The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, whose members are commonly known as Mormons, have a gift for the world… Leaders of the Mormon Church have recently announced a new website: The Life of Jesus Christ Bible Videos. is a treasury for original short videos that faithfully follow the text of the King James Version of the Bible in telling the story of the life of Christ -- ranging from the angel foretelling the birth of Jesus Christ to the Savior’s resurrection. When the project is complete, it will contain more than 100 free Bible videos depicting the life of Jesus Christ. The desire of The Church of Jesus Christ is to share the gospel of Jesus Christ by assembling a collection of free Bible videos, to be among the finest in the world.

Another great feature of the LDS Bible Video Website is the option to share these videos through Google+, Facebook or Twitter. In the future you will be able to send a video as an e-card, along with a personal message.

Not only is the LDS Church encouraging their own members to freely use these beautiful Bible videos in their homes and church lessons, but they also hope that those of other Christian denominations will enjoy and use them as well. Jerusalem Movie Set - LDS Motion Pictures Studio

From LDS Church News and Events about new Bible Videos website:

“It is our hope that these New Testament videos will help people to visualize what they have only been able to imagine, and to more deeply feel the truths of the New Testament as they witness the Savior’s life and not just as they read about it, “ Elder Robbins said. “Hopefully, there will be entirely new insights into the Savior’s character that will help viewers feel of His love and inspire them to want to be more like Him.”

The website has a mobile-friendly design and is available in English (, Spanish (, and Portuguese (

The Life of Christ Bible Videos - Behind the Scenes

Also interesting is the great lengths that the LDS Church is going to in order to produce these quality and spirit filled Bible videos for the New Testament Scripture Library Project -- which began filming in August of 2011. In order to accomplish the goal of creating as authentic as possible Bible videos, the Church built a new LDS Motion Picture Studio South Campus in Goshen, Utah, where they literally recreated scenes from ancient Jerusalem!

The set includes 830 acres of Church property -- a square-mile area -- near the town of Goshen, Utah. According to Church News, "The Goshen property can double as plains or rolling hills and even boast some sand dunes and a stream that with some work will resemble the River Jordan. The land was also perfect for what it didn't have -- large rocks, long stretches of flatland and lots of sagebrush." Whatever is lacking on the site will be digitally created, such as the Jerusalem temple.

Thus far the Church has filmed 47 scenes at this location and has plans to film more than 50 additional scenes in 2012. Filming for phase II of the project will begin Spring 2012. Most of the videos range from 3-5 minutes in length, intended for easy viewing and sharing. Eventually all of these videos will be added to the new website: The Life of Jesus Christ Bible Videos.

My Personal Review of the LDS Bible Video website and iPad App

Now that I’ve given you all of the general information about The Life of Jesus Christ Bible Videos website, I’d like to share some of my personal thoughts about this project... I’ve spent quite sometime watching each Bible video produced so far. I’ve also downloaded the free Bible videos app onto my iPad – and all I can say is wow! I can tell you, sincerely, that although this project is in the beginning stages, it is clear that this is an amazing undertaking by the LDS Church, and worth your time to check it out. Seeing that it is currently the Christmas season, this is a wonderful time for the LDS Church to have launched the new website – as the project begins with the New Testament account of the birth of Jesus Christ. This really is a lovely gift to all those who love Jesus Christ and worship Him as Savior and Redeemer!

One thing I particularly appreciate in the making of each of these Bible videos is that no liberties were taken in how they might be interpreted. In fact, there is much more visual than audio in the videos – which enables the ability of each individual to reflect personally, on what the account means. Each short video is with integrity produced, in that it is true to the text of the King James Version of the Bible. Meaning that regardless of what Christian denomination you belong, you will feel the spirit of the actual scriptural account, through the Holy Spirit. And this is exactly as the videos are intended to be.

I particularly love the Bible Video App! It is absolutely beautiful, with scriptural text, the videos, and inspiring photos of various biblical accounts. I spent a few hours just immersing myself in the journey of reliving the birth of Jesus Christ and the many scriptural accounts of this miraculous event as recorded in the Bible. This will evolve into a wonderfully rich app for studying the life of Jesus Christ. It’s good to know that the app will be available, soon, on other platforms.

I believe that this is a website you will want to share with anyone who loves Jesus Christ, and treasures the scriptural accounts of His matchless life contained in the Bible.

@Dave Mathews -

And that is what makes all true Christians, One. Thank you.

Dave Mathews from NORTH YORK,ONTARIO,CANADA on December 22, 2011:

LdsNana: Here is a thought I would have you ponder. You are "Christian" / Mormon, I am "Christian" / Catholic

What is the key word here?

What is the similarity regardless of denomination?

JOHN: 14:6; says it all, as Jesus speaks.

"I AM, the Way, the Truth, and the Life, no man, cometh unto The Father, but by ME."

Jesus referencing himself as I AM, takes us back to Almighty God's response to Moses in EXODUS: 3:14; thus Jesus declares Himself as the same I AM who spoke with Moses the Same God.

Jesus refers to himself as The Way meaning the only way that one can gain salvation and redemption and sanctification, permitting us to stand before the great I AM, Father God, and address Him as "ABBA" Father.

My Bible is the King James Version You are promoting the King James Version of God's Holy Scriptures in God's Holy Word the Bible.

My belief in Almighty God and Christ Jesus and God's Holy Spirit and God's Word, differs not from your own

Thanks for taking the time to comment!

In answer to your question regarding how child friendly the Bible videos and app are for children?

Except for the very young, I think they are wonderful! I have nine grandchildren and plan on spending time with them sharing the website/app -- over this weekend. I expect those above the age of 3 to really enjoy them, especially when using the iPad app where I can read the text that goes along with each video, and then show them the video. I have one particular granddaughter, who is 5, and particularly sensitive to the Spirit. I expect that she will be very very touched by the videos -- as will they all.

For older children, the app has interactive areas where they will be able to touch and learn about different geographical locations in the holy land, and learn about customs and traditions of the time.

Honestly, this is a great project that will engage people of all ages at whatever level they are interested in learning more about the life of Jesus Christ.

Sioux Ramos from South Carolina on December 21, 2011:

I just became aware of this and had not yet had an opportunity to explore. You have shared this is in such great detail, knowing it is from King James Bible makes it multi denominational. Thank you so much for sharing this great free gift and especially your personal experience with it. Just curious, how child friendly is it? Thanks again for a good write and a great topic. Happy Holy-Days
