it, I feel the need to behave better as well. My life is incomplete unless I am being proactive for God. I really don't know how Christians can meekly get by without giving the Gospel to the people around them whenever the opportunities present themselves. I am very flawed, I sin, I cuss, I get frustrated and angry when I should have peace, but I would rather be me - someone who opens his mouth to spread the truth, someone who loves others enough to give them the saving truth. I am a terrible witness, but I would rather be a terrible witness than not witness at all and bury my talents in the ground.

"The Devil had to make sure the people had a multitude of distractions from the real meaning and purpose of life."

Yes! That is exactly the problem. People don't want to deal with Christ, with God because he has been dimished to the level of everything else in this world. Humanized even. If Christians don't know how to walk with the Spirit, then how can we expect the world to understand what a relationship with God even is? Everyone is involved in work, sports, family drama, media, politics and bills and toys and worries, so there is no room for God.

"To keep the people in perpetual adolescence,"

Yes again! The things people talk about at work is who is doing what and the latest trends in whatever circle they are in. The twenty year olds are perpetual ten year olds, hand fed by their parents and constantly influenced by their peers. What disturbs me the most is how they are fed information and propoganda and they accept it wholesale because they heard it from another friend, some of whom will betray them later and then the person wonders how that could have happened, but yet the misinformation given to them by circumspect friends is kept and believed in. No one wants to think, they just want to relax and have fun and have no stress while stressing about keeping up with modern culture. And of course the culture of easy sex, they flip from one partner to another. A date is often implied to be a simple avenue for sex.

"Women: stop being women. Be like men!"

Yep. Here in Portland, there are many women, especially younger ones who get a buzz cut and wear a very loose shirt and wear pants so they can appear to be a boy. It's disturbing and these people are literally mentally retarded - not because of bad genetics but because they have almost zero common sense. I think their conscience is seared. It really is awful when you see that and you know what they could be, how beautiful they can be.

"Let's revise the history of the United States to obscure the great blessings God has granted to this nation. "

Exactly. This liberal agenda has affected the minds of the young and impressionable and it is stunning to see the stupidity, however. how can we blame them when all they've been fed all their lives is this constant propoganda? I notice that even the Mexican immigrants have been influenced by this hatred for America, not even seeing the great things this country has done. I was commiserating with a Mexican coworker the other night about the lack of culture in America, but he went on to talk about how American has produced nothing but that they oppressed the native Americans and so on. I stopped him there and said that this country has produced much good for the world, sending out the most missionaries and so on. He didn't know what to say at that point. From a European perspective, there is a lack of civility and culture in this country and I see that, but America is a great Godly nation that has blessed the world with its prosperity and advancements and especially with the spreading of the Gospel. But I find it interesting that an immigrant would have this hardened attitude toward a country he came to willingly. How ignorant must one be to come to a prosperous nation for a better life and not acknowledge its greatness!

Dave McClure ~ Thank you for taking the time to read my little story. I appreciate your comments as well. I absolutely understand you have as much right as anyone else to be here and to try and make the world a better place. However, believing in Jesus is not a "superstition, ' which is "a belief or notion, not based on reason or knowledge." Worshipers of science love to claim that they follow facts while Christians have blind faith in fairy tales. But the Bible teaches that true faith is built on reason and evidence. The Bible, in both testaments, teaches us that it is important to test any truth claim. The scientific method, in fact, has its origins in Scripture.

Dave McClure from Worcester, UK on November 05, 2017:

Hi James, an interesting insight into the mindset of one whose world is largely supernatural. Can you understand that those of us who hold a naturalistic view of the world have just as much right to be here and to try to make it a better place, free of superstitions?

James A Watkins (author) from Chicago on November 05, 2017:

Betty J Murphy ~ Thank you. I might even publish a new Hub or two. For old times sake. ;)

Betty J Murphy from Richmond, Indiana, USA on April 02, 2015:

James, we should not give the evil one too much thought or time. I am sorry you were 'off' a short time and now back.

James A Watkins (author) from Chicago on April 02, 2015:

Betty J Murphy~ Thank you ever much for your encouraging words! You have made my day!! I am so glad you enjoyed my short story. I don't think Satan liked it and he wasn't the only one. His fans got this story thrown off the air for a while. :-)

Betty J Murphy from Richmond, Indiana, USA on April 02, 2015:

James, I truly enjoyed this article written off the top with no research! As always, you are concise and succinct providing an understanding on a simplistic level. Satan surely hated reading what you wrote about him and he hates the truth.

James A Watkins (author) from Chicago on February 11, 2013:

andromida— I surely agree with your wise comments, my friend. Yes indeed, as you said, "the presence of evil is visible everywhere." It is not hidden. It is out in the open. But now, good is called evil and evil is called good. People hear only what their itching ears want to hear. We are in serious trouble.

Thank you for reading my article. Spread the word.

syras mamun on February 06, 2013:

James, the presence of evil is visible everywhere and those(people) who have the real power to bring about the change are living in the dark, not interested in what is going on around them, knowingly or unknowingly. The dark prince has taken the easiest path to get control over the mass.

