Passion Fruit

Spiritual Passion Fruit Is Available All Year Long

There are some wonderful fruits that are good all year long. Others are seasonal and available during certain seasons throughout the year. However, the purple passion fruit that is native to southern Brazil through Paraguay to northern Argentina is quite delicious. It is also widely grown in California. It is available in a plethora of varieties as well. What a splendid vigorous vine like climbing plant. Pruning is necessary to keep the vine within bounds. It prefers a frost- free environment and they are known to be usually quite tasty when well watered.

The vines of Palestine were celebrated for the huge luxurious clusters of grapes they produced. Vine is also used often as a metaphor in the scriptures to represent happiness and peace. The vine is a valuable plant often referenced to in both the Old and New Testaments. The first time a vine is mentioned is in Genesis. When Moses sent the twelve spies into the “Promised Land” one of the things that they noticed was, the huge humongous grapes that were growing on the vine. They brought some back as a demonstration to show that “It is a good land that the Lord our God is giving us.” Fruit is used to illustrate many principles throughout the scriptures.

The True Vine

There is a rare wonderful passion fruit in particular that I want to focus upon. It also comes from the vine as well. This fruit is available all year long all throughout the year and its readily available. It is non perishable, nourishing and helps you to also grow spiritually healthy. All in all this Vine yields the best passion fruit possible. However, in order to become accustomed to the quintessence of this valuable fruit one must be prepared to get used to painful personal pruning. In order for it to flourish you must stay astutely connected to the True Vine. This fruit then naturally becomes manifested in one’s daily life. Your passion for God is rekindled and ignited. This is so when we stay connected to God who is The True Vine.

Please do not confuse passion for Christ as lust. You can have a healthy desire to stay connected to the Lord in a spiritual intimate relationship. He can and will fulfil you spiritually and emotionally. He can remove any voids you might have.

Webster defines passion; an intense driving, or overmastering feeling or conviction. Ardent affection; strong liking or desire towards the object or activity. "The Passion of Christ" is known as the sufferings the night of His "Last Supper" up until the time before His heinous crucifixtion and death. This involved a time of intense prayer, meditation and suffering that displayed His passion for what lie ahead.

Spiritual Growth

In order to become successful spiritually, personally as well as professionally one must have a passion for whatever it is they are doing! This is also where your motivation comes from. To persevere through the pruning or whatever other obstacles arise you will emerge victoriously.

Know that GOD is omniscient and always willing to help us. As you learn to choose HIS Will & Way above all your will experience HIS peace that surpasses the understanding of man and woman. Live each day to please GOD. I assure you that He will or can give you a strong: "Solid Rock Foundation".

To acquire this particular spiritual passion fruit you must first have a sincere desire to stay connected to the Vine. Jesus Christ is that Vine! John says “I am the true Vine, and my Father is the Gardener. He cuts off every branch in Me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit He prunes, so that it will be even more fruitful." Here is what The Word of God says about this passion Fruit; “But the Fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control..." Galatians 5 " O taste and see that the Lord is good, Blessed is the man that trusts in HIM.” Psalm 34

Life is a precious "GIFT" from GOD

Everyday is a precious gift. We can rejoice knowing that the Lord is Omnipresent and His Comforter; His Holy Spirit is always available everywere we are or go to HELP US!

A very lovely hub. My father use to grow grape vines, but a freeze killed the vines. Grape vines are a real joy to grow, but they sure do attract a lot of bees. God Bless you dear heart. A wonderful enjoyable hub. Beautiful pictures and photographs.

Zenani on December 15, 2009:

Beautiful. There by the grace of God go I. I have gone through the season of being pruned and one time, real pruning but in looking back, it was from then that I bore the best fruit. Wonderful analogy there and great uplifting Hub. Now I await each season of pruning with expectation instead of dread for the Father is not only merciful He is gracious.

Elder DeBorrah K Ogans (author) on October 29, 2009:

Morewrite, God does allow tests in our lives. But it is during those tests we must keep in mind that He is always near, waiting for us to reach out to Him. Therefore daily we ask to be filled by His precious Holy Spirit; HIS Comforter!

Yes, you are right there is Always Light at the end of the tunnel. "His Word is a Lamp unto our feet and a Light unto our path..." It has been a pleasure! We must always remember; He is LIGHT and He has promised to "Never leave nor forsake us." Thank you for your wonderful comments. Please come again. Blessings!

morewrite on October 29, 2009:

DeBorrah, this are great encouraging words.

I myself believe in perseverance. I also believe in staying strong and never giving up no matter what comes towards you. God puts many tests in our lives to help us become stronger, I have endured many tests throughout my life and will always continue on up holding the name of the Lord Jesus Christ for he is the light at the end of the tunnel. We need to continue following it until we truely find our passion fruit... (His word)

God bless...Have a great day!....

You are inspired for sure. I think it is so precious that there are many seed planters on hubb pages. God is doing a mighty work.

Thank you for your encouraging words on my hub. I know God was answering me. I was feeling a bit insecure and your comment settled the matter. The enemy was trying to sneak in and be his lying nature. I know better. I am a works in progress. God is so wonderful how he speaks to us.

Lady E

Thank you! Be encouraged and just know a simple unspoken "Lord Help" keeps one connected. The pressures are to draw you even closer, cultivate patience or perhaps maybe a little pruning? Come again your visits are always welcome...

Elena from London, UK on September 08, 2009:

Thanks for another encouraging Word for today. May God help us to continually abide in the Vine as sometimes due to cares/pressures of life - its easy to shift focus and then lose connection. God Bless.

Regards, E.
