The Prophet Jeremiah and His Pleading that God is Israel's Only Hope

We face similar times like Jeremiah and what he went through while proclaiming God's Word. He is known as "The Weeping Prophet" because he often felt disheartened and discouraged that no one was listening to him and the coming destruction.

He saw no visible fruit after preaching the Word for over 40 years! During his ministry, he was frustrated and exhausted, but he never quit. He wanted to; told God he wasn't going to proclaim His Word anymore but his love for the Lord was stronger than the despair he felt!

Jeremiah Cries Out to the Lord!

Jeremiah was persecuted, mocked, and scoffed at, his own people he grew up with wanted to kill him, imprison him, and torture him. We face this every day when we proclaim God's Word and as we proclaim that Jesus is our only hope.

Jeremiah cries out to the Lord!

7 O Lord, thou hast deceived me, and I was deceived; thou art stronger than I, and hast prevailed: I am in derision daily, every one mocketh me.

8 For since I spake, I cried out, I cried violence and spoil; because the word of the Lord was made a reproach unto me, and a derision, daily.

9 Then I said, I will not make mention of him, nor speak any more in his name. But his word was in mine heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I was weary with forbearing, and I could not stay. - Jeremiah 20:7-9

Jeremiah 1:8

"Be not afraid of their faces; for I am with thee to deliver thee, saith the LORD."

Scripture verse Jeremiah 29:13

Growing Weary

Then Jeremiah goes on to say in verse nine

20:9a "Then I said, I will not make mention of him, nor speak any more in his name."

Even though he was weary and tired of all this mockery by speaking the TRUTH in God's name. He still preached the Word and no matter what he said, no one believed him.

In today's world we are facing perilous times just like Jeremiah did in those ancient days of old and we too face mockers and scoffers that throw every accusation at us for standing up for our beliefs and for sharing the Word of the LORD.

No matter what Christians continue to warn people of what is to come and what is happening right now! The proof is all written in the Holy Bible.

But no one is listening.

The derision is deep, and people are divided more than ever before!

"But his word was in mine heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I was weary with forbearing, and I could not stay."

As previously stated, Jeremiah was tired; he was weary, but no matter what he could not remain quiet because the Word of the LORD was deep in his heart!

Don't we all feel like that in the times we are facing right now?

We try to warn people of the deceptions whirling around in the societies of this world, we try to teach the Good News of Christ and to encourage those people to fear not.

And because of our beliefs we are mocked, ridiculed, and labelled as heretics!

Christians are sharing the word of the Lord because they are trying to get as many people as possible to Jesus Christ, so they can be saved from what awaits them in the depths of hell if they don't repent!

Jeremiah 20:9b

"But his word was in mine heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I was weary with forbearing, and I could not stay."

The Promise of God's Good News

2 Peter 3:9

"The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance."

Jesus is our only Hope, and the time is at hand and that time is now. People think they have all the time in this world. No hurry to repent and change their ways, but sadly, they are wrong!

God does not want any of his people to perish so it's with great urgency that we get as many people to Jesus and Jesus to people!

We must get the Good News out so people can be saved before it's too late!

Our Blessed Hope

The LORDS Answer to Jeremiah

Oh, I'm sure the prophet had it worse than Christians have it right now! Either way, speaking the Word of the LORD these days has some of the same reactions that Jeremiah was facing back in his time.

Fear not and I'll tell you why...The LORD's answer to Jeremiah:

Jeremiah 1:8 "Be not afraid of their faces; for I am with thee to deliver thee, saith the LORD."

And that God loves all his people just as much as he loves you and me. He wants everyone saved but they do not listen!

Just take Jesus' hand and He will help you!

Just take Jesus' hand and He will help you!

Jeremiah's Conversation with the Lord

Jeremiah is having a conversation with the LORD because he is tired of the people mocking him whenever he preached God's Word at the temple!

Jeremiah was extremely troubled and was letting God know that the daily derision that he has been facing was too much to bear because it was happening every single day. And he was telling God that he wasn't going to make mention of His name anymore nor speak about him to His people.

The time is at hand and that time is now! Spread the Good News of Christ Jesus so others can be saved!

Jesus Loves All Men

Romans 10:12 "There is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him."

The Lord wasn't dividing us or labeling us. Jesus loves all men and waits for his people to come to him to be saved! Jesus is our only HOPE my brothers and sisters! He IS the only ANSWER!

No matter how hard life gets, keep the faith, have no fear, and keep spreading his Word!

The Lord is there to help us during these perilous times, and we are called according to his purpose, we need to speak truth in love, and kindness. And it's because of that love, that we spread the Word so that we bring others to Christ so they can be saved for time and all eternity!

God is Still in Control!

We are in those times right now and no matter how hard it gets, no matter how much we are mocked, or if we grow weary of the tasks at hand, God is with us, he is still in control and he will make a way when there looks to be no way!

In the Bible, the Lord promises that no matter where you are in your sins, Jesus will deliver you! We all have that blessed hope in the Lord Jesus Christ. Just repent and call upon the name of the Lord and he will save you!

Romans 10:13 "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."

Matthew 6:33 "But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

2 Timothy 4:2

"Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine."

Looking for that Blessed Hope in Christ Jesus

I encourage you not to give in to the fear of what people will do or say to you if you share the gospel of Jesus Christ with them.

My beloved, don't fret, have no fear, keep spreading the Good Word of Jesus Christ!

Promises found in Scripture:

Titus 2:13-15

13 "Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;"

14 "Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works."

15 "These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee."

2 Timothy 4:2

"Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine."

Rejoicing in Hope!

Be like St Andrew, he found people who wanted to hear the good news and brought people to Jesus so that He could save them!

Romans 12:12-18

12 Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer;

13 Distributing to the necessity of saints; given to hospitality.

14 Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not.15 Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep.

16 Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits.

17 Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men.

18 If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.

Love One Another

John 13:34-35

34 “A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.”

35 By this shall man know that ye are disciples, if ye have love one to another.

God bless you all and keep you safe under his wings shall thou trust! Share the word and His Blessed HOPE in Jesus Christ Our Lord and Saviour! In Jesus name: Amen