Michael-Milec---You are most welcome. I pray that God will bless you richly and that the Holy Spirit will guide you in the days to come. Thank you for your blessings and friendship. I value them as something precious.

Michael-Milec on February 03, 2013:

Thank you brother James for your kind and always encouraging words. To answer your question, ' where are your...' isn't so simple. This far somehove I've figured it out what and how to. The rest , well , trying to obtain more knowledge what to do next...

May God richly bless you. . .

James A Watkins (author) from Chicago on January 31, 2013:

Michael-Milec— Hello again, My Brother. Oh yes, I agree with you that a bold promotion of evil is on the increase. And getting more emboldened by the day, my friend. Repression, yes. It is here and it is coming.

We do need to witness to the Truth everywhere, yes we do indeed. Amen.

I hope my little articles have some meaning to some people. Thank you for taking the time to read my work and encourage me so. I surely appreciate the "Voted Up & Useful " as well as your blessings.

James :-)

ps Where are your first Hubs?

Michael-Milec on January 29, 2013:

Hello, James again.

For past five months ( since my visit here) , evidently a bold promotion of evil served under mean-spirited camouflage by " authorities" has been on increase .

Course of repression upon law abiding citizens successfully resulting in passivity, marching towards its goal.

Need for change , calls upon the righteous one, besides living righteously , also to speak loudly all the time, everywhere ( you mean market place, churches, family gatherings , some like this) ...

James brother you are in leading role even by reposing your meaningful hub articles . A hunger for positive impact ought to be satisfied.

Voted Up & useful.

May the God Almighty bless you and yours.

Shalom, brother

Jen Card— Greetings! Thank you so much for finding this old Hub of mine and letting me know you enjoyed reading it. At the time I wrote it I was quite proud of it—in a good way, not as in a 'pride goeth before the fall' way— but it never got the level of readership that many of my other articles did.

I am looking forward to reading your first Hub. By the way, I love that quote you posted for me in your excellent comments. And I am moved by this that you wrote, too: "there is no power to vanish the light of our Creator where love lives in the human experience."

Well said!

Hey! I used to be a hippy! :-)

I am well pleased to have provided a little spark of inspiration. I am grateful to you for the lovely laudations as well. And you are quite welcome.

God Bless You!

Jen Card on October 22, 2012:

Greetings James, I am still in study mode of these hub pages and articles before I write something of my own. This write up was powerful and left me with many things to ponder. I would like to mention this: "As dark as it may seem, we can never lose faith, for that is the only force that keeps darker days from victory" Mr. Watkins you have a gift and inspire. It is fellow human beings with true hearts (such as yours) that will bring back the balance of God's light. I don't believe there is any war, just harder and harder tests of our faiths. I make the choice to live by the belief that there is no power to vanish the light of our Creator where love lives in the human experience. I am not talking some hippy free love, what I speak of is a moral true love of God and mankind in all its creations. Thank you very much for sharing your gift and this article. I am inspired.

James A Watkins (author) from Chicago on August 11, 2012:

Michael-Milec— Welcome to the HubPages Community! Please let me know if you publish any Hubs of your own and I will gladly come over to read them.

You have made my day with your gracious laudations. I could not be happier at your response to my article. Of the Hubs I have published, I think this is one of the most important but it did not get near the readership that the majority of my work did.

I totally agree with your analysis of the situation and your remarks show wisdom that can only be discerned by a Spirit filled Soul. God Bless You Brother!

Thank you for taking the time to read my article. I sincerely appreciate the compliments, affirmation, encouragement, and your blessings.

Michael-Milec on August 02, 2012:

James A Watkins, this is God speaking to us directly through you.

The truth you've presenting is a message needed to be republished so often until the most of the readers

will know about it, talk about it and do with it whatever is needed to exposed the invasion of the evil into every part of our social structure.

The core of the morality is being destroyed by this evil- marxistic program pushed upon the children in public educational institutions, likewise other "preaching" -- like institution go along with the government agenda; what left are the voices of godly parents and grandparents to be vocal of this articles message to prevent further decay of formerly godly country.

May you be blessed continually and also a blessing , as you already are.

With much respect, MichaEL

Welcome to the Hub Pages Community. I look forward to reading some of your writings soon.

docbruin— Thank you very much for the accolades! I sincerely appreciate you reading my article and letting me know how much you like it. Why, you have made my day! :)

I will come by to see what you've been writing soon. Welcome to the HubPages Community!

MercyGrace from USA on September 09, 2011:

What a fantastic hub! It's so scary and true. Look at what we've become.

I have friends in Europe that actually think my faith is funny. They tell me they look at the US as young and naïve to believe so much. Your story says that very well.

docbruin on September 09, 2011:

This is an awesome hub that everyone should read! The path that America, and the rest of the world, is on cannot be pleasing to God. I really like the way you wrote this. The message couldn't be more clear. If only more people would listen. Great hub!

James A Watkins (author) from Chicago on November 18, 2010:

CMerritt— Thanks for coming back and giving it another shot. I appreciate it. You're not all wet. There could well be some correlation. It would not surprise me now. The very suggestion would have shocked me thirty years ago.

