Lord, Let Me Not Be Ashamed of My Hope (Part 7)

Over three decades ago I become interested in the Bible, having drank from the heavenly cup once, I have not been tired to drink more

ix) Outsiders:

By outsiders I mean someone that does not know the person from Adam’s, a completely strange people. Such people could be used of God to assist, bless and promote a man. We read of account of Jesus in the bible how he interacted with the Samaritan woman; this Samaritan woman was used by God to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus to the people of her town after their brief conversation. (Jh 4; Gen. 41:9ff)

Bible students will also recall that Joseph and Chief butler were not family members, what brought them together was prison custody. This man, Chief Butler was the one used for Joseph by God to bring Joseph to the palace, to change his story.

x) Ministers of God (or Ministers of Satan):

Ministers of God (or ministers of Satan) can be used to promote a person, to tell the important people in the society about a person. This was what Prophet Elisha was inferring to when he saw how the Rich Shunammite woman was taken care of him and his servant.

“2Ki 4:12 And he said to Gehazi his servant, Call this Shunammite. And when he had called her, she stood before him.

2Ki 4:13 And he said unto him, Say now unto her, Behold, thou hast been careful for us with all this care; what is to be done for thee? wouldest thou be spoken for to the king, or to the captain of the host? And she answered, I dwell among mine own people.”

xi) Kings/Presidents:

Kings can also be used to tell of a person to some other people in the society. King Jehoshaphat does not know the person called prophet Micaiah, it was King Ahab that was used by God to tell his colleague, King Jehoshaphat about this prophet. (1 King 22)

xii) Servants:

Servants are also used of God to tell about someone to another person, thereby increasing the fame of the person. The Maid and slave that waited on Naaman’s wife was the one who told Naaman’s wife about Prophet Elisha, that Naaman would be restored if he can get to the man of God.

“2Ki 5:2 And the Syrians had gone out by companies, and had brought away captive out of the land of Israel a little maid; and she waited on Naaman's wife.

2Ki 5:3 And she said unto her mistress, Would God my lord were with the prophet that is in Samaria! for he would recover him of his leprosy.

2Ki 5:4 And one went in, and told his lord, saying, Thus and thus said the maid that is of the land of Israel.”

b) Establishments/Companies:

Some people’s uplifting, sustaining and promotions come through the establishments they belong to.

i) Churches; There are churches, fellowships, groups etc. that have branches all over the locality and or the world, through such establishments; some people have gotten their fame and upliftment. Example of such is this HubPages, some of us through this medium have been able to reach the uttermost parts of the world. Where we may likely never get to on earth, through HupPages, our works have reached the place and will continue to spread as long as internet is in use and the world is in existence.

Through the ancient church Saul who has just been converted got a name for himself before his fame soar. He has someone called Barnabas who approved of him and introduced him to the church to be accepted having studied that he has been touched by Jesus Christ.

“Act 9:27 But Barnabas took him, and brought him to the apostles, and declared unto them how he had seen the Lord in the way, and that he had spoken to him, and how he had preached boldly at Damascus in the name of Jesus.

Act 9:28 And he was with them coming in and going out at Jerusalem.

Act 9:29 And he spake boldly in the name of the Lord Jesus, and disputed against the Grecians: but they went about to slay him.

Act 9:30 Which when the brethren knew, they brought him down to Caesarea, and sent him forth to Tarsus.

Act 9:31 Then had the churches rest throughout all Judaea and Galilee and Samaria, and were edified; and walking in the fear of the Lord, and in the comfort of the Holy Ghost, were multiplied. ”

ii) Departments: Some people’s uplifting come through their department. Paul and Barnabas have been together for a while after being approved of the apostles, they were one of the teachers around, that was the department they belong to. While praying through the Holy Ghost, they have been set aside for the greater work ahead of them.

“Act 13:1 Now there were in the church that was at Antioch certain prophets and teachers; as Barnabas, and Simeon that was called Niger, and Lucius of Cyrene, and Manaen, which had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch, and Saul.

Act 13:2 As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them.”

It is the department to which some people belong that would recognize them for greater honor in the world.

iii) Sports: We have seen some people whose skills in sports have pave way for them among the crème-de-la-crème in the society today. Such people have stand out tall among their peers because they are good in what they are doing. (1 Cor. 9:24-26)

c) Town/State/Nation/Continent/World: Some because of their role in the society and or what they know how to do best have become uplifted among the people. Goliath is an example of such people whose nation has promoted because of what he can do. The Philistine knew what he was capable of and he was promoted to such status. (1 Sam 17)

Joseph also was a man that the country of Egypt promoted to the highest position in the land. (Gen. 41:39ff

7) Some of the Things of Note About Lifting Up:

Certain points of interest need to be taken note of on this lifting up

i) Every human on earth struggle to be promoted or uplifted in whatsoever they are doing,

ii) Though all humans want to be promoted or lifted up, but it is not every human being that is lifted up,

iii) There is no one that is lifted up on earth that Almighty God has no knowledge about, whether the person is follower of Christ or not,

“1Sa 2:7 The LORD maketh poor, and maketh rich: he bringeth low, and lifteth up.

1Sa 2:8 He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, and lifteth up the beggar from the dunghill, to set them among princes, and to make them inherit the throne of glory: for the pillars of the earth are the LORD'S, and he hath set the world upon them.”

“Psa 75:6 For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south.

Psa 75:7 But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another.”
