It is God Who Gives the Increase
Life is Short. Savor the Moments
So then neither he who plants is anything, nor he who waters, but God who gives the increase.(1st Corinthians 3.7, NKJV)
For a Christian, this may be the most hidden secret of God giving us what we need. Know this - we are nothing without our Father. The Apostle Paul was one who understood this and I think I am getting too.
We, when led by the Holy Spirit, are doing His will through our bodies. We literally live, breath, see, and walk by Him. This removes doubts and fears. This gives us confidence we are in His will.
The Father does nothing without our hearts, minds, hands, and feet doing His will. Are we? He could, but He will not. However, He wants us to be more conformed to the image of His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. (see 2 Corinthians 3.18)
My thoughts go to how really short life turns out to be. Savor the moment before it is gone. At some point in life, the body begins to break down. Mine is terribly. In some it is quick, others it takes a long time.
One can slow the process somewhat with exercise and diet, but God controls every heartbeat and breath we take and knows the nanosecond of our end. Paul talked of he and Apollos who one did the planting and the other did the watering.
So it is with us as well. I have no idea of the effect the articles have on those that read them. But I hope it inspires a reverent love for the Bible and its study. That would mean that perhaps I did the planting and the Bible the watering.
Morality Is Nor Optional
Can You Stay In The Moral Circle?
After all, we are all washed by the watering of the Word. But know this - there is nothing more peaceful and fulfilling as walking with the Holy Spirit and staying in God's moral circle learning His Word every day.
Paul, the Apostle of churches of today said it best. "So let no one judge you in food or in drink, or regarding a festival or a new moon or Sabbaths, which are a shadow of things to come, but the substance is of Christ" (Colossians 2.16,17)
I have mentioned God's moral circle in other essays. By way of reminder, I present a shortened version here.
There are two circles a Christian must stay within.
1. One circle is filled with God, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit.
You must believe that God created the heavens and the earth, Jesus Christ is your propitiation covering your sins and lived, died, and was resurrected. Finally, the Holy Spirit lives in you to show you all these truths.
2. The second circle is where the Christian lives in God's Moral Circle.
Within this circle, you can marry who you want, take the job that makes you happy, buy the car you like and need, live in any house or apartment you require and makes you happy. The Holy Spirit is within each Christian helping them to learn how to live and walk peacefully in the light of love in a very dark world.
There you have it, two circles with must believe and live within. Life is rather simple and knowing the truth of the matter helps as well. Try to prove me wrong on this! I realize that God can and does directly intervene in world affairs. I also realize that He can do anything to anybody at anytime to accomplish His will.
God makes the proud humble!
God Resists the Proud
The Bible has a way of making the proud humble by resisting the proud. One's standing in the world is not important anymore. God makes things not as paramount as previously thought. Just as clearly, the Bible, when preached from God's standpoint, is in your face of the Politically Correct crowd we live within.
When the Gospel is preached, people come to the faith. (Acts 6, NKJV) Paul and Peter always preach the Gospel. Just as true, is the fact it will drive some people away as it always has.
The people God desires to have are saved and the ones who belong to the dark side are not. One of the life's real sad truths is it is hard for God to save someone who is the god of their own life.
The way I read the Word of God, His people should never be passive in the face of evil. Paul attacked the evil he encountered. We can all agree that the Word of God is His special revelation and communication to mankind today.
However, that begs another question. How seriously are we taking the Bible? Do we have a holy reverence for the Bible’s words and take the time to assemble for worship and Bible study? I want to start a Bible study and can't find any interested.
I can tell you that studying the Bible is not only fun but produces great things in your life as it has done in mine. I see God moving on my behalf every day. The deeper you understand God's will for your life in His Word, the happier you will be in life.
Give it a try. If you need help in how to study God's Word drop me an email and I can give you some guidance. If you have lingering questions you can drop me an email and I will answer them.
Effective Communication with God
Effective Communication Starts with Forgiveness
Jesus words in the Matthew account brings up a critical point. We can and must effectively communicate with God as we would with our earthly father and be entirely honest. Our heavenly Father desires communication with those He loves and created just like your early dad.
