Peter Ruckman leaves behind some very dangerous Bible teaching.
Introduction
Again, here in Part 2, I want to preface this article by saying this is not an attack on an individual but. an effort to expose the harmful false doctrine that Peter Ruckman has taught through the years. I'm what they call, "one of those narrow-minded, Bible-believing Christians." I take the Bible at face value. I don't read into what's not written, nor do I take away from what is written. For me, the Bible, as it is written, is the final word.
Will the real Peter Ruckman please stand up?
Genesis 3:1 tells us that satan is subtle and slick. II Corinthians tells us that satan himself can appear as an angel of light. Ephesians 4:14 gives us the warning to no be ". . . carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; " Just because something sounds good, check it out for yourself. It may be arsenic - 90% good stuff and 10% poison, and we know what the 10% does.
It's nice to know that many of you have never heard of this man before. You're free from his twisted teachings. But I have become aware lately, that there are followers of Ruckman's teachings, at least to some degree, within a close proximity of my church. As a pastor to the dear folks God has given me, I must warn them of the danger in this man's teaching. Whether you have heard of him or not, I'm just placing a warning for you as well, to beware.
Signs of a Cult Leader
Peter Ruckman, as mentioned in Part 1 of this article, fits the description of a cult leader, although he is considered mainstream by most. That makes him all the more dangerous. We saw that Mr. Ruckman believed he had knowledge that no other person had - a special direct revelation from God belonging to him alone. Another thing common among cult leaders is the mocking and ridiculing of those who don't accept their way of teaching.
This is done for a purpose. By ridiculing others, it plants in the mind of the followers a sense of fear, lest they also are made a shameful, public example if they dare to disagree The fear ensures the follower will stay loyal to the cult leader. In a slightly different sense, it holds the same idea of that of the molester who says, "Now, don't tell anybody I hurt you, Or I'll kill your mommy and daddy." What's a child to do? They may instinctively know the action against them is wrong, but fear keeps them from exposing the violence.
Lest someone accuse me of being a hatemonger like Ruckman, let me say I have never called any of my adversary's any of the following names that Ruckman uses. I don't even call Mr. Ruckman by these names. Taken from his own speech, this is how Ruckman talks about those of a different belief (I apologize for any offensive terms, but let Peter Ruckman speak).
"Some of the names he uses to refer to men who disagree with him are 'jackass,' 'poor, dumb, stupid red legs,' 'silly asses,; 'apostolic succession of bloated egotists,' 'two-bit junkies,' 'two-faced, tin-horned punks,' 'incredible idiots,; 'egotistical jack legs,' 'conservative asses whose brains have gone to seed,; 'cheap, two-bit punks,' and 'stupid, little, Bible-rejecting apostates.” (Satan’s Masterpiece--the New ASV, p. 67). In The Unknown Bible, p. 100,
God Made Me Do It - Oh, Really?
The truly sad thing about this is that he credits God for his foul mouth. Again in his own words, he says, “God called me to sit at this typewriter and pour forth vinegar, acid, vitriol, and cleaning fluid, on the leading conservative and fundamental scholars of 1900 through 1990. ... God is in charge. He . . . destines me to sit at this typewriter and lambaste, scald and ridicule these Bible rejecting fundamentalists who ‘believe the Bible is the Word of God,’ . . . I hereby dedicate myself anew to the task of destructive criticism and negative blasting against every adversary of that Holy Book...” (The Bible Believers Bulletin, Dec. 1985).
Did I Hear That Right?
Wait a minute. Did I hear that right? "God is in charge . . . these Bible rejecting fundamentalists who believe the Bible is the Word of God. . . " Yes, God is in charge, but what kind of double talk is that? One either rejects the Bible or believes the Bible to be the Word of God, but you can't do both at the same time. Can you say, "forked tongue?" Scripture tells us in Ephesians 4 that are to speak unto edification to build up the children of God. Absolutely nowhere are we told to lambaste, scald and ridicule. Nowhere are we told to spew out destructive criticism and negative blasting. This man has tragically missed the mark. He has no idea of what Christianity is about but yet claims that he has a special revelation from God.
It would seem that Mr. Ruckman, although he claims to know the Scriptures better than any other man since the beginning of the 1900s, forgot one important Bible verse - Ephesians 4:15, which tells us to speak ". . . the truth in love, [that we] may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:" One of the signs of a Christian according to the Bible is that we are to exhibit love for all. Mr. Ruckman continually shows forth his hate for anybody who might question him.That is another sign of a cult leader. The follower is held under his spell because of the fear of rejection.
If Mr. ruckman is following the Bible as he claims, he must also deal with James 3:13-17 - “Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom. But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth. This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish. For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work. But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be entreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.”
Ruckman will answer before God for his unfaithful and prideful interpretation of the Scriptures. This verse along with Ephesians 4:15 condemns the cultic teachings of Ruckmanism. Let God be true. Ruckman displays an earthly, sensual, and devilish attitude. This kind of preaching may be entertaining, but it certainly isn't Godly. Notice that in the above verse that heavenly wisdom is peaceable. Hmm?
Let's consider another verse. 2 Timothy 2:24-26 says: “And the servant of the Lord must not strive but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient, in meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth; and that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.”
Jesus Preaching to the Pharisees
There is no doubt that Jesus, Peter, Paul and others used strong language against the enemies of the Gospel. Paull condemned false teaching in Acts 13:9, 10. Jesus spoke harshly to the Pharisees in Matthew 23. None of the words come close to the words of Ruckman, Study it out for yourself. These men approached the problem with a meek spirit of wisdom. They didn't sit at a typewriter and spew and spew. A further study of Scripture will also show that Jesus, Paul, and others dealt differently with the saved and unsaved. Jesus spoke differently to the hypocritical Pharisees than he did to His own disciples.Ruckman fries everyone except those who kiss his ring.
The Apostle Pauls takes the time in Galatians 5:22, 23 to show us the fruit of a Holy Spirit-filled life. " But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law." By Ruckman's own words, we can see the lack of Holy Spirit leading in his life. He does not exhibit love, longsuffering (patience), gentleness, goodness, meekness or temperance (self-control). That we can clearly see, but did he have joy or peace? In such a life of hate, I find it hard to believe. Only Ruckman knew. Did he have faith? That is the question we will deal with in the next installment coming soon. Stay with me.

