Over three decades ago I become interested in the Bible, having drank from the heavenly cup once, I have not been tired to drink more

6) Vessel Being Used for Uplifting /Promotion

One of the definitions of vessels is this, they are ducts or canals conveying something example fluids.

The vessel that God uses in bringing about the promotion/lifting is humans. The powers lifting up people work through the spirits, but the spirits cannot be seen. Since the spirits cannot be seen, to effect this promotion or lifting, those spirits will work through humans to bring about the needful changes.

However, in bringing about these changes, three different means can be employed, thence I have divided this means into three sub-categories which are as follow:

a) Individualism (or Singly),

b) Establishments/Companies

c) Town/State/Nation/Continent/World

I will want us to see these subheadings one after the other.

a) Individuals (Singly):

The vessel being employed for someone’s promotion could be an individual and the examples are as follow

i) Father/Mother:

Bathsheba the mother of King Solomon was alongside others the vessels used by God to bring Solomon to the throne of Israel.

“1Ki 1:11 Wherefore Nathan spake unto Bathsheba the mother of Solomon, saying, Hast thou not heard that Adonijah the son of Haggith doth reign, and David our lord knoweth it not?

1Ki 1:15 And Bathsheba went in unto the king into the chamber: and the king was very old; and Abishag the Shunammite ministered unto the king.

1Ki 1:16 And Bathsheba bowed, and did obeisance unto the king. And the king said, What wouldest thou?

1Ki 1:17 And she said unto him, My lord, thou swarest by the LORD thy God unto thine handmaid, saying, Assuredly Solomon thy son shall reign after me, and he shall sit upon my throne.

1Ki 1:18 And now, behold, Adonijah reigneth; and now, my lord the king, thou knowest it not:

1Ki 1:19 And he hath slain oxen and fat cattle and sheep in abundance, and hath called all the sons of the king, and Abiathar the priest, and Joab the captain of the host: but Solomon thy servant hath he not called.

1Ki 1:20 And thou, my lord, O king, the eyes of all Israel are upon thee, that thou shouldest tell them who shall sit on the throne of my lord the king after him.

1Ki 1:21 Otherwise it shall come to pass, when my lord the king shall sleep with his fathers, that I and my son Solomon shall be counted offenders.

1Ki 1:22 And, lo, while she yet talked with the king, Nathan the prophet also came in.”

Mary the mother of Jesus was used for Jesus to speak to people of Israel of what he can do.

“Joh 2:2 And both Jesus was called, and his disciples, to the marriage.

Joh 2:3 And when they wanted wine, the mother of Jesus saith unto him, They have no wine.

Joh 2:4 Jesus saith unto her, Woman, what have I to do with thee? mine hour is not yet come.

Joh 2:5 His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it.”

ii) Siblings:

Siblings can be used of God to lift someone up. The siblings of Jephthah were the ones used to promote him. Though he was once rejected and forsaken by them, but they reconsider their stand when they were in trouble. (Jdg. 11)

iii) Friends:

Jonathan was a friend of David, this Jonathan was used of God to defend and speak good things about David even before his father the King. (1 Sam. 18)

iv) Leaders:

Some people’s lifting come up through their leaders. It may be leaders of their fellowship, offices, etc. john the Baptist was the leader of his ministry, “herald of Messiah’s appearance ministry” while on earth and he was the one who showed the people especially those following him who Jesus was while on earth.

“Joh 1:29 The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.

Joh 1:30 This is he of whom I said, After me cometh a man which is preferred before me: for he was before me.

Joh 1:31 And I knew him not: but that he should be made manifest to Israel, therefore am I come baptizing with water.

Joh 1:32 And John bare record, saying, I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it abode upon him.”

v) One’s Children: On some occasions one’s child may be the one that God will use to lift the parents up. Queen Esther was a foster daughter of Mordecai, she was an example of a child whom God uses to lift his parent up.

“Est 2:21 In those days, while Mordecai sat in the king's gate, two of the king's chamberlains, Bigthan and Teresh, of those which kept the door, were wroth, and sought to lay hand on the king Ahasuerus.

Est 2:22 And the thing was known to Mordecai, who told it unto Esther the queen; and Esther certified the king thereof in Mordecai's name.

Est 2:23 And when inquisition was made of the matter, it was found out; therefore they were both hanged on a tree: and it was written in the book of the chronicles before the king.”

She did not report the incident in her name to win more accolades for herself before her husband as a wife who is protecting her husband, the King, but she reported the incident on the name of her foster father, her uncle, who brought the thing to her, because he, Mordecai, did not know who he can trust to report the incident to when he became privy of the planned coup of the people.

However, he knows he can trust his foster daughter, his niece, thence he took the matter to her who accordingly briefed her husband.

The investigation panel set up to look into the matter found out that the case was true and the report was documented in the book of remembrance of the King.

“Est 6:1 On that night could not the king sleep, and he commanded to bring the book of records of the chronicles; and they were read before the king.

Est 6:2 And it was found written, that Mordecai had told of Bigthana and Teresh, two of the king's chamberlains, the keepers of the door, who sought to lay hand on the king Ahasuerus.”

Through the records it was discovered that the king hasn’t rewarded Mordecai for what he has done and he decided that he needs to be rewarded, this was the beginning of his exaltation in the land.