J. Hampton Keathley III states, “Isn’t it true that one of the keys to life and good relationships is effective communication? And for effective communication to occur, there must be effective listening.
This is just one of the reasons we must take the study of the Bible very seriously, whether privately or corporately. This is true not only in Bible study but in our prayer life and in all aspects of corporate worship.
Why? So we might truly listen to God through the various aspects of a worship service, and especially our time in the Word.”
Back to the original point – life is too short to sit on our back-ends and not do as our Father did on His time on the earth. His light of truth always stood tall in the face of those knowingly and unknowingly controlled by Satan.
Our fight is the light and truth of God against the darkness of those controlled by the dark side of Satan’s forces. If you do not think that America is in the face of God saying we don't need you-you haven't analyzed the news lately.
2nd Chronicles 7.13-15 states, “When I shut up the heavens so that there are no rain or command locusts to devour the land or send a plague among my people, if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land. Now my eyes will be open, and my ears attentive to the prayers offered in this place.”
God can and will forgive us when we get down on our knees and repent as a nation which has been done in the past. America who has turned her back on the God who created her needs to do the same in Washington, D.C.
Our prayer should be "Oh God, I have sinned against you and your Word, I am sorry for sinning against you and ask for your mercy and forgiveness based on what Jesus did on the cross for each of us. I repent and rely on the blood of Jesus Christ for every sin I have committed against you Lord. I am truly sorry. I receive your forgiveness and turn from my wicked ways in Jesus precious name, Amen."
That is my prayer, and it should be the prayer of every Christian in America. In the New Testament, there are key passages which cover the subject of sin and forgiveness for the child of God. These passages are John 13.1-17; Acts 24.16; 1 Corinthians 4.3-4; 11.28-29; Hebrews 4.12; and 1 John 1.5-2:2; 3.19-22. Revival and forgiveness start in a circle of one. One for Me and one for you.
Who is Your Enemy?
The Real Enemy Is Not Seen With Natural Eyes.
Paul stated, “For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world-rulers of this darkness, against the spiritual [hosts] of wickedness in the heavenly [places].” (Ephesians 6.12)
We live in an age of deceit. Never has it been easier to deceive the gullible. However, a child is to obey their parents. We are children of God and should obey our Father and His Son.
God is pro-life, and so each of us should be as well. God is pro-holiness, and we should be too. God is pro-truth, and we must be as well. The Word of God is light, and the ways of the world without Him and His Word are darkness overseen by Satan and those that deny God.
Anyone with any discernment knows that the ways of the world are not: pro-life, pro-holiness, and pro-God’s truth. However, God’s people should be moving in the direction of God’s ways at a cataclysmic pace.
Make time to get into the Word of God. Doing so will get one involved. If you are pro-abortion, ask God to show you the truth on this subject. 56 million abortions is a travesty. God is pro-life. He is also pro-holiness and seeks us to be conformed more and more like our Lord Jesus.
Remember, we did not get into this mess by being like Him. If we were like Him, we would have the motivation of God, and the peace that passes any understanding. Our country lives in the angst of what will happen tomorrow.
The Bible sees the state of our nation and the world so clearly written by Godly men a couple of thousand years ago that are coming true right before our eyes. The Bible is one-hundred percent accurate.
For those of us who believe in God, there is absolute peace of where we are going even if we suffer tribulation. The wrath of God reserved for those who have rejected His path to salvation, Him, and Jesus Christ. Anyone who does not believe this has not read the Bible.
These days ahead are inevitable as the sunshine that sustains the earth. The choice is yours. May each be at peace with whatever decision you ultimately make.
Life is too short to waste time.
My Thoughts - But a Vapor
James, one of the half-brothers of Jesus Christ, had a way with words. Our life at best is but a vapor. What each of us has to do is determine that we are going to make the best effort with the time we have. Fulfill whatever goal the Lord has set forth for us to follow. That is the challenge. God blessings to you in that pursuit.