Peter Ruckman is clearly a false prophet by Scripural standards. Don't be caught in his web of lies.

“Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. You will know them by their fruits" ~ Matthew 7:15 -16
Emphasis on the word "ravenous" seems relative to the topic and appears that Mr. Ruckman was outwardly ravenous.
Jesus warning "Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees" comes to mind as well. That prideful puffed up religiosity is something we all need to be wary of.

Joel Osteen always ends his message with a prayer of salvation, in which he invites listeners to repeat after him, the words of acceptance of Jesus Christ, then he tells us to find a faith based church to attend. The main reason I like him is that he doesn't put any domination above the other, after all, the church is just a place to worship, love in the heart for all people is God's will. He is definitely a false prophet and should be avoided like the plague. One thing I've noticed about Osteen is I have never heard him give a clear testimony of salvation - just an observance. As always, I'm glad you were able to stop by!

The bible teaches us to be aware of false profits. I do not listen to any preacher who uses words like Ruckman, or runs down a church because they are different. To me God is love, and we're to speak kindly with love. I like to watch and listen to Joel Osteen. He loves everyone. Thank you for telling us about this man..Peace..

Ruckman's language and his sense of exclusivity with God makes him suspect. No man is perfect and if he thinks he is while he is indulging in these questionable types of behavior, I wish to avoid him and his teachings. Thanks for the information.

It is sickening how Satan takes hold of men like Ruckman and corrupts them through their most prominent weakness and sin - Pride. Ruckman was his own god. Sometimes, but not always, when the cult leader dies their followers and twisted doctrine die out in time. But even if they do, there are hundreds of other types of Ruckman's out there, spreading heresy and worshiping and glorifying themselves and intimidating people into remaining under their control. There is another cult leader I read of that I can't remember his name that had a similar strategy. Hateful speech and anyone that dared cross him got nothing but hate and vitriol.
Then you have the Joel Osteen types who are so squeeky clean on the outside and filthy rich in the bank accounts. They are slick with their touchy feely sounds good mantras. Osteen wrote a book titled The Power of I Am: Two words that will change your life. I haven't read it but the title alone dangles the carrot of pride and power in ones self. I can't comment on it's content.
We could list hundreds of creepos like Ruckman. But worse than his, and those like him's cunning strategy, the people who are duped are duped because they are not looking for truth, don't know the truth, and are looking for men to lead them, or their looking for some unhealthy experience.