Chris Merritt from Pendleton, Indiana on November 18, 2010:

James, I just re read this, and it made me think and ponder. I am an eternal optimist. The analogy of Job, makes me wonder, IF, there is a correlation between those who still value our Forefathers plan and intent, with regards of placing God first and foremost, as did Job?

I may be all wet with this one, and I am rambling.

just a thought though...

James A Watkins (author) from Chicago on November 11, 2010:

BDazzler— That's amazing! I agree wholeheartedly that his work is inspired by God. He is a godly man. Check out this organization Eric Metaxas co-founded, that I am a part of:

Thanks for getting back to me. I will tell him about you. God Bless You!

BDazzler from Gulf Coast, USA on November 10, 2010:

Yep, that's the one I'm reading. I have only said this about a handful of people ... I believe that his work is truly Inspired by God.

I gave that book to my dad for Christmas and he read it twice. Then he gave it to the woman next door who is from Germany. She was a very young girl who's family helped the Allies .. she married one of our GIs and came back to live in the states.

She didn't know a lot of the stuff that was there. It was like giving her a piece of herself back after all these years.

Tell him thank you.

James A Watkins (author) from Chicago on November 10, 2010:

BDazzler— Are you reading Bonhoeffer by Eric Mextaxas!? He is a friend of mine!

I surely agree with your assessment. Satan can be seen at many points in history. And the one you pointed out is certainly one.

I always enjoy your comments. You encourage and inspire me. Thank you.

BDazzler from Gulf Coast, USA on November 10, 2010:

Patterns and cycles ... as you can see from some of my other comments, I'm currently reading Bonhoeffer's biography. One of the patterns I saw in Europe was how Satan infiltrated and corrupted the German church and leadership the same way he corrupted the Sanhedrin in the first century.

As with Europe, we are being shaken, so that which is unshakable will stand. It will be interesting to see what's left.

James A Watkins (author) from Chicago on October 23, 2010:

CMerritt— I agree with Ronald Reagan, perhaps the greatest American since George Washington. I am well pleased that you appreciate my story here. Thank you for the lovely compliments. You are quite welcome. :-)

Chris Merritt from Pendleton, Indiana on October 22, 2010:

I think Reagan summed it up best..."If we ever forget that we are One Nation Under God, then we will be a Nation gone under."

I have yet to find a hub of yours that was not interesting to me, but this one, I particuarly like very well. I have stong feelings pertaining to this.

Thanks again James.

James A Watkins (author) from Chicago on October 22, 2010:

HealthyHanna— Any comparison made of my humble writings with the awesome Screwtape Letters is quite flattering. Thank you very much for reading this Hub. I am reminded of the quote from Edmund Burke:

"All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing"

James A Watkins (author) from Chicago on October 22, 2010:

Alexander Mark— I am blown away by the perceptiveness of your comments, my brother. I am non-demoninational but my grandma was a fundamental Baptist.

I just love your insightful words, especially this:

"I think that even though America has failed the test, our trials are polishing the faithful to shine brighter than ever before. This is the time to learn to love and bless the unlovable and those that despise us."

HealthyHanna from Utah on October 21, 2010:

It is not too late. Our actions now can make a difference, but apathy will kill us. We need to wake up and look at history, because history does repeat itself.

This short story reminds me of C S Lewis's book The Screwtape Letters.

Alexander Silvius from Portland, Oregon on October 21, 2010:

Oh man, this rocked my heart. If I didn't know better, I'd say you were an independent fundamental Baptist. So grateful to you for saying it how it is.

I just had a small Facebook war with a homosexual friend who posted that we should all stand up against violence against homosexuals AND ACCEPT that they are "born this way". I couldn't keep my mouth shut and two of his friends showed their true intolerant colors.

The point of this little story is that when you replaced the challenge of Job's dedication with America's situation, it became clear to me that there are very few of us left who believe the way you do, and those of us who do need to shout all the louder when called to speak, and show more of God's love than ever before. Jesus was often surrounded by huge masses of people who hated him and abused him, today is quickly becoming the same.

I think that even though America has failed the test, our trials are polishing the faithful to shine brighter than ever before. This is the time to learn to love and bless the unlovable and those that despise us.

It is not just in the US UK etc that our civil rights are being taken away James. It is here in Aus also. Since the atrocities of 9-11 and on it seems all Governments are running scared. Not only have they taken away our rights to worship God freely, this year our local city would not allow Christmas decorations to be put in the street because in the last couple of years the Shire has allowed about 50 muslims into our 4000 people town and don't want to risk offending them. At the same time they allowed the first lesbian marriage to take place in the same part of town. I do not blame the local muslims but the City Shire and town Council who want to appear to be caring for and respecting the rights of the new Immigrants. What about our countries rights? Keep up the great work, I'm with you. Blessings.

Howdy JAW

I was just going through this hub and thought about my own country RSA, and notice the Parallel that is taking place, and, one comes to the conclusion that it is a Satanic conspiracy on all nations, not just the USA. The amount of disinformation and lies that the world believes is beyond measure.

Fortunately if it was not for meeting up with Jesus Christ many years ago, I would most likely be a deceived member of the world.
