Know All Of Love

Holding degrees in philosophy and Law. Formal studies or certificates or degrees in business, theology, insurance and security. Ex-preacher.

These Things

And of all these things we speak of we are not entwined with. I know of what is spoken yet I do not feel resigned. I hear the words of men and find most contrary to fine love. It is not upon me to know the minds of man. Lest I even lapse into a thought that I know the hearts of men.

Let my knees be weakened and my pulse be stilled. Mankind does not order me in that which is understood. My very heartbeat is not controlled by man but by the everlasting life which is love.

I drop my sword and lay down my shield and become overwhelmed by that which is good in humanity. Mine is no longer to question but rather to speak of good and grace. I shall be denied and that is righteous but not the spirit of loving thy neighbor. This shall burn in the lamps and rise upon the hills and down into the valleys.

It shall be known in these days by those who know of me that I crumble before love and know of no power greater than that. I resolve to crawl up the mound of shifting sand with one step forward and two back down. This is well and a good route to find the summit. Do not look upon me and see the easy path. It is not my calling to go there. Mine is that fork in the road that I must take the harder road lest I be teased into a slack of being well in spirit.

We are not well. And in that I mean that we either flourish or faint from the dynasty of the challenge we call love.

Perhaps today I falter and behave like a child. Such may be the good meaning of life. To fall and regain purchase and climb even higher. Of such things I am immature and carry the water but do not drink of it for my thirst has yet to be a given. Yes it might be wise for me to grope. Somehow a desire to know that which is beyond my kiln of understanding.

Many who read these musings will find them a bit out of the norm. Yes friend they are. It would appear that the Denisons do not know my keeping and let this soul wander about.

Lay down those weapons. Take up your giving love. Fight the good fight. Oh it could be said that those who travel in this realm are foolish. Again a fine thing.

Please be good to one another. Last we looked I only have one shot at spreading love. It would seem the same for you. I shall weep at your goodness and cry at your reluctance to love. For me I cannot reach the clouds but they are kind and sometimes reach me.

The greatest knowledge is knowing to love. And our finest fault is not doing it.

Ann Carr from SW England on December 05, 2020:

I love this one too. It's punchy but gentle, if you see what I mean! In the end, there is only one answer, for everything, and that's love.

Chitrangada Sharan from New Delhi, India on December 04, 2020:

Beautiful read, and as always you spread love and peace. The World needs needs more of that.

Thank you for sharing. Happy and blessed day to you.

Yes, Linda.

I thought so too! Light-hearted at times and a more essential and necessary way to put the same message, in harmony with current trends. I like it so much! This is my third time here! Exquisite!!

Linda Lum from Washington State, USA on December 04, 2020:

Eric, this is a different style for you, and I love it. Don't get me wrong, I love the old Eric (and don't want him to fade away), but this new side of you is such a beautiful read. No matter what style, no matter how you say it, the message is the same. Love, love, love. Thank you dear friend.

Bill can you even imagine it is 63 years since my adoption? My celebration will be simple. I will cruise around in my beloved car and waive at folks. I will not wear a mask and smile my butt off.

Bill Holland from Olympia, WA on December 04, 2020:

It's such a simple message, buddy! It's amazing to me how many out there don't understand it, or fail to recognize it, or refuse to live it.

Pax vobiscum, buddy! Stay safe!

Eric Dierker (author) from Spring Valley, CA. U.S.A. on December 04, 2020:

Thank you much Gabriel. You warm my heart. I had no intention of publishing this. Your comment makes it worthwhile.

Gabriel Wilson from Madeira, Portugal on December 04, 2020:

Eric I could be reading those words off a stone tablet. Expressive and heartfelt. I will cary your words with me and know they will help me get through the hard times.

Chris Mills from Traverse City, MI on December 03, 2020:

The right message and the right messenger, Eric. Thanks for this gift of love.

Eric Dierker (author) from Spring Valley, CA. U.S.A. on December 03, 2020:

My friend Manatita, I hurt and it is good. Why not. If we were called to just feel good all the time of what gain would we gather?

manatita44 from london on December 03, 2020:

A most wonderful Hub and a quality needed like Breath itself. Praise be!!

Pamela Oglesby from Sunny Florida on December 03, 2020:

Your words are a latern unto my feet, Eric.Your words of love are so beautiful. This is an article that warmed by heart. Thank you.

Eric Dierker (author) from Spring Valley, CA. U.S.A. on December 03, 2020:

Manatita, and so love speaks to us. What cowardice we would show not to share it beyond us. It is my desire that no words of mine honor me but rather honor love.

You are a gifted mentor of mine. Dwell well in the house of love.

Eric Dierker (author) from Spring Valley, CA. U.S.A. on December 03, 2020:

Peggy it is so nice of you to read this and leave a comment. You open up love and that is so nice. Thank you.

manatita44 from london on December 03, 2020:

Extremely beautiful!!

A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid. There may be tears at the foot of the mountain, but a lantern filled with the oil of hope and faith, will most certainly take us to the pinnacle-summit of Light supreme! Peace.

Eric Dierker (author) from Spring Valley, CA. U.S.A. on December 03, 2020:

John it is quite pleasant to hear from you. I take your consult to heed. My elder boy, mid thirties informs me I do not do enough with the gifts given to me. Is holding back, a sign of selfishness? Oh well I don't need to know.

Peggy Woods from Houston, Texas on December 03, 2020:

Keep spreading the message of love. Everyone needs more of that!

John Hansen from Gondwana Land on December 03, 2020:

Eric, you never fail to spread love and enlightenment in all you write. This seemingly random post conveys that need. There seems to be a lack of love in the world at the moment, and many don’t practice what they preach. You keep doing what you are doing and spread the word. It is up to others to heed it or not.
