It Is Not Enough to Just Know It; You Must Be Willing to Show It – Righteousness Through Faith in Christ Jesus

Yahweh God holds Christians to a higher standard of living.

He expects a believing Christian to observe and apply the Law he established in the Old Testament to their walk throughout life. The Holy Spirit secures the desire to adhere to the principles the Heavenly Father blessed humanity with. While we know that salvation is not based on works, works are a product of our salvation. The high standards that the Lord wants us to crave are what the world needs to see in the way we live. How can a Christian expect to be a light if his heart is darkened with disobedience to the Law?

Please read from your favorite translation of the Bible Philippians 3:1-11; and then Romans 3:21-31

I strongly encourage you to read from your Bible. The power of the Holy Spirit speaks to all Christians differently through Yahweh God's inspired Word. You may even read and understand something different from what I present here. While I appreciate your comments and shared thoughts, my viewpoints are what my Heavenly Father has encouraged me to share and definitely not the bottom line on what He wants others to understand. Never-the-less, a daily dose of the Bible will bless you; of this you can be encouraged.

Philippians 3:1-3

Watch out for those deceivers who try to teach a false message of salvation. The Christian faith is based only on the truth of Christ Jesus, who was presented as a gift of salvation by Yahweh God. That salvation is manifested by professed belief and not by ritual works. It is not our deeds that bring us to worship of Yahweh God by the Holy Spirit, rather it is the glory of Christ Jesus that brings us the freedom from the flesh to encounter communion with the Heavenly Father.

Philippians 3:4-6

Attesting to the futility of reliance upon ritual deeds to attain righteousness, Paul admitted that he had followed all the customs of the Jewish society in which he lived to do what he thought was the right thing to do enter the Kingdom of Yahweh God. Everything he did secured himself a position of esteemed character in the Jewish society. He was a Pharisee of the Law; a man with a zeal to serve Yahweh God as he persecuted the early church and Christians; and no fault could be found in his strict adherence to the laws of the Jewish people. Had he continued in that line of faith, Paul never would have seen the blessings that Yahweh God had in store for him.

Philippians 3:7-8

No amount of what we gain in life, whether it be wealth, social status, or experience can compare to what we can achieve through our relationship with Christ Jesus. Like the rich young man who went away from the Messiah saddened because he could not perceive letting go of his material wealth to the impoverished in order to enter the Kingdom of Yahweh God. Such things should be considered as trash in relation to the spiritual richness we receive through our relationship gained of the Lord.

Philippians 3:9

Live your Christian faith where it can be easily recognized that you exist inside the righteousness of Christ Jesus, not just by rules you profess to live by. It is not enough to just know it; you must be willing to show it. Christians must live the Truth of the faith through Yahweh God.

Philippians 3:10-11

I feel as Paul felt. I need to know more about my Savior. I want to experience the power of His resurrection. I enjoy the fellowship with other Christians that is the result of His suffering. I am enthralled knowing that I, too, will enjoy eternal life because of my belief and faith. I pray you will enjoy the blessings of faith just as I do.

In Romans 3:21-31, Paul describes this walk with Christ Jesus a different way.

Romans 3:21-22

Do not take it the wrong way. A faith in Christ Jesus includes the adherence to the Law, which also attests to the righteousness of Yahweh God through the Law. The righteousness from Yahweh God comes to all who truly believe in Christ Jesus, putting their faith in the Resurrection.

Romans 3:23

No one can live free from the sin debt without the intercession of Christ Jesus. No matter how close we try to live to Yahweh God, such as Paul attempted early on in his service to the Almighty, even the smallest of sins can prevent us from enjoying the blessings of communion with Him. And since we are born into sin, we will never achieve it on our own. We need the Savior to reconnect with the Heavenly Father.

Romans 3:24-26

Faith is understanding the sacrifice from both Yahweh God and His Son, Christ Jesus, the Passover Lamb for the sins committed beforehand. The Heavenly Father did this to exemplify his righteousness in the present to be just and to present justice for the repentant who place their faith in Christ Jesus.

Romans 3:27-28

It is our faith that justifies us. Upon that any Christian can boast. We cannot boast upon works. While those will be a result of our union with the Holy Spirit, works are by no means a prerequisite of salvation.

Romans 3:29-31

Yahweh God is not just the Lord of the Jewish people; He is the Heavenly Father of all of humanity. The Messiah He sent was intended for all to be justified through faith and belief. Does that mean a Christian can just ignore the law as if it was meaningless? Certainly not! By our love for Yahweh God, belief in Christ Jesus, and through the Holy Spirit, we whole-heartedly uphold the Law and live it in our everyday walk in the Kingdom of Righteousness.

In conclusion,

Paul cared very deeply for the people and the congregations that he ministered to. He knew that he was not perfect, but he also boasted of his redemption. He boldly confessed to the sins he committed and to the grace he received. We should be just as willing to admit to the truth of our faith and the reason we deserve the pardon of our sins.

Blessings for your day and strength for your walk.
